The v1 is TV guided while the v2 is ir, I belive that's about the only difference I might be wrong
This explains my lack of success with PGM500 then. I used to get as far away from Pantsir as possible and launch and wondered why it rarely hit.

Another thing with point lock you can do is point lock a spot you think a moving target is going across and if your correct the tv will catch their silhouette as it passes the seeker and aquire a lock
You can lead aim a moving tank with point lock of course, you are right.
Tip for war thunder players if they don’t know. Manually lock on SPAA that are stationary in spawn when you find them. As a console player I am not sure if this applies to PC but the game sometimes does not load all trees and whatnot from a distance, hence finding AA is easy. I personally use the Maverick 65B’s by locking on as far away as possible and fire and forget (that is if SPAA does not move) Again mind you all the debris the missile has to travel through so be mindful of the map layout. Recently it has been very useful fighting Pantsir’s, Flak bus, and 2S6.

After OddBawz most recent video, I think he might have some genuine use for this. Was quite painful, how he was acting like he knew what he was doing while very clearly not being used to the plane and armament.
Odd is a great player for sure, but he didn't play Maverick after the new changes, like the newer TV view, and the pwr & ACQ functions, also he wanted to use the missile only on "track" mode which is fine against a moving target, but if the target was static one should not wait for track lock at all, point lock it and fire and the missile will capture the target mid air few seconds after launch.
@@Hunter_i86 My thoughts exactly. Then again, Gaijin is incredibly poor at communicating these changes. Still his constant comparison to russian missiles a full BR higher and more urked me.

ive been having fun with the agm62er recently, just discovered that you dont actually need a solid lock on aa to kill them, you drop it from +10km away at like 4km altitude and 900-1000km/h, they will glide and the most important thing, once its 3-4km away from the target, if it still on its path, the bomb will automatically lock into the enemy, even if you lock the ground, my best kill was from 20km away, fun times
I would just panic after having that warning when spaa locks friendly

We need to push Gaijin to update the ground sim br and allow us to have the same system as ground RB. If they can pull this off I'd literally never play realistic battles ever again. Hunter you could be the tip of the spear. Ngl I absolutely love the immersion ang gameplay of top tier ground sim. It sucks that it's only playable 2 days out of the week.

Right now, my favorite BR bracket is the semi top tier one, where the 2s6 is the highest SPAA, YAH-64, Mi-35 and A-10 are the highest CAS, I would be happy if it was available everyday.

hello hunter, i got a question for helis, whenever i spawn into one, the collective is already at 47% and i can only change it to 100 and 0 with keys and with scroll it doesn't even work. and it always remains 47 and i have to keep pressing down keys for it to not be 47 and i can't really fly well and land. What is my issue or what is wrong with my helis?

Hey hunter great video! What if our missile has picked the point lock but we want the track lock because we are in range. Is there are shorter way to switch the lock types other than cycling through all our loadout

So in conclusion you can pretty much compare the AGMs to ARHs, right? i fire it in direction to the target and in a specific moment the missle activates it own seekerhead. The only difference is ARHs use radar and the AGMs use TV or IR.
And in both weapon types if you are close enough the missles lock the target immediately.
Same would be with Semi-ARHs and laser guided weaponry. Both ways need you to guide the missle to the target after the launch.

@@Hunter_i86 so when it starts search/track mode, it actally can pick a target around (a small view angle region) the point you fire at? that being said you only need the target not moving out of that region rather than complete still before captured?

What FOV are you using for first person? I fly in Sim with a controller but I always have to scroll the zoom wheel down in order to zoom out and get to see the I strumenti (specially notable with mig29 smt)

How did you turn off the four lines in the cockpit of the plane in simulator mode? Can you tell me what settings you used?

All Mavericks in game are TV, some are optical and some are IR, they all launch with the same principle, lock point or track then fire.
@@Hunter_i86 so optical ones can be fired through the targeting pod or?
@@VOME127 It depends on the plane, has or hasn't a TGP. Now for your bird, it is Gripen C, it has LITENING II TGP and Maverick G, to use these missiles you need to switch to the TGP view by pressing "Targeting Optic View" button then aim at a target, lock and fire.

im not sure what im doing wrong. ill get into the camera and press the lock button and it says PWR then flashes AQR for a second and then just turns itself off. i cant seem to get the point lock until im within like 4km of the ground or target im trying to lock. ill just have to mess with it more

Yes, it does. It will capture the closer and bigger target in the way.

i've noticed that too when looking at replays in tac view. It apparently does if it sees a target at that location and it will start following if it actually captures.

Neither, standard 16\9 monitor. Keyboard and mouse only, I control the aircraft with WASDEQ\Mouse, and free look with ALT + Mouse.
