Yep. And as of right now Excavator is probably in the top 3 right now IMO. With stash being so low currently means your having to carry a LOT of stuff just on your person, so that extra 100 carry weight from Excavator is invaluable. Now once it goes to 600 it wont be so bad, and if they ever get it to where most want, 1000, I think Excavator might actually become obsolete.

But when facing a massive horde of enemies, or when going into a Blastzone, the armor just doesn't compare to T-60/X-01/Ultracite, when you consider what you can encounter, while getting more rad protection.
With excavator power armor you get +100 more carry weight AND if you collect deposits (lead, gold, black titanium, Ultracite ore etc.) you get DOUBLE materials. If you have problems with radiation, use perks which will basically negate the effects of radiation permanently in a group play. With ANY powerarmor really, you are OP against any encounters within game easily. If you don't want to run back and forth between your stash, it's much easier just to use Excavator.
Great video! It was nice to have an overall comparison to the others with resistances at the end, and it was nice that you didnt go into detail about getting the Raider and Excavator power armor, mainly because the raider is mainly just a starter power armor and the excavator is mainly useful when carrying too many items as well as gaining bonus ores from ore veins. And not to mention the intro was pretty damn cool.
Wow the T51 is really good! With RAD-x the lack of radiation resistance is minimized. I think its that good cause it is the power armour from the fallout 76 cover and collectors edition.
Hate to break this to ya bud, but that one you found with “no pieces spawned” was actually a picked clean chassis...they will always always always spawn with a fusion core.
When you showed the BoS and Enclave walkthrough pages I knew right away it was Dulfy. Didn't even know they made Fo76 walkthroughs, but I know their guides are amazing (used her guides back in my Guild Wars 2 days, and even ran into her a few times for some of the events).
Same here, pretty much! The extra storage is so much more handy than a few extra stats that you dont really need anyway. I rather be able to carry a few extra guns and still have some extra space. I just wish it had some diff skins.
Short answer: Use what you like. Excavator is good for carry weight, Raider looks badass, T-series all look really cool, are very defensive and can be mixed and matched, X-01 for energy and rads, and Ultracite for physical

Great video. Just wanted to point out, there are actually 3 power armor spawns in Watoga. The first two being the ones you mentioned, and the third being on the roof of the building directly north of the medical building, next to a Vertibird. Just get on the roof of the Watoga Civic Center and cross the bridge going east go get to it.
Hey @TwoDynamic the ultracite armor you get from the BoS quest is weaker then the crafted set you get the plans from scorchbeast queen. You don't have to join the BoS for the crafted set
Yeah, but getting the plans is to much of a hazzle. Either the Server crashes (Thanks to all the weight limit exploiters i suppose) or the Queens corps falls through the floor or the loot doesnt load it or she straight up dont drops anything and after all that you have to have the luck of the draw that the plans drop.

