Looked so much nicer back then. I was 17 at this time and have good memories of Crawley town centre from this era. It’s gradually gone way downhill from this sadly.
Amazing and so great to see the town when there was pride left in it. Well kept flower beds and clean streets. I love Crawley and know we will be back 💪🏼
I was 8 years old at this time. I remember running around the back garden with my brothers, playing chase and then my mum put her head out of the patio door telling us to keep it down, i then did take notice the road was quite a bit quieter that usual and how noisy we were being so came in doors. My parents were watching the funeral on telly.

Filmed on the day of Diana's funeral in 1997, the town is virtually empty. Crawley as it is rarely seen!
Oh good explanation.. i see. Yes it looks like a ghost town

I wouldn't say to much has changed since then. Crawley really looked like a ghost town on that day though!
I was born 2 days prior to this being filmed that’s crazy
Have to laugh at the giant McDonald's sign near the burger king.
I laughed st that too!
And 25 years and 13 days later was the Queens funeral
What time was this taken? Great footage
About 7-8 am. Town was empty on the day of Diana's funeral, so now vehicles and people to obstruct the view.
wow I was born in 2000 3 years before I was born
