I usually play league with friends, I can't stand playing alone, and I came to the realization that league is probably the worst game I've ever played, and I've been playing games for 15 years and I've been interested in them since. Out of all the games I've played and I've seen, league if by far the worst, it's not fun, it's a bad game, the game is not fun it's meant to be tedious, slow and make you rage and suffer. Early game sucks cause it's a constant tension because you can't miss cs, you can't die first because that fucks the landing phase, but you gotta kill them cause if you don't you will lose. Every early game is slow as hell and you're restricted by the decisions of your team and their skill, the games usually don't depend on how good you are. Then you gotta keep csing for 20 minutes and securing objectives because if you don't, you're fucked. The fun part doesn't come from the game itself or from you doing something great, but from humiliation of the enemy team, and that's toxic. When you have fun in a game it was because you outplayed the enemy and showed them that they suck and you're better. When you're behind its a nightmare. The games take too long, so you're there for 20 minutes suffering because you can't do shit but the enemy can't end either. There's no counterplay to many things and every game feels like a ranked match. I just compare to smite, a moba that I've been playing non stop since 2014,which has never angered me, which gives me hours of fun playing alone because the matches are fast, you don't have to last hit, you have many game modes, there is counterplay and you can win a conquest match (equivalent to the regular mode for league) without doing any objective, just by playing well by yourself. League is bad, is just such a bad and shitty game that I wouldn't understand how it still has such a player base if it wasn't because of how old it is and how famous it got

I love this video still. Had friends that got addicted to Dota 2 and it felt like I lost them at the time, they played it for 10+ hours a day every day and ignored other things in life and did nothing else, all while having a terrible time with the game. I've lived through the early years of WoW and I thought that was the most soul sucking game I've ever seen. It doesn't compare to what League and Dota does to you. I've never heard of anyone who quit these games just doing it in normal fashion like "I got bored" or "I found other games fun", the story of quitting these games from people always sounds like some heroin addict finally healing from their addiction and having a normal life again. It's not to say you can't have fun with casual play but these games (and many others these days) highly incentivize the whole community of having that degenerate ranked oriented culture. This isn't what the game was like in its early years far back.

this is me with csgo tbh. i moved on to tf2 because all though it's still made by shitty valve, it has a good community so the game is pretty fun to play. toxicity isn't just trash talking, it also involves throwing, cheating, etc. this is why i hate csgo. i used to complain about rng and luck, but it adds an element to the game. what i hate is: feels like the same outcome every game, i either carry the shit out of my team and we lose because they're bad, or i bottom frag and we lose because my team mates get me killed. then you think you find someone who's good at the game because they have good individual skill and high hours, but they dont know how to work as a team or they're a complete cunt so you lose anyways. but if you dont get a noob or an asshole, then you get someone who throws (makes you lose the game) or a hacker who carries you. lol so the solution is to 5 man queue with friends, right? nope everytime i play with friends they rage and dont work as a damn team. despite me being the lowest in hours out of them (meaning im not as good with my aim as them and diff things), i do the best as a team mate because i give calls and actually come up with strategies. we can't even figure out our roles or figure out our plans because since we're on the younger side of the community, we have school, diff time zones, etc. so we have no time to practice being a team so it all fails. another thing is 64 tick isn't as bad as people say it is, but its not that good and it gets annoying at points. that mixed with the amount of toxicity on your team or the other team makes it annoying. solution: go to esea or faceit, where there arent cunts and 128 tick is a thing, right? i think its bullshit that i need to pay to play the game the way it should be played since valve has shit anti-cheat and only bans you for throwing/hacking and not just being a douchebag. nobody is gonna read this or understand this, but seriously. if you ever consider playing csgo, dont. its a waste of time and money. a decently built game with a few small bugs and a large group of edgy cunts who ruin the game.
I feel that your performance in League of Legends has absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing in the game. It's like whenever I win lane my team loses, and whenever I lose lane my team wins.
Old league wasn't like that. Your individual performance mattered alot back then. Due to items/quints/cups etc. You had a huge impact and could carry games. Now it is much more team reliant which is a bad thing when you're playing with apes
@@owainraysor5108 It’s always been like that, that’s what MMR does. It matches you with players of similar skill level so that the chances are as close to 50/50 as possible. If you improve at the game you’ll have a slightly higher win rate and climb a bit til you hit a new plateau as you end up where your new skill level is (and vice versa if you get worse at the game)

