This is really an awesome podcast on fatigue management. The concept was clearly conveyed. These types of podcasts should get more views compared to flashy stupid fitness videos. Once again Thanks for this awesome podcast and your channel deserves more subscribers.

    Awesome episode, guys.
It's kinda funny though, how Boris Sheiko has been doing this for decades and just now others are trying to explain why it works :D

Agree, all the VBT research points to Sheiko programming being very effective.

The Russians did this type of sports research a long time ago. You look at a sheiko type program and think it will be very easy work but the volume gets to you after some time.

@@lanidrac exactly. It's just that, for muscle building, there was this meme saying, "the things sports science is coming up with now... Arnold did intuitively 40 years ago"
The same can be said for Sheiko and PL

Really interesting discussion going on here. I got a few small eurekamoments. Nothing beats hard scientific engagement.

Maybe I should stop "going to war" with the sqaut rack chasing numbers every week and chill out a little bit. Hmmmm

Essentially the effort used to move an RPE 10 single can be used on an ROE 7 or 8 load. Therefore training the ability to output max effort whilst minimising fatigue so you can do it again pretty soon. However the pain and shock felt when the first finger is broken will feel much more acute than when the last finger is snapped. I believe pain and bracing for max effort are highly correlated. The human body and it’s complexity are astounding.

As a younger powerlifter 17yo, going into the physical therapy field as a collegiate powerlifter this is inspiring that data like this is finally being shown in the strength and conditioning field. I do wonder, If this would be optimal for percentage based programs considering the difference of an athletes strength potential on different days. Does this mean everything goes to rpe? As well as the limitations with ego would be an issue. definitely important to record and be honest with yourself doing something similar to this as volume work can at times feel extremely heavy (if cns fatigue) is there. Or on the other hand, hype and arousal is there and the weight feels lighter than it moved.
I would be Interested to see how this would work in a "over reaching" approach pre-meet. Or if it would completely be off the table in this theorem.

What I like is when my body gets used to the training style, I can up volume and/or intensity of sets. But most of all, I need to do some more conditioning.
