- The KTM RC 125 isn’t hard to fathom. It’s the 125 Duke engine in the RC 200 frame. But if you thought that makes for a mild, boring sports bike, you’d be wrong! The 14 bhp engine produced adequate power but the vastly more capable chassis makes you feel wonderful! This is a superb bike for beginners. This is Completely KTM Fanboys bike. This is not faster in Segment, not good on city with this seating Position and 6 gears on 125cc, you will keep gearing your bike. For me this Bike doesn't Make Sense

It is heartening to see manufacturers coming up with mature offerings like RC125, CB300R. These motorcycles may not boast of the best figures in the price bracket but they are products with an intent. Its time the audience understands their USP and stop comparing motorcycles on power & torque.

This is a learners bike. Plain and simple. Not really meant for a budget conscious market like ours but seeing how popular their 200's/390's are, I think KTM decided to launch this. 125cc bikes like these cost upwards of $3k in the US/UK.

I would take this over a RE classic anyday but not over other bikes offering better value for money and performance.
There are far better bikes offering much better performance and package than this overpriced bike such as Apache RTR 2004v, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Yamaha R15 v3 to name a few.

KTM was so focused on the quest if they "can or cannot" that they forgot to consider "should they"... I seriously believe that this is an utterly stupendous bike for its price considering the fact that R15v3 is alredy in the market. And yes the the RC200 is a way better bike to learn cornering than 125 period.

The RC 125 top speed is 136kmph. So it has better top speed than your 150cc bike😂😂

Combustion capacity is not everything, comrade! The bikes are vastly different. Just like a Skoda Octavia RS and Jaguar F-Type- both have a 2.0L engine but one costs 27 lakhs while the other goes past 90!

The RC125 & the R15 V3, both are a beginners dream. But given the price point, it shatters the beginners parents dream.
However, leaving the price, its brought the aggressiveness of its elder sibling in terms of styling and the power is sufficient enough for teenagers wanting to grasp that sports bike feel & of course flaunt a little.
Now all of a sudden I see parents having a soft corner for R15.

finally , we have a proper beginners bike in india, imo. if u start off with this by 30 or something you would be able to ride the biggest displacement bikes.
problem is people compare it with other vehicles which are 25 or 50cc bigger and cheaper.
KTM is trying to have a share of every segment.
No doubt it might be a good learner's bike but in India we do not have Licensing norms like Europe.
Any person irrespective of their age and skills are given license to ride anything irrespective of the power output.
People will buy it because of its fairing and roam on the roads without helmets.
Youths are comparing Royal Enfields with the KTMs;
It would be great if people who are buying these purpose built machine also learn some road manners.
