      I feel like most viewers are under the impression of Slytherin means evil...since most of the main villains should belong to Slytherin,but it's never true.
      The 4 houses of Hogwarts actually kinda restrain people 's mind, thinking a person should be one-dimensional rather than complicated.
      To me there's always multiple traits for everyone to fit in each house, it's more about percentage.
      To me Heymitch is more of a 60% Ravenclaw 40 Slytherin.While Lucy Gray is probably close to 70%
      being Slytherin and 30% Ravenclaw.
      The title of "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes",
      actually implied Lucy could be the snake herself, disguised as a soundbird .
      Most of the people in reality,have all traits of the 4 houses tho,but mainly 2 standing out.

    I’m also pretty curious where you’d sort Annie and Mags.
    I personally think Mags belongs in Gryffindor, not only for volunteering in Annie’s place, but also for sacrificing herself to the poisonous fog to let her team go through without having to worry about her.

    • @gingergoddess8953

      Annie and Mags are both Gryffindors. Annie saw her partner decapitated and still fought to swim to safety at the end of her games. She moved on successfully after Finnick. She got married in front of camera for the rebellion even though she was basically just this side of unstable. Annie's an underrated trooper.

    • @RobbeCools
      @RobbeCools ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Also Katniss doesn't really have the ambition a Slytherin would have. She doesn't want to be the leader of the rebellion, she wants a more simple life. She also doesn't think before she acts, very Gryffindor.

    • @Yuval.Ronen2010
      @Yuval.Ronen2010 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think she is more Slytherin then Gryffindor, Mainly because she kind of used Peeta the whole first game. She made him think she really loved him, just to survive the arena and get sponsors. It's a very Slytherin thing to do, because in the end it's a cunning act of self-preservation.
      But contrary to what I said, I think she will be a Gryffindor, for the combination of Harry and Neville's reasons. The Sorting Hat initially wanted to put Harry in Slytherin, but he himself opposed it, so he entered Gryffindor. Neville wanted to be a Hufflepuff because he was afraid of Gryffindor's reputation, but the quality he valued most in people was bravery, and the hood recognized his potential. This is also quite the reason that Hermione is not a Ravenclaw, you can understand it mainly from this quote: "Me? Books and cleverness. There are more important things: friendship and bravery." You can clearly see that Hermione valued bravery and that was the change that decided between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. I think Katniss is the same, she appreciates those who are brave, and acts accordingly. That's why I want her to be a Gryffindor despite that.
      post Scriptum
      Hufflepuff would also suit her terribly, in my opinion, because the fact that she volunteered instead of Prim is an extraordinary act of loyalty, and in Ravenclaw she wouldn't be bad either, because in the end she was the one who made both her and Peeta win, even so, Gryffindor and Slytherin suit her better. @@anonymous99923

    I'd put Finnick in Hufflepuff, he's fiercely loyal and judged a person by the values and fairness. He didn't like Katniss because he thought her love for Peeta was an act. But when he found out she truely loves him he started to like and trust her. He never showed any disloyalty towards her again. He treats Annie with such patience. His loyalty toward Joanna.. the sadness for Mag's death.. it shocked Katniss. Even when his body was being sold he showed kindness towards his buyers and knew that in time he could make good use of sectres.

  • @jamtu1983
    @jamtu1983 ปีที่แล้ว +56

    I strongly feel like Haymitch is a Ravenclaw, but I can see the Slytherin traits. He’s witty enough to make the capitol laugh and love him before the games even start, and is the only tribute to realize the scenery/air was a distraction before the games started. He also knew to stay away from the volcano which killed several tributes, and was creative enough to use the arena to his advantage. He learns very quickly how vengeful the capitol can be because of this and when Katniss starts showing signs of rebellion, he’s smarter because of his own experience and is one of the bigger minds behind the rebellion’s eventual success. He’s also a source of wisdom for Katniss about her status as mockingjay or keeping the districts in line after her first games with her needing his advice throughout the series.

