DAMN Jane's like 'Jacob is just too boring to care about'. Like she's speaking the truth. Jane: I have a problem with his employer Me: But wait Miranda's Cerberus too? Drake: *brings up my point* Jane: He's not important to me or the mission Me: OH GOD SHE'S JUST FUCKING BURNING HIM. Jacob is dead. He's being sent into the shaft because it's the only interesting thing he ever offers to do.
@@double-helix-22x22yya, but he has very little redeeming qualities imo. Garrus cheating would be emotional conflict (not saying I need this), Jacob cheating is just another point on the unlikable list. @@double-helix-22x22y I wouldn't mind a romance storyline where the guy cheats and it's overall a bad match bc that could be an interesting narrative to explore, but from start to finish jacob's "romance" is so poorly written it's unbearably cringe to even listen to
@@double-helix-22x22yWrong element zero exposure and that story about his instructor make Kaiden worth it. Much better than Jacob, who needed a new voice actor.
I just pictured Jane scrawling the little drawing about how badass she looks in her creamsicle armor and handing it to Drake just waiting to see how he likes it.
Holy shit, that 5 minute roasting of Jacob War bloody hailarious. I thought that I did not like Jacob but it would seem that Jane has me badly outmatched in that regard.
I'm REALLY interested in seeing how things play out with the rest of the loyalty missions and the IFF mission. Will Jane choose to do the IFF mission early and unknowingly doom her crew? Will she go in to the collector base without finishing squad loyalty missions? Who will she choose for specialists and fire team leaders in the suicide mission? What will her reasoning be for all her choices? Man the finale of this series is going to be CRAZY
I’m scared when the final mission starts, she chooses Jacob because he volunteered himself and she’s says “Jacob volunteered himself and I believe in his skills” sort of line. This play through really has me on the edge of my seat and I haven’t felt this way since I first started playing this game.
@@igniskitsune887 Same here! I haven't felt this legitimately scared for these characters since my first playthrough. Miraculously, my first playthrough went smoothly with no deaths. Mostly because I'm a completionist, but I also made solid choices in the final mission. I'm REALLY unsure of how the AI will perform, ESPECIALLY since Jane is seemingly refusing to do Jacob's loyalty mission. 😆
Jane gave the best arguement I ever heard against Jacob: It's nothing personal, but 1) Jacob is way too loyal to Cerberus, and 2) While Miranda is even more loyal, she's also an asset worth having around, while Jacob wouldn't be much indistinguishable from another soldier, even with biotics.
Not gonna lie. I'm proud of Jane for being so instinctively disinterested in Jacob. He's boring, he's an insensitive jerk to *several* squadmates, and he's just not that reliable. He's not even that smart - he volunteers for a *tech* job on the basis of it being a suicide mission. What the fuck, man. And that's not even touching him in the third game. Pleased but surprised to see her branching out from All Garrus All The Time. As an aside... I just cannot stand the Viper. I understand that it can be effective, but it just doesn't feel right as a Sniper Rifle. I _need_ that single-shot punch that the Mantis and the Widow have. ...Hold on. Is Jane watching your gameplay? Because goddamn, you use the Sniper rifle a LOT, and go figure she goes for the Sniper.
If it was apathy she'd get around to talking with him without any hard feelings. But Jane is actively avoiding him and saying that he should "shut his mouth". That's not apathy, that's disgust. I don't disagree that there's nothing special about him; making him seem uninteresting compared to the rest of the exotic crew. But from the beginning, I've always got the impression that Jacob genuinely cared about Shepard's safety, and their over-all mission. He puts his very best of himself on the line. But because he's "just a dude" he gets overlooked. It's sad.
It is interesting to think about who brings the most and least to the table when it comes to the mission success. Jacob is a specialist for 2 choices in the suicide mission being the fire team leader and he is responsible for the Normandy aromor upgrade. It turns out Mordin, Zaeed & Kasumi kinda bring the least the table. Mordin only provides the seeker swarm counter measure and I guess access to the lab portion of the ship. Kasumi is one of the tech specialists and thats it. Both kasumi and mordin do not help the holld the line score. Zaeed only helps with the hold the line score being tied for the most points granted for it. I think Garrus bring the most to thr table providing the upgraded gun, team keader twice and tied for the highest hold the line score. Jacob only has 1 less contribution overall than Garrus.
Jane I love Jacob but I agree if Miranda did not meddle with finding his father he was already loyal to the mission and he was emotionally stable. He becomes messed up after finding out his dad was jerk. But he was loyal to mission and what the ai said made so much sense to not feel the need to talk to him. 😂
I like how the cops on Ilium don't actually do much of anything. They reluctantly hold the Justicar who's been meting out vigilante justice but aren't happy about it and are fully aware of the assassin coming to kill one of their wealthiest citizens but aren't really that concerned.
I ended up rewatching the Jacob discussion part because I wanted to watch something funny before going to sleep. I just have to say, with fridge logic settling in, it's rather surprising that AI Jane didn't say something like "if you think Jacob could have something interesting to say we'll go talk to him" when you brought him up. Seriously you went to bat for the guy hardcore and she was completely against even entertaining the mere idea of even something such as "okay I'll have a small chat with Jacob to see if he has anything to say". It's really something how anti-Jacob the AI is. I mean I have my grievances with him since I romanced him on my first playthrough, and ME3 outright trashed that. However, I still talk to the guy at least before letting the seeker swarm eat him in my SMs now.
I like Jacob and his romance, and I also like how efficiency-oriented Jane is. You really don't have time to clean everyone's mess - especially of Cerberus people who are TIM's responsibility - when people are abducted in thousands. She trusts Jacob to do his job and he does it, it's very realistic professional relationship
Wait you like? Jacobs romance???? He literally cheats on you and gets another lady pregnant... Like even if it's good in 2 it's so disappointing in 3 except the option to punch him in the citadel dlc
@@laurencarter8855 It's good in 2, yes. Particularly the moment where Jacob and Shep have a talk about what concerns her - it contrasts how Jane and Garrus only talk about sex until the deal

Yeah, I didn't really care for Jacob either. haha When you have the choice to Transfer EDI into the new body, I would make the suggestion that it would be a good idea just in case. P.S. I hope yer going after Tali and/or Legion soon..
Even AI thinks Jacob is meh. Probably the only good thing about Jacob is that he is a good squadmate for an early game. I mean, really, in terms of game balance: with him and Miranda you can easily complete any recruitment mission before going on Horizon. After that though... you get Grunt who's much tankier, deals more damage with his assault rifle, still has crowd control ability and can learn incendiary ammo for your squad. Still, it is good to see Jacob in ME3 being a happy family guy (never romanced him, probably never will).
Have to say the music your playing during missions is awesome 👌. Any chance for the name of the track you used during the tower mission in this episode?
