About this game:
Gordian Quest is an epic roguelike / lite adventure that combines the best elements of deckbuilding, tactical combat and strategic decision-making. You will form parties of heroes whom you will have to lead and manage on grueling missions. Help them forge bonds and discover new skills among them. Be fearless and unwavering as you work to unravel the curses laid upon the lands and defeat the ultimate evil at the heart of it all.

Also in all seriousness, this is the first roguelike deckbuilder NL has done that I honestly really wanna try out. Idk exactly what but this seems to hit different!
Because it's basically a roguelite RPG first, deckbuilding is just the mechanics on which the RPG is built.
This one seems like one that could flourish as a series, I feel like the mechanics as well as storytelling are pretty polished and enjoyable, might be good to see more of this!
Sadly only one level so far though, might not have as much longevity
@@emikochan13 Probably the only reason he hasnt started a series yet (and maybe cause his schedule is already full)
honestly though one of my favourite things about STS is it's just like "pick a fucker and go, what do you mean 'story'?"
@@emikochan13 The "one level" takes about 3 hours to finish. With 6 different starting characters, that you can then hire during the game and 480+ cards... I'd say you have time to go through a lot until Act 2 arrives. Got the game yesterday, spend 6h on it, haven't succeed in the first act yet. I should play on normal I think :)

According to your UI when you made those fate rolls, "Fate 1/1". "Mathematically guaranteed!" That bit was really funny.
Possibly he was thinking it was going to give him max fate, I think he just didn't read it tbh.

I really want to see NL play more of this. Though I do have to say, he made a lot of mistakes as eggs do.
Primed shot is anything that says Primed Shot in the Description of the card, so your long shot bow would have dealt the extra damage.
Your Steel Edge deals 14 per each mana spent. It's like Skewer in Slay the spire.
You can move into an allies spot, it just moves them out of the way.
I don't know why, this just hits different and is so great.

I dig the blend of mechanics (strategy, card-based, undead evil to be vanquished). Another game to get lost in. Looks great!

As someone who's been playing deckbuilders since Ryan was knee-high to a grasshopper, and knowing that Slay the Spire is a below average one at best, it's depressing that he sees it as the standard to compare others too.
This however shows a lot more promise and is something I could get behind.

Hey Ryan, have you ever played Baten Kaitos? It's kinda one of the first deck-building full RPGs that you collected ways of attacking, not monsters. A bit more anime than what you usually like but it may be cool to see the origin of the idea.
This looks so good! I like slay the spire but it felt to me like it was missing substance. This feels like it has everything Slay is missing for me!
Look at NL up in these comments. I think the Egg has hatched and become the immortal galaxy brain we all knew he could be.

this seems pretty good. Maybe a bit too busy but after a few rounds it looks like it could flow well.
On the one hand, this would make a great series. On the other hand, I'm already getting an ulcer at him not reading the god damn cards, so I'd hate to see what a full suite of episodes would be like.
This HAS to be a new series. Either that or One Step from Eden. Puhleeeaaseee NL. ❤
Slay the spire is 2020’s slay the spire
When I saw Slay the Spire i thought it was rougelike and was waiting when did the actual rougelike mechanics come in play but then I realize this is basically darkest dungeon with slay the spire and megaman battle network elements
Very good game!!!! Inspired by Slay the Spire and other games, yet it feels unique and polished. Wishilisted for sure.
Mmmm maybe the beauty thing about spire is the simplicity, this game gain a lots of dimension in complex and thinking and maybe thats something stresfull for some people that want a simple game to have fun, or well, at least a complex enough game to have fun, personally for example, i get bored playing chess, thats why i play videogames haha