  • @sjn7688
    @sjn7688 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    I think Katniss would be in Ravenclaw. Though she is brave in her actions, she's not very brave with her feelings. She didn't have the bravery to fight for her love for Gale or Peeta. When Peeta came back hijacked she didn't have the bravery to be close to him or fight for him to return. It was easier for her to deal with to assume he was dead to her. It takes courage to admit your feelings, and Katniss doesn't do that until the end of the books. But she's very clever. When reading the books she manages to connect the dots quickly, figuring out the water must be nearby, cooking raw meat from an old fire, the explosive mine trap, where Peeta was, figuring out the spial, the arena was a clock. Katniss is very intelligent in the arena and learning how to feed her family without help. But though her actions are certainly brave, her being scared of her feelings and wanting to runaway from them makes her a Ravenclaw instead in my view.

    I agree with all of these except for gale, prim, and Lucy gray. While I definitely see Slytherin traits in gale for his mindset when it comes to how to fight the war, overall I think he’s more of a gryffindor. He and katniss just feel very similar to me. Prim has always struck me as more of a hufflepuff because, in the same way that I find katniss and gale having a lot of similarities, I find prim and Peeta to have a lot of similarities too. Like peeta, prim is loyal to the end and is also hardworking and always focused on doing the right thing and looking out for others. When it comes to Lucy gray, I definitely agree that she could go in any of the houses, but I think Slytherin suits her more than ravenclaw. And no, not just because she has an affinity for snakes lol. I just think that she always knows how to play a crowd and “put on a show” in order to get people on her side. I don’t really mean her musical talent in this sense, but more just the way she is able to act a certain way and put on her “camera personality” in certain situations in order to get people to see her a certain way. The best example of this, in my opinion, is her conversation at the zoo with Lepidus malmsey (I think that’s how you spell it lol)

    Peeta is absolutely a Hufflepuff. I would argue that Haymitch is one, as well, for similar reasons. Both were incredibly passive in the games they won. Neither of them killed in their original games (Haymitch let the game design dispose of the final threat…could that be more of an example of fairness??). They kept the spirit of teamwork until it didn’t suit their female counterparts. When it came down to it, both were fiercely loyal to Katniss. They were both hardworking, but Haymitch saw year after year of disappointment, losing every other tribute for over two decades. I don’t think a Hufflepuff that suffers from PTSD and alcohol abuse is a Slytherin. He’s just an incredibly traumatized Hufflepuff.

    I think Katnis would be a Slytherin personally but I think I agree with all the others. I mostly say it because her and Haymitch are so much alike so if he was one she would be too. I also think her being a Slytherin would be a subversion of expectations because a lot of people associate that house with villainy because of how it's presented in the first couple books of harry potter. I will admit that Katnis is very brave but it's not necessarily something she values as highly as self preservation.

    1:19 so katniss is a lot like Harry. He too could have been a slytherin, but his bravery and heroism made gryffindor a better fit. Though I kind of think the two houses are flip sides of the same coin. They share the same basic values but differ on their value of blood and their ultimate goals, one cares more about themselves and their ambitions and the other also craves glory and is ambitious but also wants to use that to help the people they love and make the world better.

    As a proud Slytherin, I 100% agree that Haymitch Abernathy fits in this house, and always has. He figured out a loophole during the 2nd Quarter Quell and used it to save his life and to win the game. Most people would've retorted on combat skills, physical attributes or some specific knowledge/lore to defeat the District 1 career left (or would've been too brokent after the death of Maysilee to do so). But Haymitch manipulated the arena, using the forcefield to his advantage. This is a very Slytherin way of dealing with things. His arrogance before the game even started, in his interview with Caesar Flickerman, also is a slytherin tell-tale sign.
    Now of course, given the very negative views hold regarding Slytherin, it's no surprise that for many people, Slytherin = bad guys, mean people and losers. I for one would argue that if anything, Haymitch was a lot less of a Slytherin between the death of his family and his getting to know Katniss and Peeta. Of course, his self-preservation instinct was still there, but he was not more than a broken man trying to barely survive for those almost 24-years. I would however say that during that period, his chosing every year which District 12 tribute to train and which one to abandon, is pretty slytheriny. The rules are cruel, unfair, and forced Haymlitch to make an impossible decision, year after year. But he knew he couldn't change, transform, question or do anything really against this disgusting situation. Choosing a tribute and abandonning the other might not be the bravest, most honorable, fairest or most creative thing to do, but it's the only way to give a very very slim chance for either of the District's tribute to survive. Choosing one of the tribute each year until he couldn't bear it anymore was awful, and just another example of the moral decay and cruelty of the Capitol, but it's also a prime example of how Slytherins work. The Game is riggued, cruel, awful and we cannot call it off, so let's try to make the rational - and heartbreaking - decision and strategy.
    His arrogance, his sarcasm, his combativity and, first and foremost, his pride, were back full-force once he saw that they finally held a serious chance with Katniss and Peeta in the arena. As a raging alcoholic, he managed to train them, fought to find sponsors, to sell their story, and then for the 3rd Quarter quell, did all of that while working behind the curtain to build support among the victors for the rebellion and create allies for Katniss and Peeta without them knowing (which is also shows his leadership skills). Even while sick from withdrawal in District 13, his "the ends justify the means" attitude was very present. His advocating that, after watching Katniss's first (and terrible) propo, the Mockingjay should be sent to the battlefield if she wants to because it's the best way to get good propo is just one example.
    For all of this and even more (his attachment to family which ultimately broke him when Snow decided to punish him for example), I think that while he is very smart, courageous, and loyal, Haymitch is even more of a Slytherin than Gale or Coin in many ways (but not Snow, because obviously!)

