That dude next to you in the lounge was clearly your biggest fan! 😂
The chap next to you in the lounge looks like he wants to end it all.
He certainly did.
I understand him.
Would 100% recommend visiting Croatia. I love flying from western Europe to Split, the views are amazing! The approach is a special one. Sit on the left side for best views.
NEOS is no longer just a “holidays carrier” but is diversifying its offer to ethnic and “business” passengers, especially in MXP, that is its main focus airport. In this view must be seen the service from/to Almaty, serving both Kazak tourists and expats and (hydrocarbon) Italian companies having affairs in KZK. FYI NEOS is linking MXP direct to New York, Toronto, Amritsar and 2 China destinations, with plans to further add intercontinental routes in its portfolio.
Noel needs to figure out his personal life before making more videos his wife is on deaths doors

Omg, they have Meggle Butter. Always amazing to see stuff produced near your home town in completely different parts of the world!
a confluence of chaos, Noel! airport, lounge, gate! quite something! Almaty must be one of those cities that "never sleeps" or something like that! the crowds at 3:00 am were amazing to behold! intriguingly, not many in the crowd seemed sleepy... Cheers!
Croatia is absolutely worth a visit. We were there in August and the sea is breathtaking!!
Noel, I'am sure this route now picks up a lot of people travelling to/from Russia as options are really limited now
Not really. Transferring trough Istanbul is pretty simple - also there's daily direct bus services from Helsinki and Tallinn to St. Petersburg. It's more difficult, sure, but their options aren't that limited
@@gaedzable is the Helsinki bus still running? I thought that route was closed down....
@@gaedzablesurprised they still operate, do you know by any chance who takes these routes?
@@redademeKazakhstan is considered to be a Russian-friendly country so it’s relatively easier for Russians to fly there before heading elsewhere. Apart from Dubai and Istanbul, this is one of their few remaining options - but will still cost an arm and a leg to get out of Russia.
I want to say something about this gentleman I've been binge watching his content for a couple of days and the biggest thing I've noticed about his content he hasn't changed his flight experiences alot of TH-cam content creators as they get more and more $ from their channels they loose touch with what made their channels enjoyable.you sir have not done that you keep the experience relatable and on a affordable level for the ordinary person ...thankyou that's really really outstanding.
Thank you for your kind words.
That's crazy 3 in the morning, omgosh ❤ . Iam starting to get hooked on this channel. Nice 🎉
Glad you enjoy it!
So apparently more than 12% of Kazakhstan exports in 2019 (approximately $7.25 billion) went to Italy, second only to China, and most of any other country in Europe! The Italian state oil company owns a 16.8% stake in the Kashagan oil field in Kazakhstan's Caspian Sea basin, and a 29.25% stake in the Karachaganak gas field with the Kazakhstan state oil company KazMunayGas. So it would make sense that a good number who fly this route are Italian workers! But I also understand why people would want to visit the country on a holiday! You have incredible natural beauty like the Charyn Canyon and Ile-Alatau National Park, rich history, it's quite affordable, the warm hospitality, and not to mention the cuisine!
The thing is, while Kazakhstan initially hated Borat, they later embraced it when the Borat movie actually boosted their tourism. They even adopted "Very Nice" as their official tourism slogan in 2020! This is despite the fact that the "Kazakh" village in the movie is really a Romani village called Glod in the middle of Romania. All the extras were villagers of Glod who got paid to be in the film and were told it was a documentary. They felt insulted by their portrayal when they later learned what it was really for after the movie was released and tried to sue to no avail. In the sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the village was yet another Romani village in Romania called Albesti.
Last time I was in Almaty, I went to that lounge - a very similar experience with the woman at the door, except she didn't direct me to a cafe (it was the afternoon). Inside there was nobody, not even a member of staff. When he arrived it transpired that everything was charged for. At least I could sit down, but it was so alienating that very soon I went back out to the departure gates. As you've said elsewhere, the Kazakh experience is very varied - but Iove the country and will be back in May.
