It's easy to look back on our past selves and shudder at who we once were. Likewise, it's very easy for people to look at us and tell us what we're passionate about here and now is just a passing phase and it's inconsequential. But different phases in our life mean so much more. This Christmas, Virgil deals with a very similar problem as he attempts to keep the spirit of Halloween going well into December! Hope you all enjoy!!

Emily Hill I don’t think they’re _villains_ , per-say. Evil, yes, but evil as in, it’s in their nature, if that makes sense.
Eg. It’s evil that a wolf eats other creatures, but that’s because they need food. Deceit makes Thomas lie because that’s what he was “born” for, same with Remus, and same with Virgil.

Okay I'm glad the message from Anxiety is that referring to all of these parts of your life as "phases" is a damaging way to look at it especially since they make you into who you are as a person, and it implies you can just get over it. I'm not personally part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I'm certain anyone who's had their gender or sexuality called a "phase" will appriciate the message.
As a bisexual, we hear all the time "that's not real, it's just a phase, you'll grow out of it". Very annoying lol
I wish more comments talked about this message, because for me it's very reassuring. That even if I "fix my anxiety" by like, 30, the years I endured with it shouldn't be boiled down to "a phase". This can apply to anything too.

I feel like since Virgil wasn’t there in Janus’s name reveal episode, we’re definitely going to be getting a Virgil/Janus backstory episode where some of their past is going to be explained, because I feel like Janus isn’t going to become fully a part of the group until whatever happened between him and Virgil has been addressed or fixed. Also, that quote really makes me wonder. I feel like the first part of Janus’s accusation was leading up to Virgil’s reveal of how he used to be a dark side, but that last quote leaves a lot to be wondered.

Soooo...if the headcanon about Virgil's side type changing is true...would it be fair to say he's going from Anxiety to Vigilance?
I mean, Vigilance means seeking out dangers and difficulties so the means to avoid them and handle them can be found. That's a lot of Virgil, but described in a more positive way. Much like a light side would be described. :D
That could explain why Virgil could be feeling so...lost right now. Vigilance is Anxiety but described in a positive way.
He's been making changes in his behavior ever since the others showed him his job isn't bad and is actually extremely helpful. Because of that, his role and dynamic in Thomas' head is different.
While he did his job by exacting fear before, he is a lot more respectful and firm now. He isn't doing his job in a negative way anymore. So the fact that he doesn't scare the others anymore...Virgil might be having an identity crisis of his own.
He's been Anxiety for so long...the idea of being something else...is scary. And he wouldn't know if it's good or bad because it's likely never happened before. He's like a teenager becoming an adult. He's discovering himself after being a certain way for so long...and it's too early to see if his new role is good...much less as effective as his original role.
If my job was one way for so long and the possibility of it evolving came to the table without me knowing, I know I'D be worried and scared. And if I was like Virgil and had difficulty conveying his emotions unless push came to shove...it must be frustrating that nobody is noticing.
This is just a theory tho, but I hope it makes sense. :)

I feel like Logan would know that Frankenstein isn't a doctor; he's actually a college dropout, deadbeat father, & responsible for the murder of 6 people. Logan wouldn't want to dress as a bastardy failure, however he would find Frankenstein's monster a more appealing figure. The monster is as intelligent as the grown Frankenstein at less than 1 year of life, he operates by way of the scientific method, he's cold & calculating, well spoken & well read for having TAUGHT HIMSELF LANGUAGE, & acts on mindful planning rather than emotion. So yeah, I fully believe that Logan would rather dress as the monster than as Frankenstein.
Did I mention that Frankenstein is an awful, awful character?

Virgil and Deceit’s past:
1. Deceit says Virgil has “always” been funny. Referring to a long past between them
2. Virgil seeming scared of Deceit (in my opinion at least) but trying his best to keep Deceit away from the fact he’s very anxious
3. Virgil being told “one day you might get rid of us all” by Deceit. It shows Virgil isn’t quite free of the dark sides yet. (Comment if you want my theory on Virgil’s relation with the Dark Sides as a whole
4. Virgil mutters to himself that deceit “better run” but doesn’t say it to Deceit. Which maybe means if he actually did say something like that to Deceit... there would be a retaliation from Deceit
5. He yelled “nothing!” With a voice which to me, seemed scared. He followed it by “get out!” To make sure Deceit didn’t stick around any longer. This again proves Virgil is especially anxious when Deceit is around.
6. Virgil making his whole statement could have been orchestrated by Deceit, therefore leading Deceit to appear in the end card. Deceit could have somehow forced Virgil to yet again attempt to put distance between himself and Thomas. Sounds like something Deceit would want.
7. Virgil has an evil laugh, just like Deceit. I don’t think Virgil would laugh that... harshly at the others. He could have been told to do that. Virgil doesn’t want to hurt the others, so why would he be laughing and enjoying their fear so much? He’s supposed to scare Thomas.... not the others. I know this one is shaky but I am a geek who loves the Sanders Sides and reads too far into everything.

Virgil’s character development throughout this series is amazing. He softens up to the others (slowly) but then gets scared by that and is afraid of being so vulnerable. Maybe he is afraid that they are going to take advantage of him? Maybe it has something to do with deceit and how he is clearly getting under Virgil’s skin. Maybe he’s worried that deceit (and the other dark sides) are going to use his relationship with the core sides against him. Idk, just a couple of my theory’s.

I have the same theory about the dark sides.I think that he was a part of them before thomas "accepted" him he even spoke about that in the episode, he said "when you deny me, i get frustrated" or something like thatand i think that matches my theory perfectly. Thomas used to deny him until the accepting anxiety episode and my theory is:
Before that episode he was part of the dark sides, he also told deceit that he had grown up (wich also matches my theory) and deceit was somehow trying to bring him back to the dark sides using the fact that he is so close to the others and that he got "accepted" by thomas and the other dark sides haven't
