After like 10 losses, it’s mainly out of spite. Though against Justin Wong, I think it’d be more out of sheer determination just to see if you could catch a W against the best player in the game.
@@djhero0071 I've been in a similar situation a couple of times, and of course you can despise someone who keeps winning over you (specially if done so in a dirty cheap way), but for me always was mainly about proving that I could overcome such "strategies". Pride and determination are real motivators.
I think the feeling of despising someone comes from teabagging/straight disrespect and top tiers (like Phoenix in UMVC3). The losses themselves sting but that’s more of a “me” problem than anything.
I would happily go 0-1000 playing Jwong in mvc2

on an aesthetic level, my favorite thing about Marvel has always been the inclusion of non-fighting-game capcom chars, all my faves like jill, wesker, dante, megaman, etc. They beat smash to so many cool things!

Also she has OTG (off the ground) attacks too if u don't roll out of it but who am I kidding talkin bout Jill to u bcuz u cud be a dope aas plyr at this game compares to me hahaha! I think MVC3 broke these characters open. When I watch the lie tiers it’s almost like watching an mvc3 match in terms of combo optimisation and assist utilisation.
sadly, the top tiers will continue to dominate. flashy combos and one touch kills are not enough to make the ground up, but at least they have new material to work with

As a fan of Jill as character (but not necessarily as a fighter in MvC2) thank you for letting her put in some work! I never thought of using the zombies as a combo extender like that. One of those "OMG, that's so obvious and brilliant!" moments. That is wild.

12:06 Jill's block can interrupt a hyper combo. She's even more broken than you realize. And seeing you play Jill reminds me of how I used to play Jill back in the day. Can't wait for the rerelease to show everyone how great Jill is. Also, the shining mode charges up her dash attack causing more hits.

I had to do a double take on when Jill uses her rocket and thought it was caused from a hit from another character, but then realized it’s part of her animation lol. Amazing :D
Jill was definitely one of my faves growing up, I didn't play, I'd watch my older siblings play RE and mvc2

Imagine, with a little balance update this game could be like this all the time with lesser used characters. Even the die hards would love it.
the purists would boycott a rebalance. They'd say not being able to run 99 secs with storm/sent and call commando against 95% of the cast "just isnt marvel"
It would have to be done very very carefully so it doesn't lose it's essence.
And even with that the most probable thing that will happen is that most players will keep playing the original over the balanced version anyway.
There would be basically 2 different mvc2 communities with completely different people that will stick to one of the two almost exclusively, usually the newest one ends up being much smaller in the long run while the old one remains to be the one with the biggest playerbase, we are talking about 10 times bigger.
Examples of this happening are KOF 2002 and 98 against their UM and UMFE counterparts.
I think for it to work they would have to entirely change the game for the better in every aspect possible other than balance so there is little reason to play the old one.
I think ST HD remix tried that but wasn't enough, fightcade is hard to beat, i mean, it's free.
The rebalance is the MVCI tag mechanics.

The big advantage I always gave UMVC3 over MVC2 is how many viable characters there is at a high level. However Justin makes it seem like MVC2 has more viable characters than I thought.
But.....that's probably because Justin is the MVC2 GOAT and not actually the viability of the characters.
