    Kia and Hyundai are known to provide more features. Whatever they provide in terms of usability, software, hardware, switches, buttons etc.. just works. No niggles, no lag, no unusual behaviours, no bugs.. they just work. Half baked items / Parts are rare. Most of them, well thought out and executed. Have to give it out to them for that.

    Great video! I have the X-line facelift. Was lucky enough to grab one of the first X-lines in Bangalore in Aug 2023. I agree with every point in the video. However, I've found maintaining the matte grey very easy and quite rewarding too. The fact that a simple wipe off the Jopasu duster pretty much sets it going. Unlike the ones with shine, where you have to go an extra round to make sure it looks shiny and new. I've always said this to anyone who's asked for a car recommendation. It's a great all-rounder - it's quick, it's versatile, it's feature rich. Yes, safety is a hush-hush matter when it comes to Seltos. But we all have to remember, the NCAPs are done at 64kmph. At triple digits, every car is unsafe. A safe driver over a safe car always. Our fathers have survived Maruti 800s for years scott-free. Safe cars are always better, don't take me wrong. But we've to change the narrative to safe driving and priority on safer cars will eventually be a subtopic.

      Have you done PPF on your xline? If yes, which one? If no, how about stone chips/scratches? Is it easy to get it repainted and match the color?
      Thanks!

    • @akshay_music
      @akshay_music 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@piyushkanthak1087 well, it depends on what you call maintenance. I don't use soap or shampoo. I just use tap water and good quality microfiber (800 GSM). I have bought a jopasu duster (highly recommended) from Amazon. One thing you've to know is matte grey is that kinda color that looks great when clean and looks old and average when dirty. So you have to do the basic hygiene .. like wipe the dust off before taking it out. But again, it's subjective what you call maintenance. If you do these basics well, it serves you well and boy is it an eye candy!

    • @akshay_music
      @akshay_music 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mehtanitin great question. I've got PPF done for the bonnet, mirrors, headlamps and bumper. I got it done at 3M Koramangala, Bangalore. Best 3M in Bangalore I've to say. Coming to the stone chips, it's inevitable and definitely not as easy as glossy paint to cover them up. It recently happened to me and I got it done at a nominal cost (1k) to get it patched at Kia official service. Considering these things don't happen too often, I feel it's a fair trade off if you're someone who maintains your vehicles generally well. Hope it helped!

    As a Seltos 2020 HTX diesel owner, i must say having test driven the Turbo Petrol, it sure feels like great upgrade. But those 18 inchers sure feels bit let down. Yes they look amazing feels grippy but the 17 is where the sweetspot. Also the Stock tyres are just OKAY. The Conti Uc6 are like the default upgrade for majority of Seltos Owners. Even I'll be upgrading to them after my stock ones are close to 60k KM. They actually make a big difference.
    The feature list and their Reliability is where the Koreans dwarfs every other manufactures. You'll find yourself using almost all the features on day to day basis more and still find something new down the line. But this Usability/Reliability comes at a cost of slightly higher Replacement cost especially after the warranty ending.

      @Holy_Demon Hi, I've booked the HTK + variant which comes with 16inch wheels, just looking at the stance of the upper variants I was planning to put 18inch wheels on the car. You've mentioned 17inch wheels to be a sweet spot can you please mention the reason for the same.

    • @Holy_Demon
      @Holy_Demon 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ajinkyasawant7945 18 inches comes with a smaller sidewall. And although the 2024 seltos Suspension are better from my suspension setup it's still on the stiffer side (comparing to Creta 2024) . 18 inches are sportier but less comfort for back seat passenger especially on broken roads.
      That's why i said 17 is the sweet spot. You get better comfort and also better grip.
      I would strongly suggest if you prefer comfort more or have parents who relax on back seats.. Don't change those 16s. Orelse go for softer compound rubber at 17.
      18s frankly are more of show purpose and handle the sporty nature much easier.

    Last month, I was considering buying the NS 200 because it’s known for being value-for-money, despite not being fond of its outdated looks. However, after watching your podcast on the NS 200, where Shumi sir emphasized not basing a bike purchase solely on its value-for-money aspect, I reconsidered my decision. As a college student, mileage was also a concern for me with my first bike. I test rode both the Apache 200 4V and the MT-15; both bikes felt modern and upscale. Watching Shumi sir’s video on the R15, and knowing it shares the same engine as the MT-15, was crucial in helping me decide. I finally bought the MT-15, and I must say, this bike is amazing to ride! The engine is incredibly smooth, and the overall feel is awesome. Thank you, Shumi sir, and thanks to the Motorinc team!

