    Bloodborne is the best Fromsoft game, no contest. Every time I play it, I get addicted all over again to the feeling that as you move through the levels, you're falling deeper into this nightmare that nobody else realizes is the reality they're living in. Just an absolute masterpiece of a game, 10,000,000/10.

    I hope Miyazaki never gives up on adding the mystery of the “great beyond”. And thanks to Elden Ring and Ranni’s order of the Stars and the Astel Boss it’s enough proof that this hope is for the most part secured.

    You know this shit is a horror masterpiece when literally yesterday I fell asleep and proceeded to have the most surreal nightmare, where I somehow ended up at shoreline where you fight the orphan. Goddamn the nightmare felt so freaking real I woke up in cold sweat. In the nightmare btw there was no corpse of kos. Just that lonely shore, and the unsettling roaring of the sea. • @randomguy9886
      @randomguy9886 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Zavouk this might be a little long, basically I tried getting into it like 3 times In past maybe 2 years. Know this was before the I even knew what a fromsoftware game was lol. Fast foward I get elden ring and play it to the point of basically mastering it and then decide to play all the Soulsborne games.
      As I already bought the game I decide to play bloodborne.
      I watch a guide for the first two areas of the game and from that point I blast through the game and DLC. Now it terms of the game I would say that Bloodborne is an amazing and that's putting it lightly. I loved the fast tempo, the aesthetic was beautiful, the world, characters, etc are all extremely intriguing and I'll line up at least a couple of videos to learn all the lore cause I didn't fully understand it and last put not least in terms of difficulty I can say that Bloodborne was infinitely easier than Elden ring to the point where it surprised me.
      Every single Boss I've killed without dying except Bloodstarved beast which I died to him twice, Micolash once, Pthumerian Descendent forgot exactly, but it was around 20 minutes of deaths, followed by Pthumerian Queen with 50 minutes of deaths and last but not last by far my hardest encounter in Bloodborne the Bloody crow of Cainhurst with around 2 hours of deaths and that was mainly cause I was really under leveled for the fight which made me look at a guide for all the recommended area levels, but I beat him third try after coming back the appropriate level. My biggest surprise with his was Orphan of Kos which I heard people say when they talk about Melenia as a contender for hardest soulsborne boss, but even him I beat on the first try although it was definitely harder than all the other bosses minus Pthumerian Queen.
      Now the absolute highlight of the game for me where the hunter fights. As someone who hated invasions in elden ring and never played duels for than like 10 times in around 350 hours in the game I can say that Hunter vs Hunter combat in BB was absolutely phenomenal. It made regret not buying this game back when it was active. The combat was smooth, engaging, and honestly I can list like another 10 other adjectives and it wouldn't be enough. It's the main reason know why I'm absolutely praying for a BB sequal.
      In conclusion I'll definitely be playing the game again. My only gripe with it was it was sometimes pretty confusing knowing what to do and where to go next after you finish an area. Overall 9/10. Oh and if you're wondering about my setup it was Ludwig Holy Blade and Wrigglesaw and Eveyln as my gun. All +10. And I was level 136

      30 endurance

    I can relate to you on that dinosaur exhibit story, man...No.1 motivation for becoming a pyromaniac. And its a great analogy of describing one's realisation that nature is scary, life is unpredictable, and that we're a lot more insignificant in the universe than we convince ourselves of being. Cosmic horror works because it preys on the most primal of fear, that we have no understanding of things and that we may never be able to comprehend how they make sense in our reality. And that there's even worse examples lurking beyond our world is both intriguing but equally nerve-wracking.
    Hope that FromSoftware make a 2nd Bloodborne.

    My personal arachnophobia comes from a nightmare I had as a little kid. My mom, brother and I were running from a daddy long leg mixed with a tarantula. I can close my eyes and still see it to this day. I’m not even scared of them, they just give me such an uneasy and gross feeling. I’m the exact same way about the frostbite spiders, I can’t fight them in first person. It was one of the main reasons I was a stealth archer in my first ever playthrough.

    Ironically, I had mild hemophobia when I first started playing, but definitely not anymore by the end.

    DUDE, HOLY FUCK your experience of gaining arachnophobia is so similar to mine! For me it was a Halloween-themed field trip when I was 5, we went to a haunted house section which was made of 8ft tall plywood walls in a massive, tall shed on a pumpkin patch. I remember walking through the entire thing completely unfazed, even the room with walls covered in small fake spiders was nothing. So I went in for a second time, but this time half way through the maze-like haunted house I saw something I missed the first time. A gigantic spider mounted onto the far wall similar to the one you described, and that instantly changed me as I was never scared of anything before that point but now I was afraid of the dark, ghosts, insects, and especially spiders.
    I had the same experience as you in Skyrim which is why I never properly played through it, and in borderlands 2 Tiny Tina's dlc had spiders so I had to play it with a friend who would check the rooms ahead and killed any spiders. He even did the boss fight alone for me

    I really hope Bloodborne gets a sequel some day as I kind of ruined my first experience with it for myself. It was my first From Soft game and for some reason I really felt the need to have a map. So for the majority of the game I had a map pulled up on my phone which had pretty much everything marked on it. This meant I saw pretty much everything in advance on accident, so I had way less surprises than if I didn’t use it. Also because I just played it last year, I had seen many things from the game already, including the fact that it was cosmic horror. I still had an amazing experience don’t get me wrong. It’s just that I can’t help but wonder how much better it could have been if I went in blind.

