TORNADO Strikes Almost ON TOP OF US! RAW and SCARY! Twister Sisters Full Chase

- We witnessed Tornadogenesis Up Close on this day, July 14th, in 2003. I can't believe it has been 18 years already! As the funnel descended, it made contact with the ground only about 100 feet in front of us. Peggy Willenberg and I were a bit in shock for a moment. Luckily, it was small as an infant. However, it quickly grew in size as it moved into the field and started tearing up trees. There were several tornadoes reported this day, and fortunately no fatalities.

This is one of my all-time favorite chase videos. Spins up in the ditch just ahead of you and in a very short period of time appears to be uprooting trees.

Melanie, in the final frame about 120 Seconds before the end, where you could see that lush green field and The Tornado And Entire Cell moving away and The Storm Structure was visible up to maybe 10,000' AGL. That was a great shot! I know that Meteorologists and Climatologist will be studying this Video for generations to come. As you know, as a Meteorologist, I can't get enough of this Video. I hope that you don't mind, but I've showed it to a few Middle School Classes That I've been invited to Speak to about The Weather. The Kids Have Been Awestruck By The Birth of The Tornado right in front of you. That always gets their attention. LOL!

Love your videos… you guys remember the storms of 2011 that hit the south.. we were in Smithville Mississippi when the F5 hit… Smithville is my wife’s home town and we just so happened to be there that day to visit her parents… We were lucky, we were missed by little less then half a mile but you would have thought we were in a huge earth quake… we were in a concrete slab brick house and wow it shook us like crazy…after we settled down from the shaking we noticed lots of traffic on my in-laws street which is kinda crazy cause it’s just back roads…we went to go see what was going on and Smithville took a direct hit… the church we were married in was gone.. the grocery store looked like a bomb went off in it.. and brick houses on concrete slabs where just wiped off the face of the earth… lots of people died that day…I have no doubt in my mind if we had taken a direct hit , my in-laws would have been gone as well… I thank god every day we are still here… later we found out the F5 picked up a car and hit the top of the water tower… crazy right.. it still has a dent today from that car…

If you let your wipers keep going with no rain they will wear out way faster. Also too rain x works decently along with wipers during crazy rain. Stay safe.
