  • My first experience with a Capelli RIB and wow was I impressed with how she rides! Join me for a cruise on a very windy Sydney Harbour day with moderate swells and lots of wind chop. We take the boat through some waves before testing her up to her full speed of 50kts with the 300Hp Yamaha's.
You get a lot of boat in 10m and this Capelli Tempest 1000 is no exception. She's ideal for large groups on day trips but equally manageable for just one person or a couple of teenagers to operate. The U-Shaped seating with sun shade is super social and with toilet and double bed below you can even have a night away on this boat!

Great content as usual. Do you like the way the boat is trimmed while up on a plane? Does the bow seem high? How would a few guests in rear seating area effect trim?

Yes the trim felt fine during that test. Boat runs fairly flat actually and the view over the bow is awesome. Moving weight always affects trim but the tubes on this boat would soften a lot of that out.

A friendly request ... don't pretend nothing can happen to you so please wear a life jacket. Be the example. Thank you.

Oh I absolutely never pretend nothing can happen. Been boating for 30 years now so definately understand that. In Australia there is no requirement to wear a lifejacket inshore on boats of this size and generally most Aussies can swim before they can walk so the general understanding and respect for the water is very high. However we always just use common sense and use safety gear when it's wise plus do safety briefings before every outing. You might also hear me preparing guests on camera before I'm about to do soemthing like go fast. I think taking an active approach to safety like thinking everything through in advance is a good way to go in Sydney. I understand in England everyone has to wear life jackets all the time no matter what and respect that.
