    Those Thetas were really just like you described. I can’t remember the last time I honestly heard a pair of 2-ways deliver the smoothness as well as Triangles formula. I’ve been into gear a long time and for my last system, I’m thinking about assembling a fully bi-amplified rig comprised of tubed mids, and highs and class AB bass, with class D subs. I’m in the beginning stages of printed diagram now. Thanks for the tremendous info, Z, you know this industry well.🌹

    I do not usually make a fuss over reviewing kit but I want people to know that these speakers (theta signature stand mounts). Superb - I mean superb timing - tonally neutral - we use these for reference after our studio monitors. I bought from a very unpleasant firm in scotland - let me down in other respects but these speakers are exceptional. Some will say 'bright' - I would argue - check your source - when fed right and a a good sub might help - but not essential - these are lovely speakers - v.accurate across the board and well made. Tough tweeters positioned outside the main enclosure will open things up for you - on the proviso that your source/amp are good enough - nil fatigue with a solid source - charming with good vinyl/analogue.

    More expensive ones have tweeters that are incased in a CNC machined from an aluminum billit instead of cast...plus the tweters are more refined. They have better mid range drivers too and higher end crossover parts. Magellan also weigh 2x as much as the signature it looks like so cabinets upgraded. Look at another brand from Sweden called QLN next at the Prestige 5. They go down to 26 htz ;) Almost at Zeos level and the distributor is telling me they are magnificent with bass quality, speed, clarity. PLUS they are time aligned and have larger off axis sweet spot then Triangle with the best soft dome Scan Speak makes. Illuminator tweeter offers superb vocal rendition and excellent imaging and extension at all listening positions. Its large roll surround and textile dome diaphragm provides a flat frequency response above 30 KHz with outstanding off-axis dispersion. The unique AirCirc magnet system and its rear chamber eliminates any reflections and resonances.Audiophile stuff rulez!

      Can confirm Magellan Duettos are awesome. I went for the Magellan Duettos and bought a demo-pair for half the list price. This was already over my intended budget but I could not resist. It's a significant price to pay but if you are considering speakers in this price range, and you can demo a pair of duettos, do at least consider them.

    • @sergeysmelnik
      @sergeysmelnik 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And still over priced. How expensive can you make a driver? How expensive can you make a cabinet? How expensive can you make a crossover? 32k for a pair of speakers and 30k of it is for "name and design". Its why those high end wilson audio alex sell for 10 to 20k used and thats still overpriced.

    • @klewja
      @klewja 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sergeysmelnik please show me where you can get an alex for $10k. You do realize that there are also studio monitors that cost over $30k. There is more that goes into the cost of a product than just the components. Also there are speakers where the cost of the enclosure is high look at magico and yg.

    • @pennfootball71
      @pennfootball71 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@sergeysmelnik Umm you have no idea how much R&D and time goes into some of this stuff. It takes over a month to make some Magico speakers and a week for their cheapeest ones. After much time, I finally JUST ordered these in the mahogany finish.
    Replacing my Fyne Audio F501's with these as soon as they arrive since I already prefer the Triangle Comete to them, and will probably sell my Focal Aria 906's too since I also prefer the Comete to them, that should make up for the cost lol.
    Can't wait to compare these in 2.1 compared to my current setup in movies and music.

      And how are they?

    • @ericmann1781
      @ericmann1781 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@slyfoxx8540 As amazing as I'd hoped, thankfully, and I sold the Focals.
      The imaging in movies is better than my Fyne Audio even with the center channel, difference in music is even bigger. Hell the missing center channel with the Thetas sounds better than the actual center channel F500c, voicing sounds more on point and more natural.
      The sound is definitely bigger in every way and low level listening is improved but not by much, my best sounding amp to me is the Advance Paris A10 Classic which might be a limiting factor, haven't tried it with my Rotel RC 1590+1582 MKII though.
      Loved it so much I ordered the center channel to go with them. It fills the room better for movies, as expected, still hard to justify the cost though since I still prefer listening to music in stereo since I won't be affording a more "musical" AVR than my CXR200 any time soon, and the subwoofer outputs just stopped working on it too -.-

      @@ericmann1781 thanks for the detailed response👍
      Am loving how you're saying how good it sounds without centre channel as I'm using a 4.1 lol.
      Think I'm gonna have to try these out now it seems to have ticked all the boxes and sounds like my type of speaker.
      Am surprised you've not tried them on your rotels yet, have heard good things about them and had the 1580 on my list not long ago. And I wonder how long it is till you get a new avr, I've got 2 people I know who have had said the same thing and tried to hang on to they're recievers till literally the day the red lights fade lol, and next day they're in the forums asking people about new models🤣
      Appreciate the help, many thanks.