Prolonged low speed usage results in clogging of DPF and a difficult ownership experience. I had a chat with one of the service advisors at Kia. Can you please make a comprehensive video on switching from manual to automatic transmission? Many of us have been driving manual cars for a long time and are either planning to switch to automatic or have recently made the switch. We're unsure about the changes we need to make in our driving style and the precautions to take, especially with concerns about transmission overheating and failures.
    It would be great if you could cover:
    * Differences in Driving Style: What changes should we make when switching from manual to automatic? How to adapt for different types of automatic transmissions like CVT vs. DCT. Which transmissions will you recommend for hot places (like Delhi, Rajasthan), for hilly areas (like Himachal, uttranchal) etc
    * Driving in Different Conditions: Tips for driving automatic cars (especially models like the Hyundai Creta or other cars under 20 lakhs) in hilly areas, both ascending and descending. Precautions for bumper-to-bumper traffic, handling automatic cars at signal lights etc
    * Running-in Automatic Cars: How to properly break in a new automatic car since you don't control the gears directly.
    * How to maintain your automatic cars (and transmissions) in proper manner
    These topics would be really helpful for those transitioning to automatic cars. Thanks for considering this!

The new gen gearbox - shows that they are confident. They work better in every way. If we were looking to get one - we wouldn’t worry about it. But would opt for extended warranty as insurance. I don't know how the Koreans manage to give so many "FEATURES" at such a competitive price compared to others! I know they share their platforms between their sister companies but so does giants like VW & smaller players like TATA & even they, despite sharing platforms, don't get the same sense of luxury compared to the Koreans. What Karthikeya sir said about the Seltos's cabin looks & feels like the more expensive BMWs is absolutely true! The Koreans & the Japanese feel like the "GERMANS", Indian brands feel like "BRITISH" & the Europeans are left in the dry, craving for more!

I am getting the 1.5 NA HTX seltos petrol manual and the 1.5 NA SX Creta petrol manual in more or less the same brice bracket. The seltos is 40,000 cheaper and offer some extra features. But my main concern is whether the seltos is good enough for 3 people in the back and its ride quality compared to creta? Which once would you advise?

    • @rishi2504
      @rishi2504 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, my question was more on the lines of its 'top-dog status'..
      Anyway, I ended up buying the N-Line N10 DCT. Hyundai's 4-yr extended warranty as against Kia's 2 went its favour. Didn't want to take any chances with DCT under the hood.
      Ofc, seltos had a few more features, but I thought I could live without them.
      Another thing most reviewers will miss out is the audio quality on Creta. While both use Bose, I did enough tests to conclude Hyundai's implementation sounds better for some reason. One reason I can think of, is the placement of tweeters. They are closer to the ears offering better higher frequencies, that translates into better perceived clarity.

    A polite observation: The video seems a bit too dramatic and exaggerated at times. It's not that this car is bad-in fact, it feels special with all its features and looks. There are better options for driving and traveling within the same budget or even for less.

    Hey, nice video! But you forgot to mention something really important: safety. The old Seltos did poorly in crash tests, and I don't see anything here to suggest that's changed. They've added a bunch of features, but they've missed the most important thing. As a reviewer, you have a responsibility to point this out, and it's a shame that you didn't. U went to such length to explain tiny details...u didn't mention anything this critical safety aspect... almost feels like u guys were paid not to mention this...

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @siddharth44410, thank you for the feedback. We do not do paid content at MotorInc and to us it's more important that the Seltos has every electronic safety aid and most of them are available on all variants too. Kartikeya has mentioned that in the video as well. The new Seltos is yet to be crash tested (not safety test, crash test!) by BNCAP so we haven't talked about that here. And fwiw, we don't equate crash test ratings alone to how safe a car is.

    Thanks, as always, for an insightful segment!
    While hard to digest at first, i am now warming upto a cvt/normally aspirated set up.
    In a more enlightened world we would all still be buying the diesels. If, for instance, there was a transparent roadmap in terms of reasonably long usable window and fuel availability.
    The strategic ambiguity maintained by the government on the future of Diesel rivals that of America on Taiwan and has been an unqualified buzzkill!
    Today, when the daily commute sees average speeds of 15-20 km/hr, on a good day, a turbo petrol is exactly the wrong sort of engine the Diesel the right one!