+It's_Deacon then I would go for T-51 instead, as if you know how to perk yourself against rads (or have radx it's diluted form and radshield) then the rad protection can be thrown out the window. this leaves us with durability, repair cost, obtainment requirements (we assume you have Ultracite already so throwing this out too) and stats durability - Ultracite has a higher durability than T-51, giving it equal durability to XO-1 and EXC-17, whilst T-51 shares T-60's high but not THAT high durability, (why is the EXC-17, the one power armor with zero defence the one with one of the highest durabilities?) repair costs - both armors cost a pretty penny to fix, just ultracite is much worse due to the Ultracite scrap needed, (to get Ultracite you need to head to fissures, which are guarded by schorchbeast, which means your armor will get damaged more, meaning you needed more Ultracite, an infinite loop of aggitation that ALMOST assures you your armor will never be above 90% in durability) stats - Ultracite comes with 530ish physical and 430ish energy resistance, while t-51 has 511 both physical and energy, menaing t-51 loses about 20 physical resistance for about 100 energy resistance, and most high tier enemies (like schorchbeast) only deal energy damage (even in melee) and the assaultrons Lazer, another extreme threat deals energy damage too, so T-51 for resistance deffinitely. obtainment requirements- due to you liking Ultracite I'm going to assume you already got it, but mods both power armors suffer from shitty power armor mod drops, as neither has a effective way to get mods, Ultracite needs you to kill a schorchbeast Queen (good luck m8 they are immune to explosive damage and radiation, but 90% resistant to everything else, also level 90) and T-51 has no vender known to me that sells it's mod parts unlike XO1 (enclave armoury) and T-60 (Watoga trainstation) so Ultracite BARELY beats T-51 here. overall, both armors are a pain to upgrade and Ultracite has durability whilst T-51 has costs (neither by much) and stat wise T-51 dominates due to performance when you know what your doing (anti-rad skills or radx normal, diluted, and radshield triple combo) but if you are not very good at accumulating radshield or your perks dont line up THEN use ultracite, I swear the power armor unlocked at higher levels become more and more beginner friendly whilst the early armours apart from EXC-17 require actual effort to use, and T-60 is probably the best example of this
Protip - grind out the perk cards for reduced crafting and repairs on power armor. Your gear will never break. I have leveled from 65-90 in an ultracite set and it's still 85% full using 3/3 power patcher sp?. Also, the repairs go from something like 12 ultracite to 3 for a limb, from like 16 to 7 for the helm/torso. It is significant. Gun nut is great, BUT, it's so easy to repair a weapon v.s. PA or even regular armor (7 ballistic fiber?????) Having White Knight on had for repairs is great. : )
Best power armor in the game for me is the one I like the look of. Happens to be excavator armor currently mostly because of the bio shock esq undergarments, I feel as though it's done well and besides high lvl crafted power armor despite differences are all sufficient anyway, Lvl 82 character ATM I figure by this point if it truly mattered it would have already.
X0-1 is by far my favorite power armor but to become a general at the very end of joining the enclave is really a trstiment to ones sanity as while the missions are fun they are seriously brutal. Just repairing the watoga anti air defense measure quest as a private you essentially have to help kill 2 lv 40 scrotch beasts in a row. Talk about a real headache. But after a while the missions strangely get easier and more straight forward as you level up instead of the difficulty increasing ( sugar Grove was pretty tough but my 275+ energy resistance at the time helps tremendously ).
Fernando Pimentel yes, I was able to do both and now got both Power armours, keep in mind when you finish the quest as 2D said you’ll get a power armour chassis in your inventory which will be the Ultracite PA, so don’t discard that lol
Anyone notice that you basically join every single faction in the game just to "finish" (if you call nuking an area full of Scorched beasts an ending) the game? From Responders to Firebreathers, somehow you end up also joining raiders , Military, BoS and Enclave. You don't and CAN'T choose who you want to be like Todd Howard said you could. You need to join these factions whether you like it or not.
FML, wish i had known about this before i junked my T-51b for the T-60.. i guess it's back to farming.. My route is like Fast travel to 76 then run to Trainyard, Shed, Arktos, Then fast to Silvas, Lewis sons, Poseidon. Desktop. 76. Rinse, repeat in reverse
As for the reparing of PA, T-60 has about the best stats to repair cost ratio. If I remember it only takes Aluminum, Steel and one other material to fix the T-60, Where as I know the Excavator needs oil, springs, and black titanium, and Im guessing the X-01 requires things like circuitry and such.
@@paladindance Damn that is bad. Excavator is only 19 without reduction, havnt picked up that utility card yet. So seems T - 60 is best all arounder considering Repair-Stat ratio.
@@memnarch129 I agree. I've heard that you can get the repair cost as low as 2 aluminum, 2 copper and 2 steel per armor piece on T-60. If Fix It Good would work as intended it would be pretty solid choice.
I like that for someone who's never been interested in bullion and creating a nice set I can't pass down to a new character with quests still to do the information in this is still 100% relevant.
Ooh, for power armour frame hopping locations, I use Watoga. Set up camp next to the substation North of the town and then wander through, take the right route and you can find 3 frames in no time at all.

Ultracite Power Armor is actually only blocked by the wall. If you know how to glitch through a wall, you can skip the Glassed Cavern entirely. The condition to complete the quest is simply to access the terminal inside the room. Also once you've accessed the terminal, the laser wall will also allow disengage and you can walk freely through it. I actually did this by accident. I got the quest after registering for the brotherhood, and decided that a wall wasn't gonna stop me from checking out the room, I got in, and completed the entirety of that quest without doing any of the hard work.

My favorite looking power armor is t 45 it just looks like you are the type of guy who nobody messes with cause you are the baddest ever.And the look also fits with the wasteland.
more notably about location some of them are dedicated to certain armor types for example near the shooting range at the top of the map on the 2nd floor of the red building nearby will ONLY spawn Raider Power armor if any at all.
Glitched into the executive suit in the enclave bunker and there is a vending machine there for a power suit, presidential gauss rifle and something else. You can purchase them using presidential seals. Not much else in there
Carrying 6 different frame at the moment. I wander around collecting T60 and drop complete sets for friends add they reach level 40... Can't wait for the stash increase later today.

