    Great video. My Grandmom worked there in Negaunee miners kitchen. Miners took pasties to mine when their shift started. My Grandmom married there with my Grandfather 1914. They moved back to Finland. She teached pasty receipt for my Mom. And my Mom teached it to me. My wife made it in my latest video on you tube. It is our simplified version of Michigan pasty.

    Believe it or not, I stumbled upon
    The Pasty Kitchen here in Los Alamitos, near Long Beach, Ca.
    As a former Michigander now living near Los Angeles, pasties are unheard of here by Southern Californians

    When I lived in the UP I always stocked up on the frozen patsys from walmart. Not only are pastys impossible to find in Florida I cant even find rutabaga make them 🥲

    Pasties originated in Cornwall UK. Just a little something that wasn't mentioned and should have been.

      Not with rutabaga, that was added by the Finns to replace carrots.

    I prefer the Cornish pastie -no ground beef just real steak

      Real traditional Pastie would use mutton, chicken, or Pork. Beef would be too expensive.

    In Michigan, only a heathen puts ketchup on a pasty!
    Salt and pepper or gravy only goes with a pasty.
    They only do that out in Montana.
