Top quality content Marc. Missed out on the OG smoky birch Aventus but the cologne is good, happy to have it.

Great review Marc! I am enjoying this scent more and more. The opening citruses smell so fresh and vibrant but as you mentioned in your review they quickly recede. After that, I’m left with a well balanced mixture of woods, citrus and faint sweetness. The fragrance also has a slight marine aspect as well.
Overall, this is a masculine, uplifting cologne that is perfect for warmer weather. My only real complaint is that I wish the fragrance projected more and for longer. But I guess that is the trade off we get when a “high” percentage of the fragrance is natural.
Appreciate your thoughts, I don't think there's much natural in here honestly but they do spend to get some of the better materials.

I get same as what you've described. I also get a touch of vetiver and some patchouli. Creamy nuance i think is from the sandalwood. I think to honour the original Aventus; they should have had a prominent pineapple note.
You get some greens eh, well I'll keep my nose on that.

I love the review. Just bought this bottle this week. Couldn’t smell anything after 30 minutes for a $325 bottle. 5-6 hours laterI got a compliment from a coworker as she could smell a scent trail. As much as I love compliments, I need more longevity to enjoy it for myself

Top 3 Aventus behind VIW and Erolfa…you nailed it wish the opening stayed as it’s the reason most gravitate to this. I use it at the office as it doesn’t offend anyone. It’s safe…for better or worse

I still think that Aventus is one of the best openings from a fragrance that I have ever tried in my entire life, IMO Aventus is an event not just a fragrance, it's not successful just by luck, do i love it? No, and I don't use it very often, fresh fragrances are not my thing, ambers, woods, tobacco, booze, even florals, I love, I even prefer the "inspirations" or "hybrids" from other brands: Morning Chess, Electimuss Imperium, etc. etc. but, also I don't spray them very often, Creed as a brand just doesn't inspire me, and I will never buy any other fragrance from their current line, the prices are ridiculous, but it's just me, I respect people who love the brand. I like Viking but OG Aventus is more complex (maybe not in an apparent way) and more unique (well, at the time of the release). The Cologne is redundant a little (current formulation already smells like a a cologne version to the vintage) but probably is better for younger audience (younger but not young 😊). The mandarin is great in the opening and the vetiver in the base is done nicely. It does have strong presence of the OG Aventus DNA and is a true flanker, great release!

A lot of great context in the intro Marc. It's true, it would actually be a little strange if Creed did a full-on resinous incense, rose-oud or gourmand. That versatility perhaps one of the reasons they did so well? For me though, Viking Cologne was a complete flop. A $15 fragrance worthy of the SDM rack for 100 mL. 🤭 I remember testing it alongside PdM's Sedley and felt the same way about both. Doesn't mean they can't bounce right back! If they do a solid Royal Oud or Spice and Wood flanker, I'll be paying attention. 🧐

This is a good one. Love aventus cologne. So much more wearable for me. Fresher and cleaner for what I need it for. The og turns very dingy and sort of animalic not in a good way smelling on my skin later.

was interested to hear your thoughts when this popped up. personally find it to be an inferior version of the original, loses the best parts & slots in a more generic styled base. with how Aventus has got brighter & fruitier over the years there wasn't a need for a Cologne version and if there was this isn't it.

To my nose, Viking cologne is very different from Viking. Viking cologne is my favorite creed offering, I highly recommend a try!!

Viking's obstacle was the price. It's a very nice scent, but the retail price for it is ludicrous.
I am probably done acquiring Creed unless I spot a great deal on a 4-oz bottle of GIT. I don't think I'll ever have faith in anything that comes out after their acquisition. They were bought specifically to milk the brand for cash, so it's inevitable that decisions made on ingredients will increasingly skew to the "cheaper" and those made on how much water to add will also inevitably skew to the "more" side of the scale.
Does not seem they are releasing anything new in the men's aisle anytime soon anyway... wondering what's going on over there tbh
I really wish they would rerelease Selection Verte. I found out about it thanks to you and had a 10 ml decant some 5-6 years ago, but was never able to procure a full bottle of the stuff.
Sadly I think those older Creeds are gone for good.

Better than Aventus, seemed to be a little sparkling and fizzy on my skin. Still meh and not purchase worthy for me. As far as Creed goes I own and love SMW and GIT.

Try it beside Mancera’s Cedrat Boise that you got a little while ago.
I’m telling you it’s the Creed version of Cedrat Boise lol. Aventus Cologne IMO is over priced and the longevity isn’t the greatest. I recently got my nose on Viking Cologne, and that one IMO was better Cologne flanker, and much more interesting.
I’d get Aventus Cologne if if could find it at a decent price, might get a partial, but am in no rush to get it. Viking Cologne though, I’d be more willing to shell out the dough for it.
Interesting, I'll def. try CB beside it. Also when I wrote this one, after shoot I felt the scent turned a little designer'ish.

I gotta admit I got carried away with anticipation for this one & pre-ordered it. Two weeks later I sold it on Ebay. Big, big flop, for me at least.

I've never really anticipated a cologne release , but I cant wait for Elon musk's 'Bunt Hair' , the Frag comms reviews are gonna be hilarious.
To me this is like Explorer with [a tiny bit] higher quality. The opening is the magical part which lasts about 2-5 minutes on me. It's not a bad fragrance but NOT worth the price in my opinion.
Agreed, the magic is in the intro then it start falling a little flat to my nose as well. It's early in my journey with it but I felt the same way, once I was done recording this the scent felt very designer.

I don't know what ya smelling vs what I'm smelling but this in no way smells better than the original Aventus. The best aventus isn't even Aventus. It's Hacivat. Case closed hands down. Not aventus cologne not CDNIM. if u want the best juciest aventus DNA get Hacivat