    Bloodborne to me feels like it’s more than just about the cosmic insignificance of humanity. I see patterns in how, no matter how far we stray from our origins, humans at the end of the day are still animals. We will repeat the sins of the past, we will succumb to primal urges, we are just as beastly as the ones we demonize. The good and bad of humanity are there, so is the good and bad of the beasts. This game basically fuels my Misanthropic Nihilism.

    gotta say I'm not scared of spiders. as long as I don't have to touch them, I'm fine. My fear are things that look human but not quite... or that don't move like humans do. Humans where something's just off? It's weird. In the chalice dungeons you can encounter these screetching womes with long black hair floating over their heads. And they just fckn slide and glitch over to you and slash at you. They aren't just freaky to look at, they are really hard to kill too. First time I encountered them I screamed and dropped my controller. I couldn't complete that dungeon for some time.

    • @MsTenseiga
      @MsTenseiga 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that fear comes from me having incredibly vivid fever dreams as a kid. I'd see shit while I was awake. I'd see trees aggressively swaying in the wind, so fast and violently they touched the ground. I'd run to my mom, only to see her move as if you fast forward a video of someone moving, and her face not quite right. I'd see faces everywhere. Stuff wasn't moving as it should, and it didn't look like it should. And I still understood I was awake. Experiencing this, your mind just failing you, your eyes literally deceiving you... that's pure horror. I'm 26 now, and it's been 2 decades since I had these fever dreams. But I'll never forget experiencing this. Sometimes when I see something move like I didn't expect or just how it logically shouldn't, I fall back into that state of utter helpless fear.

    When I first played Bloodborne, I went completely oblivious to what the game could offer. I knew I would play it eventually, so I didn't watch any video on it or saw any footage of it.
    DS3 was my first Souls-like, and I was expecting something similar to that experience from BB. I was shocked when Bloodborne offered a way more in depth and more intense experience, and also somewhat different, overall. Completely different!
    The dread I felt playing BB when going through Yharnam, and especially Forbidden Woods and Ya'hargul, was very close to that I felt playing Alien: Isolation. That's crazy!
    I was always at the tip of my seat, I was afraid of advancing and finding a new frightining creature, because it'd mean that I would be losing my echoes in result of dying to it in a place still unknown to me.
    Dying in BB was even scarier, because now I had to go looking for my echoes in this dreadful place that I was still getting the hang of, filled with menacing creatures.
    This feeling I'm trying to describe was multiplied to the infinity when I first died to that kidnapper with a sac, and taken to the cells in Ya'hargul.
    I definitely was not expecting a survivor horror experience from BB, it truly caught me off guard.
    BB has become one my favourite games ever for many reasons. The fact that it offers an intense and tense experience like that is one of the reasons.

    You fear of spiders is like my fear of underwater. Even in call of duty. Maps like Armada in cold war and shit. If I fall off one of the ships I spin in my chair until I hear the kill cam. I can watch shit like subnautica and shit but I've actually heavily considered if I could play it and get to a certain depth given a million dollar prize or something. And I don't even think i'd try.

Crazy its been 7 years and while I want a BB2 I wonder about its special place is partly due to it being untainted but also BB did some things wrong they could improve upon like the chalice dungeons.

    Bloodborne is my favorite souls game so far, every aspect of it is flawlessly, meticulously designed to play into everything else in one provocative narrative unlike any other piece of media out there.
    I believe the biggest tragedy of this industry is if everything perfect about Bloodborne is destroyed by any second game.

    • @creepynoone7437

      I think that if they did revisit the Bloodborne universe, then instead of a sequel they should do a side story, a game that takes place in another town in the world at the same time as the original so we can get the joy of more BLoodborne without any spoiling on what happens afterwards (and they can sprinkle little mentions about the first game into the game also)

    Earlier in the video you said if Alien life does exists you don't think they would like life forms such as Mass Effects Asari or Krogan but more like the Great Ones. Bro, i think you forgot about the terrifying forms of the Reapers and Leviathans. And those things are much much more horrifying than the great ones in my opinion. In Bloodborne the great ones can be killed... to a certain extent. The Reapers and Leviathans... Kind of but not really. While Bloodborne is hopeless and horrifying. Mass Effect in a way is much worse.
    Let's say alien life does exist, which i personally believe it does. I think it's completely possible for their to be hostile entities as well as peaceful ones. Much like Mass Effect. The thing with Bloodborne is... The mere presence of these alien gods ruins everything. Like, yeah you can technically blame humanity for all the pain the suffering that took place. But when you take into account that Yharnam isn't even the first location in which the plague occured... The Great Ones are just as much as to blame. Sure, the great one's are sympathetic in nature but that doesn't really mean anything lol. Look at Yharnam. For gods they are either incredibly dumb or they simply don't care.
    Sorry man, i kind of went on a rant. Great video. I love Bloodborne myself. Honestly Bloodborne is the only From Software game i can say that about. I don't care for Dark Souls, Demon Souls or Sekiro. Elden Ring is cool. I like it. But Bloodborne is miles ahead in my opinion. Seriously, it'll never happen. But i would love a sequel to Bloodborne.