My memory of MXP was for a RyanAir flight, we landed around midnight, boarded the waiting bendy buses, they did a big dramatic u-turn and then we walked right back off the bus into the airport. We must have been on the bus for less than 30 seconds and everyone laughed at the ridiculousness of the ride.
Holidaying in Kazakhstan is a sentence not commonly uttered, I myself however quite like visiting the less tourist swarmed locations, guaranteed to have an authentic and lovely experience without the headaches of touristy places like Paris, London or Prague.
Been to Aktau myself, enjoyed it. Nothing in the region compares to Uzbekistan though.
That's true ! Many places around the world have been completely spoiled by mass tourism and tourists usually get ripped off in such places as well. Venice is a prime example of such a place, London and Paris also. Much more rewarding to visit authentic off the well worn tourist trail places 👍
Hey Noel, I can feel the chaos energy in this video, what an experience that was!
A Noel Philips video makes my Sunday complete🙏🏻. Good video as always. And I laughed so hard to the guy next to you at 2:55😂. Definitely not happy that he had to move his bags for you🤣.
I couldn't stop watching him😂
I'm wondering whether Milan and Almaty are used as connecting points from/to Europe and from/to Russia, considering direct flights are not really permitted at the moment.
Yes it's Sunday only one thing for it WATCH NOEL PHILLIPS LOVE IT 👍👍👍👍
Haha, that rush back from the waterlogged Loo Review to the seat just in time for inflight wifi lol . That airport reminds me of China railway stations, utter chaos, though trying to face a full flight at 5am is rough.....
2:55 LOL the guy who moved his bags and now watching Noel talking into the camera
What an interesting experience. We flew to Bishkek with Turkish Airlines last year. Took a 6 hour bus journey to Almaty then took an Air Qazaq flight to Astana. Almaty airport is something else!
In my view a very unique route is the Azores Airlines Flight from Terceira, Azores to Oakland, California. Or the 3x weekly route from Frankfurt, Germany to Yerevan, Armenia by the German Leisure Airline Condor.
The chaos at the gate and busses would make me so anxious. Even watching it made me feel on edge!
Great video as always Noel. I always look forward to learning about the places you go and the planes you experienced
Glad you like them!
Great video and nice Cirrus shirt. My father in law had an SR20 that had the parachute and my husband used it to build his time for the airlines. They sold the cirrus but my hubby is now a captain at Delta so I’m okay with that trade off. We also live in Houston, so would love to meet up sometime to hear about your crazy destinations and my hubby can talk aviation.
Seychelles is 10/10 went on my first deployment. Almost went and was the first time I seriously considered going UA. Absolute paradise
18:00 The Caucuses are so stunning from above, one of the most scenic views on the planet
So there is this really interesting flight from Frankfurt to Whitehorse in Canada. Would love to see a review on that flight!
That route has been dropped unfortunately by Condor.
Thank you for posting your latest video sir, love watching them.
That preflight video is amazing!!!!
I boarded an ANA 787-9 from the ground earlier this year at Haneda. Was great to see the 787 from the ground rather than the usual aerobridge
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Great video. I really, really like that views of the scenery 40,000 feet below were introduced throughout. It would be fantastic to see more such videos where ample attention is given to what's outside the window. I'm a long-time follower of those InFlight Videos that were 100% about outside the window.
Glad you enjoyed it
As soon as as you said Scat Man the tune to 90s dance song came in my head 🎶Be Ba Bo Dabba Do

Lol wow with that boarding proess Kazakhstan must have the most unreal 'Home Alone lost in xyz' experiences
Thanks great Noel, I really appreciate your efforts with love💜🧡💙💚
So nice of you
Neos also flies from Italy to Amritsar
Hey Noel, it seems Neos has quite a few strange destinations such as Amritsar, Cairo, Dakar, Nanjing, Amman, Brno, Rostock, Tianjin, Salalah, Tel Aviv and Colombo.
Geez…that airport is like Costco…forever busy.