The raider power armor helmet is the best. It looks the best, and has the best headlight. Every other helmet has a garbage headlight. Use the raider helmet, tis good af and mods are easy to find. Some mods apply for your team too, like the targeting HUD, lighting enemies up as red. Which helps you spot them, and also just plain looks cool.
In short, it's actually cheaper to make a completely new suit of power armor and give the broken set to a newbie than it is to repair it. (Though the perk "Fix it Good" once it works correctly will make it worth the extra materials IMO.)
thing is x01 and ultracite may be the best but like he said the repair and crafting prices are insane out the ass so when the time comes to repair them you better be ready, i do believe the most cost effective along with stats is the T 51b its nowhere near as costly for repairs and the only downside is that it has the the weakest radiation resist out of all the armors but unless you go into a nuked area the rad resist means nothing plus rad-x can always fix that problem and lead plating if thats in the game.
There's a glitch that gives you an extra 100 carry each time to load into a server. Plus if you add calibrated shocks you get and extra one hundred. The the base 100 pounds you get for a complete set of excavator. That's 300 pounds of carry weight I'd rather have that than more resistance to anything.
i've noticed that REPAIRING T-60 is SUPER CHEAP in comparison to even the likes of T-45 or Raider. Like, no joke. Steel, Aluminum, Plastic for all parts, and then add some Circuits for the torso. Each resource is less than ten units for each respective piece, compared to T-51 or X-01 which need ABSURD numbers of each of their likewise extensive list of repair materials.
"The Modifications for the T-51 are extremely difficult to get a hold of." Me who got almost all the T-51b mods for the helmet at level 9: "I am 4 parallel universes ahead of you."
I found myself missing out on the t60 t45 and t51 because of the levels on them... I got the raider as my first set then jumped right to excavater as soon as I hit level 25 and didn’t see them need for t60 and the other ones after I had something better... sad
If you find one with no pieces on it it's because someone got there first and just took the pieces and fusion core, they do not spawn as empty chassis.
What about Excavator it’s great for carry weight and really useful since the stash problem and I have a base carry weight of around 265 or 270 so I can carry a lot and if your good enough with a gun or axe (in my case) then its actually pretty good but that’s just me I guess still a good video btw ( I know it has bad stats but it’s better than t-45 in my opinion)
Can you still trigger the quest after already done it for the first time? When I first did it, i didn’t know it would be this good. I also wasn’t high enough lvl to wear it, so I left it there. But can I do it again to get it?
Worth noting that in the Agility tree theres a perk called White Knight that reduces armor damage by 90% since ive had my ultracite at level 50 i havnt repaired a single piece and im now 106
I THINK that's armor and not power armor. I didn't have either White Knight nor Power Patcher and I ran Power Armor from level 25 to 70 with only one repair. From what I can see, power armor doesn't take damage very often to begin with - but as I said, I think White Knight doesn't work on it.
C Collins i would deffo disagree man when i say i havnt repaired it, it literally hasnt taken damage! More than likely a bug but deffo worth 3 agi points imo as it currently stands (edit: my PA without white knight has lost durability so thats what i base it working off of) either way give it a test, be good to get 100% tests back
btw you forgot to review the T suits when they got the upgraded armor plating. my t-51? it is 111/111/111 for the torso totally ups the game on the original suits (I believe its possible to find them for all of them game is under maint so I cant give you the exact name/model) but it was a mod I attached to the torso. Think its my t-51 cuz the nuka cola paint is popping in my head. I just wish we could make the paints universally used... because I like using escavator arms because they give additional ore when you gather using both arms in a suit (not just a full suit its just the arms in pair)
I sincerely hate the fact that the power armor chassis don't describe what armor are on them. It's exactly this reason why i accidentally deleted my ultricite armor. I get that i should have checked but i didn't know that was one of the rewards for belly of the beast. What pisses me off even more is that i found out that even if i do send a ticket for it i won't get it back because support can't touch your character what so ever.
T-51b is the best. 90% of all attacks in the game come in as Physical or Energy. When in a radiation zone just pop Rad-X. As a side note, when in a nuke zone, even wearing a radiation suit for the 1000 radiation resist you still take on Rads - so regardless of the power armor type, it's just reducing the amount of Rad Away you use for being there.
T-51b has the issue of needing quite a bit of rare materials to repair. Now IF you have a shit load of those materials then yeah thats great, but best suit when you consider both stats to repair costs is the T-60. Only needing Copper, Aluminum and Steel to fix it makes it probably THE easiest to fix. Considering all the others need 20+ of like Springs or Circuitry or other rare materials PER PART they get pricey to repair.
@@memnarch129 I've noticed that T-51b at 50 takes a lot to repair, but that just makes the perks "Power Patcher" and "Fix it Good" that much better - Thankfully after 50 these perks are very easy to get, and since Perk cards can be swapped out at will, it just means when you go to repair the armor, put on "Fix it Good" and you will have power armor at 200% durability, which will last 60% (120%) longer and be repaired for pennies (only a few springs) on the dollar.
T 51 all the way for me. I’m only lvl 51 and I fight the Queen with no issue (with enough other players). I only have to pop a few rad away the whole event. Haven’t found a single mod for it though. And Nuka Cola paint? Come on. I’ll take a slight disadvantage for style points