I have friends that are obsessed with this game and they complain like 50% of the time they play the only thing that keeps them going is the fact that they get that dopamine from winning a couple matches. Today I think I have played my final League of Legends game. I am uninstalling the client hopefully for good. This game was initially incredible for me, but overtime became increasingly more like a chore to play. It really has lost its soul and it's sad to see because I remember being so excited to boot up the game after classes, the game really was magical. The games take too long, so you're there for 20 minutes suffering because you can't do shit but the enemy can't end either. There's no counterplay to many things and every game feels like a ranked match. I just compare to smite, a moba that I've been playing non stop since 2014,which has never angered me, which gives me hours of fun playing alone because the matches are fast, you don't have to last hit, you have many game modes, there is counterplay and you can win a conquest match (equivalent to the regular mode for league) without doing any objective, just by playing well by yourself. League is bad, is just such a bad and shitty game that I wouldn't understand how it still has such a player base if it wasn't because of how old it is and how famous it got

I love this video still. Had friends that got addicted to Dota 2 and it felt like I lost them at the time, they played it for 10+ hours a day every day and ignored other things in life and did nothing else, all while having a terrible time with the game. This type of game is an infinite timesink designed to waste your life, its fucking soul crushing and so abnormal how many players have tens of thousands of hours in. Being a dunkey fan since 2012 and seeing his career take off after this is so cathartic to me.
If you're a MOBA addict reading this it's not too late to stop. Time is the most valuable resource you have and you never get it back. Please don't waste your life away on a game you don't even like. Find things that give you happiness instead of just pissing you off.

I've lived through the early years of WoW and I thought that was the most soul sucking game I've ever seen. It doesn't compare to what League and Dota does to you. I've never heard of anyone who quit these games just doing it in normal fashion like "I got bored" or "I found other games fun", the story of quitting these games from people always sounds like some heroin addict finally healing from their addiction and having a normal life again. It's not to say you can't have fun with casual play but these games (and many others these days) highly incentivize the whole community of having that degenerate ranked oriented culture. This isn't what the game was like in its early years far back.

this is me with csgo tbh. i moved on to tf2 because all though it's still made by shitty valve, it has a good community so the game is pretty fun to play. toxicity isn't just trash talking, it also involves throwing, cheating, etc. this is why i hate csgo. i used to complain about rng and luck, but it adds an element to the game.
what i hate is:
feels like the same outcome every game, i either carry the shit out of my team and we lose because they're bad, or i bottom frag and we lose because my team mates get me killed.
then you think you find someone who's good at the game because they have good individual skill and high hours, but they dont know how to work as a team or they're a complete cunt so you lose anyways.
but if you dont get a noob or an asshole, then you get someone who throws (makes you lose the game) or a hacker who carries you. lol
so the solution is to 5 man queue with friends, right? nope
everytime i play with friends they rage and dont work as a damn team. despite me being the lowest in hours out of them (meaning im not as good with my aim as them and diff things), i do the best as a team mate because i give calls and actually come up with strategies. we can't even figure out our roles or figure out our plans because since we're on the younger side of the community, we have school, diff time zones, etc. so we have no time to practice being a team so it all fails.
another thing is 64 tick isn't as bad as people say it is, but its not that good and it gets annoying at points. that mixed with the amount of toxicity on your team or the other team makes it annoying.
solution: go to esea or faceit, where there arent cunts and 128 tick is a thing, right?
i think its bullshit that i need to pay to play the game the way it should be played since valve has shit anti-cheat and only bans you for throwing/hacking and not just being a douchebag.

I feel that your performance in League of Legends has absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing in the game. It's like whenever I win lane my team loses, and whenever I lose lane my team wins.
Old league wasn't like that. Your individual performance mattered alot back then. Due to items/quints/cups etc. You had a huge impact and could carry games. Now it is much more team reliant which is a bad thing when you're playing with apes

If you improve at the game you’ll have a slightly higher win rate and climb a bit til you hit a new plateau as you end up where your new skill level is (and vice versa if you get worse at the game)

He was a niche channel at best then, even within the gaming category. Now he's one of the top non-viral youtubers, regardless of category, and even quite influential to gaming in general. Players, streamers, and even developers reference his quotes and content. Every new video he makes is so widely viewed it makes it into "greatest hits". Over half of Knack mentions on the whole internet are Dunk jokes. If he had not quit, he might still be a niche channel only LoL players watched.

I think Dunkey was scared of losing his audience, which makes sense. But two years have passed, and he's still popular. I think that's a testament to the quality of this channel. People came for League of Legends, and stayed for Dunkey. =)
The channel and his content have also improved steadily since quitting league. It's kind of strange how the person that was supposedly toxic found greater success and a brighter future away from that community, but the community that calls him toxic is still a dumpster fire even after he left... I wonder what conclusions we can draw from that.

I like how all the hardcore LOL players are bashing dunkey for what he said while denying that they have done things wrong. When I started playing the game against bots, I thought it was pretty fun, then when I was a high enough level to play against other people, I immediately saw how cancerous the community is. I forgot to buy this ward thing and literally every single person on the server announced in chat that they were reporting me. I have not touched the game since.
