India is undoubtedly a giant with a much larger economy and will soon become a Geopolitical World Super Power. But on the Pound for Pound list Sri Lanka is WAY AHEAD of India !
There is no comparison, I’m a proud Sri Lankan and I frequently travel to india on work, I go to different cities in India, india is definitely setting up the basic infrastructure in metro cities which Sri Lanka lacks, Colombo doesn’t even have a metro line, whereas in India a city as small as Jaipur has metro for it’s people, every metro city has an airport, we can’t really compare india to Sri Lanka, of course Sri Lanka is nicer and cleaner, I definitely prefer to live in Sri Lanka no doubt, but we can’t compare between both these countries! India is advancing way faster with that kind of population and having to deal with poverty and acres of land

Sri Lankan cities are no where close to India in terms of population amounts packed in small regions. India is advancing way faster because they have lots of money to throw at development. The economy of India is obviously massive and they are already vying for world power spots. So it will happen.

You visited at the right time, the crisis is over, the currency is appreciating, the foreign reserves have increased, remittances have increased, Tourism and export earnings have also gone up, everything is stable there now, hope you have a good time.

Not only tourist of recent times. Travellers of past and Europeans who colonized hear hav written books about Sri Lanka. They all said possitive things. When I read about passage to India I was surprised I feeled it portrays negatively of India.
It's true SL promote tourism but few years ago current President who was a Prime Minister in a former gvt said we are only a 22M nation we dont need 10M tourists.
No matter where I am in the world, Sri Lanka will always be my home, It's the land of my birth, the place that will forever hold my heart and I miss my Lanka 💚.!
This is the same exact city since 2020. all the developments were halted due to lockdowns followed by Covid Pandemic & the economic crisis. Building Material prices are literally 3 times higher than pre Pandemic levels. I hope Sri Lanka get back to developing course with the help of Tourism industry.

Nice Video man. The building what you can see at the 0:08 in the center of the frame is called as Grand Hyatt Colombo Hotel. Hotel yet to be functioned. I was there from the beginning of the construction in Quality Assurance department. Finally I was the Manager of the section. As well as 26.4m height steel pinnacle (55 tones weight) on top of the building was a job fully monitored & handled by myself & shop drawings also drawn by myself. Nice memory...

It is noteworthy that if you had visited this location a year ago, you would have witnessed a vastly different scene. Thousands of people had gathered to protest against the then-incumbent President. In the conclusion of your video, you were standing in front of the Presidential office while protestors occupied the area. The military presence that you observed at that time remains an essential component of security measures in the region.

Sri Lanka is one of the oldest democracies in Asia. So you will find...at times..peaceful protests for various demands...and you may find extra police on streets like the day you went😆. You should visit our real Capital city where the parliament sits as well as Waters Edge area and lots of nature parks.
