The newborns are so cute! I was searching for what someone said about newborn lambs are wrapped up at birth----unless I misunderstood. Anyway, I found this video and watched. I really enjoyed your explanation of everything. Thank you!

So cute! Thank you for pointing out that letting mama take care of the lambs. Often stepping in can cause more issues than giving them time to figure it out. Nice video.

Great video! I love your channel. You are so easy to listen to and understand. We just got EF ewes a week ago. Excited to breed them and have milk. Good to know about milking and storing the first two days just in case! Thank you!

We were just surprised by our first lamb!!!! It's so adorable, and seems very healthy and happy! Mom and baby are bonding beautifully. Baby is trying to nurse, but I haven't seen it latch on for very long. I'm not out there all the time, but I'm wondering if baby is getting what it needs.

Congratulations Tina! It's an amazing thing isn't it?
To know if baby is getting what it needs, check that he/she is warm to the touch (if they are cold it means they're not eating enough milk) and also check that their belly is not too small/empty looking.
This can be tricky because you're not looking for bloat, but it shouldn't be super skinny either. Also make sure the baby is alert and walking around and not just sleeping all of the time. They do sleep a lot early on, but they should be able to move around quite a bit too.
      Hope this helps!

Also, shearing (if its cold) keeps the ewe from leaving her lamb in the cold.

Nitrile gloves are what we prefer. Sturdy, less allergenic for sensitive people.