I havn't played for years now, and my char, yes i only have 1, is Rank 91 atm, and i haven't completed the Brotherhood. BUT i have a complete Ultracite armor. And caused by the long time, i can't remember where i got it from. I have started the Brotherhood a week ago, and i am at the quest, where i have to bring back the BoS stuff from the raiders. And i haven't give them the documents to rank up... So there must be another method to get the Ultracite. WAIT... I can build the stuff, so i got the plans somewhere.... The Same for X-01. I don't know, why i can build it...
you forgot one factor and that is upkeep. raidor power armor cost pretty much nothing to keep it going and with every step "up" it costs more and more.
Bit late but I don't think you do as that only makes you a general in the enclave, allowing you to launch nukes in the future with the right items etc.

Lvl 45 excavator armor has enough all round stats to make it hold up sufficiently against w.e anyway regardless.

I prefer the t-60 for the fact it's a nice set for stats and it's cheapest to repair only needing steel, plastic and aluminium.
It nice power armor set but down side is that carry weight for it is bad and to increase carry weight you need alot of flux

Excavator + Calibrated Shocks + carrying perks + Psycho = Major haulage . My X-01 stays in my stash box now.

repair costs - both armors cost a pretty penny to fix, just ultracite is much worse due to the Ultracite scrap needed, (to get Ultracite you need to head to fissures, which are guarded by schorchbeast, which means your armor will get damaged more, meaning you needed more Ultracite, an infinite loop of aggitation that ALMOST assures you your armor will never be above 90% in durability)
stats - Ultracite comes with 530ish physical and 430ish energy resistance, while t-51 has 511 both physical and energy, menaing t-51 loses about 20 physical resistance for about 100 energy resistance, and most high tier enemies (like schorchbeast) only deal energy damage (even in melee) and the assaultrons Lazer, another extreme threat deals energy damage too, so T-51 for resistance deffinitely.
obtainment requirements- due to you liking Ultracite I'm going to assume you already got it, but mods
both power armors suffer from shitty power armor mod drops, as neither has a effective way to get mods, Ultracite needs you to kill a schorchbeast Queen (good luck m8 they are immune to explosive damage and radiation, but 90% resistant to everything else, also level 90) and T-51 has no vender known to me that sells it's mod parts unlike XO1 (enclave armoury) and T-60 (Watoga trainstation) so Ultracite BARELY beats T-51 here.
overall, both armors are a pain to upgrade and Ultracite has durability whilst T-51 has costs (neither by much) and stat wise T-51 dominates due to performance when you know what your doing (anti-rad skills or radx normal, diluted, and radshield triple combo) but if you are not very good at accumulating radshield or your perks dont line up THEN use ultracite,
I swear the power armor unlocked at higher levels become more and more beginner friendly whilst the early armours apart from EXC-17 require actual effort to use, and T-60 is probably the best example of this

Protip - grind out the perk cards for reduced crafting and repairs on power armor. Your gear will never break. I have leveled from 65-90 in an ultracite set and it's still 85% full using 3/3 power patcher sp?. Also, the repairs go from something like 12 ultracite to 3 for a limb, from like 16 to 7 for the helm/torso. It is significant. Gun nut is great, BUT, it's so easy to repair a weapon v.s. PA or even regular armor (7 ballistic fiber?????) Having White Knight on had for repairs is great. : )

Best power armor in the game for me is the one I like the look of. Happens to be excavator armor currently mostly because of the bio shock esq undergarments, I feel as though it's done well and besides high lvl crafted power armor despite differences are all sufficient anyway, Lvl 82 character ATM I figure by this point if it truly mattered it would have already.
X0-1 is by far my favorite power armor but to become a general at the very end of joining the enclave is really a trstiment to ones sanity as while the missions are fun they are seriously brutal. Just repairing the watoga anti air defense measure quest as a private you essentially have to help kill 2 lv 40 scrotch beasts in a row. Talk about a real headache. But after a while the missions strangely get easier and more straight forward as you level up instead of the difficulty increasing ( sugar Grove was pretty tough but my 275+ energy resistance at the time helps tremendously ).

