    • @Scythera99
      @Scythera99 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what happens when you let a system that ain't ours control the shit. Nothing is safe from regulation and ruin as long as we have the system we have now. They keep everyone weak, to rely on the city and politicians to do all the work for them, this extends into music since they found out it can be very subliminal and have a very dedicated fan base. Means radio flow is fucking controlled, serious XM is barely an escape, it's an expensive alternative. Your best bet is getting CDs or a USB, because the only shit that's coming out now, glorifies being a studio gangster fed with a Silverspoon up the ass, being rich by means they didn't actually do as spoken in their music. It's a phony industry now, figures why so many turn to drill music, the new shit they consider good today is pop celebrity bullshit.

    Skoob (Books in reverse) is from Brooklyn, Crazy Drazy is from Teaneck, NJ. The were discovered performing at a rap show contest together in college. EPMD were the special guest judges. Instead of Das EFX winning 1st place, EPMD offered them an opportunity to get on with their crew, the Hit Squad. Great upload young man!!

      Man, the Hit Squad was lethal back then: EPMD, Redman, Keith Murray, K-Solo, and Das EFX? It was a shame when the fallout hit and they split into two camps--Hit Squad and Def Squad--it was like trying to pick your favorite parent in a divorce...smdh.

    Das EFX(like effects) was part of the Hit Squad which was EPMD, Redman, Das Efx and K-Solo. EPMD split and Das went with Parish. Erick Sermon formed Def Squad with Redman, Keith Murray and Jamal. Everybody was ill, all of them. If they could of found a way to all come together..., they were the only ones that could maybe give Wu- Tang a run for their money.

    Late 80s - Mid 90s rap/hip hop is the absolute best era for rap. I'm 44 years old and this era will ALWAYS be my go to in terms of music. Kids these days don't know what they're missing by listening to the mumbles of the current generation of artists. Das, Scarface, KRS, NWA, De La Soul, EPMD, Chubb Rock, Tribe, LLCJ, DMC, Beasties, Kast, ect.....those cats paved the way for the goats in rap.

    The 1st to rhyme was Drez and the taller one that rhymed 2nd is scoop. Their name is Das EFX. EFX is pronounced like the word effects. Their 1st ever single was called “They Want EFX” which they also did a remix to the original version. Check out the song Mic Checka. Only one of them is from Brooklyn which is scoop who rhymes second. Drez who rhymes first is from New Jersey. Many people use to say that his voice was similar to Emcee Do-It-All from Lords of The Underground who are also from New Jersey. Check out Lords of the underground songs like: 1)psycho kills, 2)here come the lords, 3) chief rocka 4)tick rock and 5) what I’m after with RedMan on the hook. He from Jersey too, in fact before the Lords of the underground got together, emcee do-it-all was a solo artist and redman was his DJ before he started rapping.

    What's up Ahmad? This is my first time seeing your reaction video to DAS EFX. Just a little information for you if you don't already know by now since this post was back in November. DAS EFX is pronounced (DOS Effects) not Dayz E F X. DAS for Dray aka Krazy Drayz (the short one) and Skoob (spelled backward means books, the taller one. Dray is from NJ and Skoob is from Brooklyn. The EFX part of their name comes from when they started recording and they would tell the engineer put some effects on our voice. They met while attending Virginia State University (VSU). I hope this clarifies how they pronounce their name and their origin.

    Actually The first rapper is Crazy Drazy from New Jersey.. And the 2nd rapper Skoob (aka the Books in reverse) is from BK. On their first album “Dead Serious” they popularized a new style of rhyming that they called “riggidy rock” where they added iggity as an extra syllable to their words to separate them from other lyricists.After their smash single “They want Efx” (which you should definitely review) a lot of other acts adapted their style which caused them to abandon it for their second album “Straight up Sweacide” which is why in the first verse Dray says “Where’s the iggity?” He’s explaining to their fans why they no longer used that flow from the earlier Records.

    On another note (if I may speak on this)...
    Notice there ain't no sportscars, no designer suits, no models dancing along, no champagne, no product placement, no guest stars, no BULLSHIT.
    THIS is Hip Hop!!!! REAL STREET LEVEL SHIT! Nobody trying to be in a movie, or start a brand of perfume or vodka. Just dudes speaking their mind, in the place and FROM the place they know!
    There's a reason punk rock dudes like me LOVE some real ass hip hop... and it ain't Biggie or Tupac!
    Its dudes like THIS, Onyx, Tribe, Leaders, De La, Lyte, PE, Diggable, WU TANG, etc.
    No commercials for the idea that you have to be more successful than you are already... Just the ART of the verse!
    "Skill" is a tool to get to somewhere else. "ART" is a pure reflection of your world. People doing commercials for Corona now had "skills". The people I respect and admire had the "Art"! 💯💯💯💯