Noel,
You have to remember Neos sells connecting flights from Almaty to New York JFK. So the demand is not to Milan, it’s is to New York JFK (which they sell extremely cheap compared to say Lufthansa). Also, they don’t enforce one way headphones in Almaty route I don’t think. Enforceable routes are short-haul European travel agency chartered flights where everyone is booked exclusively from A to B to A, never B to A to B, which happen to make up most Neos flights.
WOO HOO! ❤ 👌🏻 a new Noel video. Keep ‘em coming please!
3:02 this guy is enjoying a front row seat to my favorite TH-cam channel and I’m totally jealous🤣
I’m flying Neos from Rome to La Romana one-way in March to catch a cruise ship back to Italy!
Reminds me of my experience at Porto, Portugal airport on Oct 6th , super busy at 4 am, I had a 6 am flight to Frankfurt. Not quite as bad as Almaty though. I hate early morning flights but it did get me to Frankfurt in plenty of time to catch my 1 pm-ish Lufthansa non stop to Denver on a Boeing 787. Always enjoy your videos Noel!
Great video Noel. Loved the aerial views of mount Ararat wow! Do try Croatia it’s such an amazing place.
Flew Rome to Nosey Be Madagascar with Neos this year, was great.
Central Asia, parts of the Middle East and the Caucasus frequently have very busy airports at the wee hours, due to aircraft utilization.
Hello Noel! Another good video! The beggining was a mass but you have getting to your destiny safe! The best to you! 🙂
4:55 "Scatman's turned up" 😂
Italian universities are popular option for Kazakh students, because it provides many funding opportunities
Was on that Singapore Airlines A350 out of Milan just last week! Great flight again Noel every-time I see your Kazakh videos it makes me want to go!
What inspired you originally to pick Kazakhstan way back? 😁
Scat airlines probably
Except for the new luxurious seats, it reminds me of my youth, and the three times we moved back and forth from CONUS to, then, West Germany on Air Force charter flights...
Most enjoyable great views thanks Noel 👍
Thanks 👍
@@noelphilips 👍
I was just saying to myself, scratch Almaty from your bucket list. That’s when Noel informed us, they’re building a new airport!
Ok it’s back on the bucket list!
I’d say one of the most random routes has to be Condor’s seasonal route from Frankfurt to Whitehorse, Yukon. Operated by a 767!
Lots of German tourists do that route. German airlines have flow to Alaska for tourism also.
@@YukonGhibli yeah I noticed Condor fly to Fairbanks as well. Lufthansa flying to Anchorage I get, just very surprised at Whitehorse!
Neos flies to Amritsar too, another unusual route
I just did a bit of research and it appears that there is a huge trading agreement between Italy and Kazakhstan, also a lot of the main energy producers in Kazakhstan are part Italian owned. So the mix of peassengers could be Italian workers and company executives, as well as Kazakhstani tourists and executives too.
At 6:42 the flight attendant was super happy to see you boarding, Noel ;)
Great video Noel. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Great upload Noel. Checking FR24 it looks like the 787 has been swapped for a 737-800. 😊
A really good video, i love watching your videos! you should try tui's route from London to sarajevo or manchester to ohrid they seem very strange routes:)
I love Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 one of the most beautiful countries in the world!
Neos flies to New York-JFK from Milan-Malpensa, but that's at least a more tourism oriented destination
I think I'd rather be on the EK A380!
Love it - awesome video Mr Philips
Noel u seem to be spending a lot of time in Kazakhstan
Another interesting vlog
Almaty doesn’t look like it has changed since I last few through it a decade ago. The international airside lounge was way too small even then. If you think that was bad try boarding a 767 to Thailand via air stairs at dawn in mid December when it is the wrong side of -20. Your choice is frost bite in Almaty or heat stroke in Bangkok…
Watching your Cayuse at the airport from the comfort of my pad in Thailand having tea😂❤
In the 70s I took an Intourist trip around Soviet Central Asia that involved a late night flight from Moscow to Alma Ata. That airport then was more like a provincial railway station with no facilities whatsoever.
Watching from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 with my Noel Phillip's socks on.there excellent.
Great video Noel. Love it when you fly airlines like this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another very enjoyable video Noel! I wish Air Canada Premium Economy looked like that! Looking forward to the next adventure.