Fernando Pimentel yes, I was able to do both and now got both Power armours, keep in mind when you finish the quest as 2D said you’ll get a power armour chassis in your inventory which will be the Ultracite PA, so don’t discard that lol
Anyone notice that you basically join every single faction in the game just to "finish" (if you call nuking an area full of Scorched beasts an ending) the game? From Responders to Firebreathers, somehow you end up also joining raiders , Military, BoS and Enclave. You don't and CAN'T choose who you want to be like Todd Howard said you could. You need to join these factions whether you like it or not.

The bright side is that T-60 is super cheap to repair compared to T-51b. If Fix It Good perk would work as intended it would be a solid choice.
As for the reparing of PA, T-60 has about the best stats to repair cost ratio. If I remember it only takes Aluminum, Steel and one other material to fix the T-60, Where as I know the Excavator needs oil, springs, and black titanium, and Im guessing the X-01 requires things like circuitry and such.
Not to mention T-51b which takes 30 springs per leg

Ooh, for power armour frame hopping locations, I use Watoga. Set up camp next to the substation North of the town and then wander through, take the right route and you can find 3 frames in no time at all.

Ultracite Power Armor is actually only blocked by the wall. If you know how to glitch through a wall, you can skip the Glassed Cavern entirely. The condition to complete the quest is simply to access the terminal inside the room. Also once you've accessed the terminal, the laser wall will also allow disengage and you can walk freely through it. I actually did this by accident. I got the quest after registering for the brotherhood, and decided that a wall wasn't gonna stop me from checking out the room, I got in, and completed the entirety of that quest without doing any of the hard work.

My favorite looking power armor is t 45 it just looks like you are the type of guy who nobody messes with cause you are the baddest ever.And the look also fits with the wasteland.
more notably about location some of them are dedicated to certain armor types for example near the shooting range at the top of the map on the 2nd floor of the red building nearby will ONLY spawn Raider Power armor if any at all.
Glitched into the executive suit in the enclave bunker and there is a vending machine there for a power suit, presidential gauss rifle and something else. You can purchase them using presidential seals. Not much else in there
Carrying 6 different frame at the moment. I wander around collecting T60 and drop complete sets for friends add they reach level 40... Can't wait for the stash increase later today.

The raider power armor helmet is the best. It looks the best, and has the best headlight. Every other helmet has a garbage headlight.
Use the raider helmet, tis good af and mods are easy to find.
Some mods apply for your team too, like the targeting HUD, lighting enemies up as red. Which helps you spot them, and also just plain looks cool.

T45 t51 and t60 mods can be bought. They are easy to get mods. Just cost caps.

In short, it's actually cheaper to make a completely new suit of power armor and give the broken set to a newbie than it is to repair it. (Though the perk "Fix it Good" once it works correctly will make it worth the extra materials IMO.)

thing is x01 and ultracite may be the best but like he said the repair and crafting prices are insane out the ass so when the time comes to repair them you better be ready, i do believe the most cost effective along with stats is the T 51b its nowhere near as costly for repairs and the only downside is that it has the the weakest radiation resist out of all the armors but unless you go into a nuked area the rad resist means nothing plus rad-x can always fix that problem and lead plating if thats in the game.

becouse with xo1 with both calibrated shocks gives me 50 more carry weight xcavator gives me like 250 more
There's a glitch that gives you an extra 100 carry each time to load into a server. Plus if you add calibrated shocks you get and extra one hundred. The the base 100 pounds you get for a complete set of excavator. That's 300 pounds of carry weight I'd rather have that than more resistance to anything.

i've noticed that REPAIRING T-60 is SUPER CHEAP in comparison to even the likes of T-45 or Raider. Like, no joke. Steel, Aluminum, Plastic for all parts, and then add some Circuits for the torso. Each resource is less than ten units for each respective piece, compared to T-51 or X-01 which need ABSURD numbers of each of their likewise extensive list of repair materials.

