Mariah Carey is a singer, songwriter, producer, composer, and director, or co-director to some of her music videos; she can definitely create an album by herself alone without stealing someone's ideas, materials, and efforts. The other one is different.

I don't think this is a fair comparison, Mariah has a really strong set of pipes and she can hit very high notes naturally.

But they kept Ashantis backing vocals. Cristina Milian confirmed she wrote Play, they kept her backing vocals on the chorus, but JLO recorded all the verses with Cristina in the studio. Brandy, wrote Ryde Or Die, the producers gave it to JLO, Jlo recorded the song and kept Brandy's adlib vocals. Natasha Romero, recorded backing vocals for JLO on Jenny From The Block and was in the studio with her. Don't compare people who literally didn't sing a word of their own music, to JLO. What Jlo did, Beyonce did, Rihanna did, and Britney Spears Did. That's that.

Yes, JLo is great at shaking her derrière, her team works miracles. Almost like a vintage Kim Kardashian. It makes sense she's a good dancer and has a good body. When you don't have to spend time writing or singing the songs you release, it's nice to spend time doing SOMETHING.

You can’t compare Mariah to anyone at her pinnacle. Since it’s the nature of voices to deteriorate over time I will always compare Mariah at her height when judging her against other vocalists. So, there really are only a few people on this planet that can actually fit that bill.
