- The legend of Rosslyn Chapel, located about seven miles from the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, helped to inspire a best selling novel and a block buster movie called The Da Vinci Code. The publicity led to a rebirth of sorts and helped pay for a major restoration that's brought the chapel back to what it looked like when it was built in the mid 1400's. Could it be the final resting place of the Holy Grail? What was the connection to the Knights Templar?

Very well done and said. This video doesn't follow the fantasist trend that since Dan Brown's work tends to associate Rosslyn with the knights Templar. It's true that the two main countries where the Templars continued after Friday 13th, were Scotland and mainly Portugal where they became the Order of Christ and eventually kickstarted the Navigation era of which the Portuguese were the pioneers. Tomar in particular was the world's Templar capital for many years, which doesn't surprise considering Portugal itself was founded with the aim of becoming the first Templar nation. A kingdom of consciousness based on their gnostic beliefs.
Rosslyn however is not likely related to any of that because it was built much later and by the Sinclair (St. Claire) who might have nurtured great admiration and fascination for the Templars, but were not Templars.
Another issue that's often neglected is the fact the Templars never became Freemasons. What exists is a lodge of Freemasonry - The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta - that *claims* to have descended from the Knights Templar, which nevertheless has no historical proof and is most likely a self-attributed ancestry.

Just visited the Chapel last week, its a place of beauty, peace and inspiration, the highlight of my trip, hopefully will go back next year, the workmanship is unbelievable. A must visit if possible.
We visited the Chapel the end of May 2016 on a cold and rainy day but it was still wonderful. In the afternoon we toured the Royal Yacht Britannia.

The Holy Grail is Jesus Christ.
The dates in this tale are inconsistent with what the masons themselves call their "history". The chapel was built 200 years before the first Masonic lodge was founded. However, just because the masons think something doesn't make it necessarily so. The family mentioned is actually the name after the change and they have better architectural treasures for masons than the famous chapel.