    Once again a great video. I thought of a further video for Harry Potter in future. As duelling is a sport, why not simmulate how a tournament of 128 Harry Potter characters would develop. It could be like a tennis tournament where the winner always advances one round. Every round the duells would become more epic until the final could possibly be Dumbledore against Grindelwald or Voldemort. Wouldn't that be an awesome video?

    I’d say Haymitch is a Ravenclaw. I don’t think he’s on the Gale level of doing whatever it takes to survive - he’s strategic. His alcoholism was a coping mechanism, but he also used it to his advantage. To the Capitol, he was a joke, a drunk, not a threat - all the while he’s plotting and scheming and working to spark a revolution. Even in his time in the arena, he wasn’t out murdering all the other tributes…he was trying to figure out the force field. His curiosity won him the Games.

    This is a pretty cool sorting. As a fan, I have another idea if you’d like (to say this in advance, this idea would take a lot of time, but I have a way to make it easier, again as a fan, I would not want to give an idea that would be too complicated or long).
    How about characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (I’m suggesting that because you’ve done “life of” videos for some of their characters)?
    Again, I know this would take probably a long time given that there are so many movies, shows, specials, and especially characters. I have a couple of ways you could break it down into smaller videos if that would be easier. My ideas include:
    1. Characters based on phases when they first appear (ex: Phase 1: Iron Man, Pepper, Happy, Howard, Thor, Jane, Selvik, Loki, Captain America, Peggy, Bucky, Fury, etc. Phase 2: Star Lord, Gamora, Ultrion, etc. And so on)
    2. Characters based on movie series (ex: Thor movies- Thor, Loki, Hela, Odin, Heimdall, etc, Spider-Man series: Spider-Man, MJ, May, Vulture, Mysterio, friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man, amazing Spider-Man, etc)
    3. Characters based on if they’re heroes, villains, antiheroes, or side characters.
    4. Characters based on teams, groups, or cultures, (ex: avengers, guardians, Asgard, Wakanda, etc)
    Again, this is just a friendly idea as a fan. I hope you’ll consider it, I bet a lot of people, not just myself, would like the idea. Otherwise, this is a great video and keep doing what you’re doing! :)

    I would place Snow in Gryffindor for the character he was in the Prequel of the Hunger Games trilogy which proves that he shows more Gryffindor in his character than Slytherin. If you think about it he and coin are parallel to the Gryffindor versus Slytherin type trope (It is not about who or what we are or the abilities we possess that defines who or what we are; It is our choices{Revised version of Albus Dumbledore's quote}). And I would place Finick in Hufflepuff because he reminds me of Cedric Diggory and it really shows during the final chapters of Catching Fire.

Because the Quarter Quell never existed before the 75th Hunger Games, and Haymitch made up the idea to have double the people so that Katniss would most likely get killed (I gotta fact check myself on this cause I don’t know, it’s been over a year since I read the Hunger Games) and he just told Plutarch and other people to lie to Katniss and tell her the the Quarter Quell was real and that there were gonna be more people. Just what I remember, someone tell me if I’m wrong those, please 😅
    And also I have read all the Hunger Games including The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I don’t really know why I said that, I guess I just wanted to share. 👍