I’ve been farming the Arktos pharma power armour and now have several sets at lvl 12
I found myself missing out on the t60 t45 and t51 because of the levels on them... I got the raider as my first set then jumped right to excavater as soon as I hit level 25 and didn’t see them need for t60 and the other ones after I had something better... sad

If you find one with no pieces on it it's because someone got there first and just took the pieces and fusion core, they do not spawn as empty chassis.
One thing not mentioned but t-60 only needs steel aluminum and rubber for repairs
What about Excavator it’s great for carry weight and really useful since the stash problem and I have a base carry weight of around 265 or 270 so I can carry a lot and if your good enough with a gun or axe (in my case) then its actually pretty good but that’s just me I guess still a good video btw ( I know it has bad stats but it’s better than t-45 in my opinion)

Nope. The only other way to get another suit (I think) is to nuke fissure site prime and kill the Scorchbeast Queen.
Worth noting that in the Agility tree theres a perk called White Knight that reduces armor damage by 90% since ive had my ultracite at level 50 i havnt repaired a single piece and im now 106
I THINK that's armor and not power armor. I didn't have either White Knight nor Power Patcher and I ran Power Armor from level 25 to 70 with only one repair. From what I can see, power armor doesn't take damage very often to begin with - but as I said, I think White Knight doesn't work on it.
C Collins i would deffo disagree man when i say i havnt repaired it, it literally hasnt taken damage! More than likely a bug but deffo worth 3 agi points imo as it currently stands (edit: my PA without white knight has lost durability so thats what i base it working off of) either way give it a test, be good to get 100% tests back

btw you forgot to review the T suits when they got the upgraded armor plating. my t-51? it is 111/111/111 for the torso totally ups the game on the original suits (I believe its possible to find them for all of them game is under maint so I cant give you the exact name/model) but it was a mod I attached to the torso. Think its my t-51 cuz the nuka cola paint is popping in my head. I just wish we could make the paints universally used... because I like using escavator arms because they give additional ore when you gather using both arms in a suit (not just a full suit its just the arms in pair)

I sincerely hate the fact that the power armor chassis don't describe what armor are on them. It's exactly this reason why i accidentally deleted my ultricite armor. I get that i should have checked but i didn't know that was one of the rewards for belly of the beast. What pisses me off even more is that i found out that even if i do send a ticket for it i won't get it back because support can't touch your character what so ever.

T-51b is the best. 90% of all attacks in the game come in as Physical or Energy. When in a radiation zone just pop Rad-X. As a side note, when in a nuke zone, even wearing a radiation suit for the 1000 radiation resist you still take on Rads - so regardless of the power armor type, it's just reducing the amount of Rad Away you use for being there.
T-51b is my favourite as well. It has that classic Fallout vibe. The legs are a pain to repair though; it takes like 30 sprigs PER LEG!!!
T-51b has the issue of needing quite a bit of rare materials to repair. Now IF you have a shit load of those materials then yeah thats great, but best suit when you consider both stats to repair costs is the T-60. Only needing Copper, Aluminum and Steel to fix it makes it probably THE easiest to fix. Considering all the others need 20+ of like Springs or Circuitry or other rare materials PER PART they get pricey to repair.
@@memnarch129 I've noticed that T-51b at 50 takes a lot to repair, but that just makes the perks "Power Patcher" and "Fix it Good" that much better - Thankfully after 50 these perks are very easy to get, and since Perk cards can be swapped out at will, it just means when you go to repair the armor, put on "Fix it Good" and you will have power armor at 200% durability, which will last 60% (120%) longer and be repaired for pennies (only a few springs) on the dollar.
Watoga emergency services not only spawns power armor, but it will often come with a random power armor mod!

T 51 all the way for me. I’m only lvl 51 and I fight the Queen with no issue (with enough other players). I only have to pop a few rad away the whole event. Haven’t found a single mod for it though. And Nuka Cola paint? Come on. I’ll take a slight disadvantage for style points

XO-1 is the best power armour, it’s cheaper to repair and better in radiation protection and that lightning bolt thingy.
I havn't played for years now, and my char, yes i only have 1, is Rank 91 atm, and i haven't completed the Brotherhood.
BUT i have a complete Ultracite armor. And caused by the long time, i can't remember where i got it from. I have started the Brotherhood a week ago, and i am at the quest, where i have to bring back the BoS stuff from the raiders. And i haven't give them the documents to rank up...
So there must be another method to get the Ultracite. WAIT... I can build the stuff, so i got the plans somewhere.... The Same for X-01. I don't know, why i can build it...
