@@caitlinsaks4910 are you guys ever going to release any of that edited footage? Like maybe put I all together in a longer documentary. I would have the hardest time filming and editing stuff like that. Not because it would b3 unenjoyable or anything. But because I wouldn't want to edit out ANYTHING! I would have the hardest time deciding which clips are just slightly more awesome than the others. So I have a lot of respect for what you guys do. Im glad you guys do what you do. There's something so strikingly poignant about the scene with the newborn seal. It just sums up so much about life; the hostile environment, the gritty reality of birth (with the blood and poop included, standing out against the white ice), but also the tender first moments of a mother welcoming her new baby into the world. Even in this hostile environment, there's a seal pup feeling safe and loved and protected at a home with no predators, cuddling with their mother. There's such stark contrast with the bright red blood against the ice, and also between one of the coldest and harshest environments on earth and the sacred comfort and innocence of a carefree childhood. It's absolutely beautiful, moving, and full of meaning that speaks to my soul.
This has become my favorite series to watch during my lunchbreaks. I find this continent so fascinating that I have recurring dreams about Antarctica. It's like an alien world right here on our own planet. Amazing.
Comments help the video, become more popular by the TH-cam algorithm, it can be anything even a dot. And that this channel was mentioned in Reddit and is super cool. Just hoping you gain some money back from the documentary.
Thank you so much for the support! :) And we definitely would love more views- although, we are actually not making any money from this. We just want to show how amazing life in Antarctica really is, and shed some light on the science going on there.

I don't know why,but this series makes me shed tears,it's because I want to go to another country so bad but it feels so far away, just as Antarctica feels, perhaps to get to beautiful places, you'll just have to work harder and harder
I had a very strange dream about baby seals with broken-off spears painfully stuck into their body being treated by a veterinarian who was giving them morphine prior to surgery. I have no idea what the meaning of the dream is other than one should not kill animals that have not reached adulthood, and certainly not by means that do not *instantly kill.*

I thought the same thing! I watched the first episode and kept thinking I was going to hit a paywall, but nope! I love it and hope it does well!
That's what public broadcasting should be.

YES almost as adorable as a sea otter pup
Fantastic pictures...far closer than I have ever managed to get to a seal colony.

Yeah, National Geographic never shows the poop. So much for raw nature.
