Excellent to see a GP seeking to convey the most up to date information to the public. Truly taking a holistic approach to health care. Not just prescribing pills but also looking at diet.

Thank you Dr. Balakrishnan! Every psychiatrist in America should be required to watch this lecture.

So fortunate to have Dr Sanjeev in Perth. He helped my husband and myself feel at peace after a 'mainstream terrifying calcium score' due to a history of smoking. Keto/Carnivore (and cessation of smoking) rules.

Amazing work. I'm currently pivoting my Occupational Therapy business to focus on assisting people to achieve optimal metabolic well being across Australia and the rest of the world. Let's do this!

This doctors care plan for his patients sounds terrific. Good kuck with finding that kind of support in UK. It is possible to change your diet and gradually come off your ssri meds using extensive research on TH-cam and I am living proof of that 👍

Great video and some very strong findings. My n=1 experiment certainly worked. I understand Dr Sanjeev is perhaps being risk averse by saying people shouldn't try this without talking to their GP but respectfully disagree. (1) This is a proper human diet and is safer than a standard western diet. (2) Most GP's do not understand ketogenic diets and are in the old paradigm of metabolic health.

From my experience, before I found a GP who is fully clued up on the topic, I was repeatedly gas lit and pushed away from a low carb eating plan to address my chronic suicidal ideation. In fact one told me that "...beef mince is a highly processed food..". 🤔

How can I consult my Doctor when she dose not agree with my carnivore diet and wants me to consume oats and other high carb vegetables
I am a 70 year old diabetic of over 10 years and I've put my Type 2 diabetes in remission on my own with a carnivore diet, I'm on NO medications.

I consult my dr… but mainly for just blood work that I pay into the system for. I do not hide carnivore from them to spare their feelings :). Luckily i have a Dr. that i can actually have a conversation with. You can fire a Doctor just as quickly as they can get rid of a patient. Either they learn or at least listen to their patients or they are history. Keep up the good work!

@@Sabastianspreadworth just eat what you think is right for you. 10 physicians have 14 opinions on nutrition. So who cares that your doc likes oats. You need to become fully responsible for your life. I went against everything what my docs kept telling me because over the years every time I listened to them it made me sicker and sicker. At 24 years old I was pretty much bed bound. They kept telling me there is nothing we can do but symptom management. At first I couldn't even study the primary literature at that time because of my poor English knowledge. Yet I had nothing else to do anyway anymore so I started to study scientific literature step by step.. took so much effort to translate it, to learn the vocabulary. You don't need to be a doc these days to use PubMed and any other scientific literature. There are so many great books about health, nutrition... orthomoleculare medicine.. You don't need to keep obeying your doc. I didn't and now after year's of studying, drastically changing my diet, supporting my deprived body by therapeutic dosages of nutrients I have my life back. I'm 30 now and finally know what it means to have energy. No more " it's probably genetics" chronic illnesses

Interesting that Ketones can only meet up to 75% of the brain's energy requirements (16:23). I just came off a five day fast and my brain seemed to be going 100MPH the last two days. Must have been gluconeogenesis.

This guy is the problem with Drs
Dont ever tell a patient what YOU THINK they want - ask them
Drives me nuts these guys think they know what everyone is thinking and wants

A Dr. or dietician is NOT required to eat low carb whole foods. That is total nonsense.
