I used to visit Stirling every month for meetings in the late eighties. During that time an Indian restaurant used to hold a weekly ‘all you can eat’ buffet for around £10. There was also an abandoned shopping centre construction site in the area. Did it get completed?
I'm born n bred from Stirling. We have the Thistle center and late 90s the Marches shopping centre joined on to it now making it one huge shopping center
Love Stirling. The castle is the best castle, better than Edinburgh. My lad is at Stirling uni. The pub in your last video (Nicky tams) is his favourite pub. I’ve told him to keep an eye out for you 😁
Mazzy, my husband & I stayed in that youth hostel (and I was 41 at the time), we stayed all over the UK in the hostel system - there are some beautiful old buildings put to this use. And you're correct, Andrew Carn EGG ie was a builder of public libraries - in my hometown of Medford Oregon, in the States, the library was built by Carnegie's monies. He saw them as a way to bring knowledge to all, for free.
Municipal buildings are official buildings belonging to a town council: 'municipal' is derived from the Latin word 'Municipium' which means important town. Municipal buildings were important symbols of the pride and success of prosperous towns and their guilds of merchants, but they also served a much more practical purpose of sheltering market traders in wet weather!
Happy New Year to you both and god and covid willing see you both in the New Year, as a tetley bitter drinker I'll will down a John Smiths humbley to you both, take care and hope to meet you both some time later this year

Wow loving the place so far. I'm about to book up my sites and ferries for this years' Scotland tour and I'm going to allow a good week or so to look around here. I honestly never knew it was anything like as nice as that! I too want to go and find Rob Roy's grave. I always thought Carnegie was pronounced kaa-nuh-gee so my version is different to both of you :)
A youth hostel in Australia, is a jail for child criminals!. How about a "swap" video.. Maz maintains the van and navigates a day around, Daz cleans, cooks, washes, scrubs, serves, etc.
@Travel Trolls TV. Come on!... could rate each other's jobs out of 10. And complain all the way... it'd be entertaining. Maybe give each other a bit of your own medicine.
Mazzy is right. Andrew Carnegie's name is pronounced with a hard G. I know because as a citizen of the country where Carnegie became a billionaire, (the United States of America), his name came up a lot in my American history class as well as when I visited Carnegie Mellon Unversity in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which is named after him. Never once was it said with a j sound. So Dan, you can say "Car-nee-gee" as many times as you want, but you're still wrong.
CARNEGIE was an steel producer in America.
Remember CARNEGIE HALL in New York?
M is pronouncing his name correctly.
Great video.
Mazzy wins lol
I love old historic towns. Such a lot of history in Stirling x
Left a like Dan and Mazzy looks nice town hope you enjoy your new trips this year
Wetherspoons was the tax office. So much more potential for Stirling.

You got Jim to fix it for you
Something fishy going on here! :-)

Thanks for the tour Stirling is a wonderful place