    Zeos there is a reason that you can only buy these from a dealer. It has to do with the fact that if you could buy these online it would hurt the dealers who carry them. Without these dealers it would be very hard to audition highend audio gear. This is common for most brands in the highend space.
    I think that if someone is looking to purchase a speaker that is around or over $5k you would try to find a dealer and a way to get there to audition it. I try to support local dealers as much as possible. You can usually get a better price from a local dealer. Also if you build a relationship with them you can get extended at home auditions too. These dealers also carry brands that you can't buy online like wilson, magico, yg, rockport, ect.

    For all the peeps who say 'it's crazy that you have to add a sub to speakers this price' it's normal. bookshelf speakers only have 1 driver most of the time, towers a lot more. The point is that towers can move way more air then a little bookshelf, that is what bass is all about, you need drivers and air movement. Personally I don't like bookshelfs because I always feel like i mis bass, thats why I have towers. I would rather have the Esprit towers then these because they are bigger.

    • @En_Joshi-Godrez
      @En_Joshi-Godrez 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on your room size. You can't fit towers that can go as low as a sub into anything even moderatly sized, but you can fit a sub that can go as low as the towers with a set of bookshelves into even a small rooom due to the flexiblity of placement and size. But it is harder to blend to two cross overs as now they a spereate units in different locations. Ultimately, if you want full range to sound legitimately "full" you are always going to need a sub to off load the ability of even the largest towers.

    I agree about the grills,they look way better without. Love the piano glass finish.Im not really an audiophile, I make a modest income, but I love music and still use my 30 year old Harman Kardon integrated amp and Bose speakers (I know you're laughing inside, me too,lol)but I like to keep up on and watch equipment like this.I saw Rage and Pantera back in the 90's.As the lyrics for Guerrilla Radio say,turn that shit up.Check out Pantera's version of Planet Caravan, its amazing.Using a speaker stand & wine glass for your milk is a nice touch,try mixing chocolate and strawberry,its unusually good.Have a good Memorial Day weekend 🤘

    Sounds like Z is having an audiophile epiphany. This channel has been built on mid-fi, good stuff, but more mid-fi stuff. Anyone who wonders why some stuff costs $$$$ and it it makes a difference, listen to Z rant. You don't have to spend 5 or 6 figures to get amazing sound, you don't need $2k power cables, or cable lifters.... but if you can spend $5-$10k on a well made, well matched system, set up in a decent room, it will blow your mind. I call it a hologram machine not a stereo.

    Don't ask me how but somehow I got a sample set of m3a speakers that I think they passed around the office. During covid 19 they had a shortage so that's all they had and they came dented and dinged and I had to replace one of the fuses for the left speaker. But all in all they sound fantastic and I got them for free I've herd a few sound clips from these and mmmmmmm.. I really want them hah I would probably sell my m3a as much as I love them and their versatility with ease of use. What amps would you pair these triangles with ??

      Can confirm Magellan Duettos are awesome. I went for the Magellan Duettos (Their top of the line standmount) and bought a demo-pair for half the list price 2800 USD. This was already over my intended budget but I could not resist. It's a significant price to pay but if you are considering speakers in this price range, and you can demo a pair of Duettos, then have a listen at least. I lucked out and also got a hold of a used Magellan Voce center speaker for 1400USD. Still a shitload of money and I feel a bit nuts for doing it but yeah... The sound is pretty great. If you are into Klipsch standmounts but want some more mid range clarity, or just a different look, then Triangle could be up your alley.

If you sit 8 -9 feet away, I think you'll forget all about these little toy speakers!😉😉🤔🤔😬🤪🤯 The semi- extreme toe in using a directional wave guide type speaker really works fantastic. Wish I would have done months ago.!🤔🙄🙄🤯🤯 Huge center sound stage where before with mild toe- in there was very little!🤓🤓 The compression drivers were aliitle harsh before semi- extreme toe in. are you sure that everything is the speaker? I ask that because you cleared A LOT of stuff out of the room, and you always had most bookshelf speakers on stands and then on top of those white boxes or whatever they were. it was like most speaker are at 50" off the floor whereas these are on the "perfect stand height". not to mention you are sitting in the stand alone chair vs the couch on most reviews.
