- Today we're looking at some really cool 2000 New Hampshire State Quarter Errors that I found a few years ago!
These 2000 NH State Quarters have some really insane die breaks and cuds on them, and I found more than one with the identical errors!

Yes I found something that looks like the press broke on the coin. It has a distinctive puncture in it that is a moon-shaped. On the face side of the coin. All the images on the quaint you appear to be flattened as if it was double struck.

my sons has a 2000 New Hampshire quarter and your video you talk about error with one of 8's in the 1788 well it doesnt have that but in the first 8 it has some discrepency. im wondering if that could be anything?

Nice video. I love error coins. I think the spots youre seeing on the motto "Live Free or Die" are actually pre-die break depressions. Most folks don't get excited about coins like this but I do. Thanks for sharing.
I found old man on the mountain coin
I live in Spain but have a few quarters laying around. Just for fun I checked and was excited to see I had a 2000 New Hampshire!!! Unfortunately, it is in pristine condition, so doesnt do me much good!!!
Very cool finds. I just found this video because I found the New Hamp with a struck thru grease error and it displays no mint mark. Wanted to see if that is what you had. Thanks Silver Seeker!!

One "error" I came across was a New Hampshire quarter with no mint mark. It does not have any evidence of it ever being there, so I don't think it has worn away. I imagine the press got plugged and the coin made it undetected into circulation without the mint mark. I haven't seen any articles on this defect, so is it common, not considered an error or is it indeed rare?

Does the fact that the man of the mountain is no longer there (its face slipped off On May 3, 2003) make the coin more valuable

Seems to not be much info on it but since you pulled some aside, might be worth taking a look...Got this from a Yahoo article: "The U.S. Sun recently reported that a rare quarter - minted in the year 2000 with an error on it - has sold for $216 on eBay. The coin is part of the state Washington quarters series featuring New Hampshire, but it was struck onto a Jefferson nickel."
I have 2 of these 2000 NH quarters that have the metal plugs in one of the eights in 1788 on the reverse.

I have a New Hampshire quarter 2000 that has the defect next to the 8 and the Old man of the mountain says old man of the mountain. That is indented too, the old man of the mountain. I'm trying to upload a picture of it.. Do you have an e-mail?
My New Hampshire has deep strike beside the 2nd 8, several small strikes in Live, almost a triple repunch where the man’s hat is, plus other letters above and beside the old mountain man where another coin or same one punched again. I’m really new at this and find it extremely interesting and the videos especially helpful as I have been thru hundreds of coin’s lately. If you can help me at all I’d appreciate anything., Thank you so much
I believe I have the only error missing clad on the 2000 D Massachusetts quarter
Those aren't cuds or die breaks. A die break runs from the rim as a crack, a cud is when a piece of the die breaks off from a die crack, Both of which would be from the rim.
Those raised up spots on your coins are die chips, fragments of the devices that chip off during striking the metal flows there and lumps up.
The other indent marks would be either fills or strike thoughs, like strike through grease which will leave a pocket if the die is overgreased. It can either wipe out devices, or create slight indents in fields on coins when there's no place for the grease to go.
Anywho, interesting finds!

I have found a 2001-P Kentucky quarter with a die crack in the microscope from the building to the K in Kentucky to the rim
So I have one and the America has no space between the A and the M and the R and the I is that common?

@@daphneferrizone2335 What was funny was I was trying to put the quarter in a machine and it dropped through. When the machine wouldn't accept it the first time, I inspected the coin to see what was wrong with it. There's no telling how many coins that are rare that people have used and didn't know it.
On the quarter face 'In God We Trust'. Have you ever come across where the last 2 letters of 'Trust' and the mint office is missing?

I have one that had the word Die on the word free and another E on Live. I haven’t seen this error anywhere.

I have what I believe is a DDR of this coin. I cant seem to find any info online of any others with the E Pluribus Unum being doubled up on a P Mint.
Man not sure if you seen it but the one just before 6. Minutes was a DDO on the 7 I'm pretty sure

Generally speaking, no, its all damage from the age and usage of the die pair and will be different from die pair ot die pair as they are used and age until they can't be used anymore. Some designs are more prone to the dies fatiguing and chipping ect. Faster than other designs.
This each thing would be limited to that die pair that struck those coins and it would be towards the end of the usage cycle of the die pair. Die chips and grease fills are really common though on all coins compared to other errors. In fact most don't consider it an error, just die deterioration damage.

Who are where people sell these coins to..
Not a “cud” but a die break/crack. Not sure why a lot of you guys keep getting it wrong if you are serious hobbyists. Dang,I apologize as that sounds rude. Wasn’t my intention. I am just curious is all. A cud is a break around or the coin’s rim. I find a lot of collectors,some whom have been doing this for 20 plus years keep calling die chips cuds. I guess if that isn’t your specific interest in your hobby then it makes sense. I have been collecting and looking for coins of value as a hobby for a little over two years now, but I’m always looking for coin errors in general. If someone was to ask me about the worth of silver coins or even anything pre-1900s I wouldn’t know anything about it.
