It’s still special I was 13 or so and I was just thinking how pivotal it was for me.. I don’t think I’d been the same without it.. it’s still amazing in 24 .. that’s incredibley tough thing to do for any band to make a record so good it lasts forever.. I saw them in 03 and they were so good and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had at a concert.. it was so special
This album was so important to my teenage yrs and now at 49 & I’m the parent of grown children and a grandma .. and my boys know it well they were raised by me.. but without it i don’t think i would have turned out the same .. I saw them in 03 w/ my best friend just me & her and it was the most fun concert we’d ever been to.. it’s like they were playing to us .. and among all these people around us and im sure the others felt that way.. thats the one thing they do live that’s pretty incredible..
Love this DVD so much! I bought a Marshall JMP-1 Valve Midi Preamp because of this video. Love Phil' sound here 3:23. Def Leppard is such an amazing band.
Heck, "Gods of War" its opening riff makes me think "Sending out an S.O.S. ... sending out an S.O.S. ... sending out an S.O.S. ..." Maybe Sting & the Police SHOULD pull a Joe Satriani on the Leps. Phil Collen hit it on the nail right there... that opening riff does sound exactly like The Police's "Message in a Bottle." I wonder if he also admitted the main riff (the chorus) of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" as sounding (somewhat) similar to the Joan Jett version of "I Love Rock 'n Roll"?
I think it very sad when Def Leppard's drummer described Steve Clark's family life as "dark" and "that in some ways, Steve just didn't want to be here." It's really a sad commentary that a life filled with money and success doesn't always translate into happiness. Sad portion of the video. RIP, Steve!
So funny that the guys didn't know that Burundi Black was the basis for Adam and the Ants AND Bow Wow Wow's core sound (both of whom were also indebted to glam rock). Musical segregation was so rampant back then
Funny, when I hear Phil playing around 3:45, I find his sound awful, but then again it sounds a lot like the tone on the album, which sounds fantastic. Takes a good ear to know that that awful tone would sound fantastic in the context of the rest of the music.
1:45 he just use 3 strings to do that solo...and its sound tottaly awesome...anothers guitar players use fast licks and strange sounds...why?...cuz they're not Steve Clark!!
Likewise. In my opinion, Vivian JUST DOESN'T "fit" (a band like) Def Leppard. In my opinion, I was FLOORED by him in Dio, BUT, Def Leppard and Vivian Campbell "JUST DON'T MIX." Too bad, the band didn't (try to) make amends with the other original guitarist, Pete Willis.
Its funny hearing joe say Steve only wrote cool riffs not songs on these 2 epic albums none of them wrote songs they all just wrote riffs mutt took the riffs and did the actual song writing are arranging if that is what you want to call it but mutt put them together thats why they were lost without him there not song writers lol there more of a face like all pop music the face that sells mutts songs 😉
Yup im just one of those assholes that watches this shit to criticize it lol i seriously do think a lot of it is genius with so much music layered over top impossible for a cover band t cover the stuff properly anyway does the drummer come up with any of the beats seems to me like he just plays the programed beats they came up with i cant consider this album a rock album
R.I.P Steve. So sad. What a pure, unique talent. You never hear a bad thing about him.
I admit I was crying when I saw Steve playing. I miss you so much Steve RIP!
Steve Clark never will be forgotten always loved by millions+❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hysteria was one of the 4 or 5 albums that changed my life. I was 16 and heard nothing like it up til then. Saw this tour live as well.
Same

Who would have ever known that the Gods of War riff was based on Message in a Bottle? Righteous.
All Steve ever wanted was the admiration for his dad but never got it hope his dad thinks about that every day

All Steve wanted was his father's approval but his father was a total loser
I admit to misting up when they were talking about Steve. I miss him...
Gods of War is a badass song because of Steve Clark he was awesome
I watch and cryed
3:45 is awesome..
When I saw he died in the news paper, I cried for days!.....I miss Steve Clark.....Diana in Greencastle
awesome..
would love to hear a remixed version using the chorus's that sav was playing at 5:23
We all miss Steamin'
Can't believe they got Steve Clark's birth year wrong on the caption - It's 1960 not 1961.
1:47 - that bottom caption under Steve's name should read "1960-1991."
Rick S was always pretty boy...My mother LOVED him.
there wan an other documentary about def leppard named "def leppard rock of ages documentary".does anyone know where i can find it?
Believe it or not, I've NEVER seen Def Leppard in concert-except on TH-cam (a little humor there)!
❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
Like The Hysteria Album
@thanic2020 you got that right
what is the song on 5:04 ?
I would add that it's not only "based on", but improved!
Great influence for a brilliant song
What is or are your LEAST favorite song(s) on "Hysteria?"
Sugar!
Why? Should he only be in Whitesnake or something?

agree. the vibe of the band dramatically changed with Vivian. He is a great guitarist and dude but leppard vibe is different

Let's not exaggerate...