Ooh I spot Air Baltic there. Wouldn't mind a review Noel. We used them a few times. Check out Tallinn
I think this flight is becoming popular might be because Kazakhstan might be looking to develop its tourism sector with cheap tourist flights from Europe and temporary workers in Kazakhstan and Central Asia going to Europe.
You're videos are great, only fools and horses is a great show.
I've gotten ads for roundtrip to Almaty on Neos from JFK for like $500 it's tempting...
I know Singapore Changi gets busy at night but Almaty at 3am is just bonkers. Many Australian airports I know of aren't anywhere as busy even at the peak hours.
Call that staff member who showed up for a different flight "scatman" seems a bit unfair though /s
Thanks for the video
Another unique route that Neos flies is Dakar, Senegal.
At least Dakar makes more sense, there are palm trees, you can sit by a pool or beach, and you can even go on a safari. The only reason to go to Kazakhstan is to see Borat. 😂😂😂
And Nose Be, Madagascar
Condor’s Frankfurt to Whitehorse, Yukon! (28,000 population)
Actually I did take this exact flight about a year ago. The food was amazing!
Edinburgh to Vagar on the Faroe Islands is a random route on an Atlantic Airlines A320 or A320NEO
Chaos at the airport, silly amenities kit, dirty bathroom, and bad airplane food, not the best way to start your day. In typical Noel Philips fashion you continue to smile. Enjoy your stay in Milan. See you next week and safe travels.
22:52 A Departure gift of Ricola whatttttt
top content Noel, thanks matey
I flew Neos in June and they were surprisingly good
19:36 Ontario/LA Airport is a long way from downtown Los Angeles like this airport in Milan. I know there’s high populations in Ontario California but it is a long distance away from LA compared to LAX. But China Airlines flies an A350 between Taipei and ONT. It’s one of a handful of any widebody planes at ONT, nearly all are cargo, and the other flights are domestic. The only logical reason for this flight I could find is that Asian population is high to the East of LA, and ONT is a very quiet easy Airport to use. You should check it out Noel 👍
Flights from Seychelles to Maledives blows my mind, who would travel from one paradise to another in one trip
I had a Scat Air flight coming out of Aktau in Kazakhstan and it was the most chaotic thing ever but I relished it.
There is an interesting Flight between Milan (MXP) and Barcelona (BCN) operated by Singapore Airlines A350
2:54 the person next to you just randomly staring into my soul hahah love it
That was good. Shame you couldn’t have a stop over in POS as I’ve had British friends from there and love to go to Trinidad. I wonder if Carribean Airlines is the old BWIA?
This reminds me of Luton Airport 20 years ago.
Semi-unusual flight is delta from CVG Cincinnati to Paris CDG. Serves Cincinnati headquartered GE Aviation and Safran
I was wondering if you would do a trip to the Falkland Islands or Saint Helena. Both are reachable by regularly scheduled flights but they're definitely off the beaten track.
Absolutely, The Falkland Islands are so beautiful and everything feels homely, even the Weather!
The Falkland Islands has a developing tourist industry, I believe, mainly of interest to those interested in the GB V Argentina conflict of the 1980s, I guess 🤔
There is a regularly scheduled RAF service which you can book from RAF Brize Norton to the Falklands
Yea Noel, go see the Falklands.
Go hug a penguin or make friends with a sheep!
Come on lad, make us proud!
That exact problem happened to me when leaving from those downstairs gates! Luckily it wasnt so chaotic as I was only flying on a 737 (Ukraine Intl), but the next destination had already appeared on the screen and there was so much confusion!
The holiday airline flies to Kazakhstan because Kazakhstan is very nice
Another good video. At the start wow that was mental in the airport and I bet it was hard because everyone else hardly spoke English. It seemed like a rough landing haha. It was a lovely view at the end of all the aircraft’s but thank you for another good video.
@noel phillips | S7 Airlines operates a flight between Irkutsk & Banok, 6 hour 737 flight.
Awesome video. Hello from Pa USA 🇺🇸.
Great success!
Thank you!
