  • These old Hilti TE55 hammers where quality tools. But hilti being hilti, no longer supply the spare parts for them.
They where lasting to long for hiltis liking.
This will be the last one I can repair. this last sleeve is a second hand part of a scrap machine. and it's the last one.
unless someone is selling copy ones online, these cam no longer be repaired.
a real shame as these really where quality machines, unlike modern Hilti tools.

We used the machines in the 90s in our apprenticeship back then. I violated them for hours and days, I never saw a broken one. The best machine i have ever used in my life.

I do hope Makita is not going the same direction as Hilti did in the past regarding quality... but in respect of some Makita tools I really do have my doubts lately.... 🤔

Hey, thanks for the information - I will be attempting the same(?) repair sometime in the future on my TE 56. So, please forgive me if thiere is an obvious answer to my next question: Is the part that was broken in your video something that could be 3D-printed? Maybe possibly 'repaired' with epoxy or JB Weld?
I have a very strong aversion to throwing something out for lack of a way to repair it - replacing/re-buying tools is the worst, esp. when a tool is mostly functional, but not all the way!

@jimmiejaymes - I totally agree with your last sentence. I am fixing tools myself for a hobby because I hate throwing things away when tools are working for except for a small part...
3-D Printing might get good results, just give it a try !!
