While most metal music is in bad taste, I would not call metal acts like Tool or Nightwish as degenerate. Quite the contrary, they seem like high art to me.
True. I'm not that familiar with Tool but I am familiar with Nightwish Power metal, in general, seems to be one of the sub-categories that seems to have kept relatively clean. Also elements of progressive metal. I grew up with metal. Been to Wacken 4 times, and all that. Bands like Helloween and even Manowar have a lot of positive messaging. Manowar's song Heart of Steel comes to mind as a particularly powerful positive song. Power metal tends to dive into a lot of fantasy themes as mainstay and their external image is usually grounded without any outward focus on tattoos to craft the image either. It's not all so clear cut everywhere but for sure.
The prevalence of Doja Cat and other similar artists' popularity amongst my (female) peers alarms me. Even girls whom I've known to be raised as Christians saving themselves for marriage don't hesitate one bit to use Doja Cat's music to identify with others and express themselves. The widespread acceptance of this music, even among those who I wouldn't consider degenerate, concerns me. Not being a fan of music that blatantly endorses mindless hedonism, addictions and abuse of all kinds, and failed relationships has been isolating. The desire for complexity and emotional depth in my listening also sets apart my taste from the current norm. Though often complimented for my unique taste and rare finds, I find a general sense of popularity = quality in casual listeners. As an aside, bass clipping and other signs of poor production in a lot of modern music is grating and keeps me from listening to a lot of "good" rap music that other zoomers enjoy.
The clipping is probably from the never ending loudness wars; limiters pushed well past rational limits. Much like, popularity = quality, so too, louder = better. It's been going on since the 70's. We need to make peace with the clipping. Protect yourself raptor sister; people do not pay enough attention to what they allow to influence them. These poisons are nefarious because they are slow to show their effects. So slow its often hard to link them to the cause. As to your friends, rolemodel a better way - they will probably hate you for it, but c'est la vie.
@@marcusantoniusrapto Ah my comment does show up (thought it didn't make it). Meant to say snake but in an supposedly humorous manner (and pfp = profile picture), tho you did address this already in another comment.
Time to watch for the algorithm
You, my friend, are a legend.

Am i the only one interested in how Marcus has created the video with skeletons and guitars?
I wonder if its even possible for the current elite to be replaced
It's probably like multigenerational wealth. Competent people gain power, their children squander power.

Subbed!
Thanks a lot dood!
Alternative Science on Odysee made a video called "Waging War on Us Through Negative Sound Frequencies" that you might find interesting.
I'll check it out. There is the entire soulffagio space about instrument tuning that I find interesting too. Not sure how true it is who knows.
I'm listening to Japanese or sometimes Chinese music.
I strangely like Richie Ren. A old university buddy of mine turned me onto Chinese pop a long time ago.
Damn, no more snek pfp.
I do not understand either "snek" or pfp. Zoomer speak? I'm an Xer.

Don't really listen to pop music; more of a rock and heavy metal guy. I can see things getting worse all around, and music is no different.
I'm a metal guy myself too. Yet Pop influences a lot of people so it needs to be taken seriously.
Yeahhhhh.......
