I wish I had the patience and dexterity to do that. I have four Vitas - mainly so if one fails I'll always have another to continue playing on! Two of them are Japanese - Glacier White and Cosmic Red 1000s. It's definitely still the best hand held ever made.
If you ever feel the itch to start repair, Vitas are also one of the more enjoyable things to work on in my opinion. Screws are easily accessible, color-coded, and everything is well-organized under the hood (Especially compared to the DS line, PSPs, and the like). Easily one of my favorites of all time. I hope a 2000 model comes across my workbench soon!
@@Joe-qd7kd I appreciate that, but I don't really repair for money because I'm far from a professional and still learning. If you pay for a repair, you should definitely look into professional options or try yourself! The way the Vita is built, it's not the most difficult task to swap the housing since it's one integrated assembly. Just takes some patience, which is funny coming from me.
Hi, I enjoyed watching this repair. I wonder, besides analog sticks and battery, how can anyone break such a nice handheld machine? Glad you recovered it. I have a nice Ps Vita 2000 and I try to preserve it as much as I can. The only thing I dislike about 2000 version is its fragile analog sticks, but it was newer and cheaper version... Cheers!
Thanks so much, appreciate you watching! I've had a handful of 1000 models come across my workbench at this point - while that's a small sample size, it does seem like Vitas are a bit mistreated for whatever reason. However, they are one of my favorite things, both to use and to work on. I haven't been lucky enough to come across a 2000 model yet, though I do want one. While the 1000's OLED is bold and beautiful, they tend to accumulate issues over the years. The longevity of the 2000's LED is definitely growing on me more and more. I'll have to look out for the joysticks though - I didn't realize that was a problem!
Hey! Vitas aren't quite old enough yet for me to personally take OEM replacements off the table, so my preference would still probably be an original one at the right price. If you prefer to go third party, I would go through iFixIt. You can find cheaper ones, but batteries are always a bit of a gamble on the cheaper end, and from my experience, they do pretty good sourcing and quality control. No playstation portal is better than ps vita as you guys don't support it in 2011. Stay butthurt that you all can't afford the playstation portal which has more games than ps vita. Fake sony ps vita fans 😂😂😂😂
I wasn't complaining that it was broken, I was elated that it even powered on. I promise you that carelessly shipping "For parts or repair" devices in a loose and disassembled state without disclosure is not standard, even in the cesspool junkyard known as "eBay." Do you work for the pawn shop?
Tremendous work! Gives me an adrenaline rush watching something that was deemed useless to back with a vengeance!
Me as well! Thanks, and greatly appreciate you watching!
@@obsoleteobsessionhey mine psvita is not working (kinda) can you fix it
