    Three time watching this video, been thinking about a couple new trail cams and keep coming back to your review. Is it still working out good for you or if a new one caught your eye. I like your budget picks is why I keep coming back.

    Great review! How was the battery life ?

      I don’t have any hard data on the battery life, but I haven’t had any issues.
      This camera is also on sale on Amazon for Black Friday. It’s a great deal!

    Does it create large video files (usually AVI) or smaller MP4 files. Maybe share an example of video length, resolution and size in MBs.

    What is that 'click' sound that happens every time the video moves from one clip to the next clip? Is it a firmware 'glitch'???

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not exactly sure. This is not the first camera that I’ve noticed makes that sound. I wonder if it’s capturing some physical sound the camera makes when it’s triggered.

      It seemed to happen quite late, but some cameras have a physical day/night lens filter that clicks across in front of the lens. Animals often notice it. A click and the red glow from an 850nm IR can sometimes spook an animal. 940nm for this camera though.

    I've been playing with this camera for a week. Overall, it's a great camera for the money. My only complaints are: The instruction manual is not adequate, I had to watch several TH-cam videos to figure out how to operate the camera. The motion detector range is only about 25 ft.

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmmm. Seems strange that you are only getting 25 ft. I think mine does better than that.

    Wish the instructions told you how to view the photos an videos on the trail camera? Still trying to figure out how

      I don’t have it in front of me right now but I believe you hit the “ok” button.

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to be in the “setup” or “aim” mode on the internet off switch.

    Very good, concise content to your videos. The video playback is outstanding for the price. Reminds me of a Browning camera.

    Manual says it's 5mp and 30mp with interpolation. I'm gonna try the lower resolution but video at the highest resolution and pics at 16mp weren't as clear as what you got. Would be interesting to know what settings you used. Would guess the defaults. Maybe I got a bad one.

    • @TheBudgetSportsman
      @TheBudgetSportsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I guess I should read the manual. I believe I set the quality to the max available.

    • @shawnort
      @shawnort 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBudgetSportsman It seems to work ok overall. Manual has a typo though for anyone reading. Says up to 256gb memory card. I contacted them and they replied within a day which was quick and told me it takes 64gb cards max.

      For a while I was really liking the dr. Meter camera for a full featured budget camera, but that one hasn’t been available for a while. This one has similar features and price, but seems to be a little more robust and can be locked with a cable lock.

      I always seem to forget that one. I was trying to be concise. This one is infrared.

    My experience with other brands (Victure) using that battery tray design is that it inevitably allows moisture into the unit. Water runs down the sides and drops hang on the bottom. They're either drawn in by some sort of osmosis or by temp changes resulting in air being drawn inside and perhaps some moisture too. Then on a hot day I see that the lens is all steamed up. Maybe this unit doesn't have that problem, but I'll avoid that design. I've mainly noticed it after heavy rain. I also wish there were more cameras allowed up to 128GB cards. The 940nm reduces image quality, but allows more covert recording. I generally prefer 940nm. Also many cameras do not live up to their claimed resolution. Sure, they create files of the specified resolution, but the sensor is rarely high res. Out of 8 cameras, I only have 1 that I consider high quality, so be careful of the marketing. I agree that the lightweight door on the front is perfect to allow lining up the camera and increases waterproofing. I'll keep looking for now. Strengthening USD is not working in my favor!

    I am always overly cautious with unknown brands.

      Most of my cameras are from unfamiliar brands and so far my experience is they are more feature packed and better quality than the cheap cameras you get at Walmart.
