    True story. I went to Japan in 2018 and saw Broken live at an underground basement venue called Shibuya Cyclone. OMG!!! You bet it's real!! There were a total of 5 groups playing that day. While one of the other groups were playing, Necromidol I think it was, IO was suddenly standing next to me. She looked right at me, smiled and nodded, I smiled back and and we both jumped into the mosh pit. You have to understand tho, she's like 4 foot nothing. TINY tiny!! I was afraid she'd get hurt, but no way. She went hard!!! She's a beast!! I'll never forget that day.

      Wow you're freakin lucky, dude - being on a gig with BBTS and Necronomidol on one scene! Envy you 😝

    I’ll second that: it really is her, 2 clean singers, 1 low growler and a screamer, first time reactions are always fun to watch. I’ll suggest something else unusual:The Devil’s Killing Merry Go Round-Diabolos.

    Io Nozukidaira is the low growler and she is absolutely legit. One of the best around for my money. They're an incredibly underrated band in general. I think a lot of people get hung up on the whole idol thing, there's a lot of "it's not real metal" talk, but they just need to lighten up honestly. Would love to go to a live show personally!

    Great reaction! Hell yes that is Iorin doing those low gutterals! Absolutely love BBTS! All of these juxtaposing styles that probably shouldn't work together, but absolutely do. Iorin is an absolute beast with her gutteral low growls, as is Kagura with her higher pitched screams, accompanied by the clean kawaii Jpop type vocals of Tsubaki and Ayame... and the band is heavy af, proggy, and super skilled. Thank you for the reaction. 🔥❤️

    So cool that you know Stacie Bates, she is the drummer for Infernal Desekration. So cool of you to shout out to them. Yes she can seriously scream. Great drummer also.

      Oh hell yeah! She was my vocalist in Sidra when I lived in AZ. The song you hear is actually our music. Always had a blast with Stacie. Next time you see her, call her QG (Quarter Gangsta). She’ll totally laugh. Haha

      YES!!! I'm so happy to hear you are digging J-Metal Saturday. I don't get too many comments about it, so knowing it's making you happy means a lot. Thanks very much!! ✌🏽

      @musikbyjh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheLeomarti well, Slipknot isn’t Japanese either, but they mentioned them as well. I believe they were just talking about the influences of this Japanese band being things like slipknot and K-pop.

      @@musikbyjh Absolutely I believe so as well ! That's why I wanted to point out that there is nothing K-pop here since it's Japanese 😛 On the other hand Slipknot genre is metal, which is not specific to a country unlike K-pop, if that makes sense 😆

    • @musikbyjh
      @musikbyjh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheLeomarti ahhhh ok, I get what you mean then. Maybe the K pop is just Pop….and that’s what they meant? Or, maybe K-pop had a unique style that this person can see a bit of in this band? Either way…we all love this stuff, regardless of what words we use.

    There is another older metal idol band, Passcode which might be the first metal idol band in 2013-present. It has the same set up with 2 clean vocals, and 2 growlers/screamers, and a backing band with male musicians.
    Within the same kind of genre is Necronomidol which are currently on hiatus (2014-2022).

    • @TheLeomarti
      @TheLeomarti ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is only one scream&growl in PassCode (Emily), the other 3 do the "synthesised" cleans. And of course one of the very first metal idol units is Babymetal, PassCode came later

    • @BagoPorkRinds
      @BagoPorkRinds ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLeomarti Ehhh technically yes Babymetal is the the first metal idol group.

    • @TheLeomarti
      @TheLeomarti ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BagoPorkRinds I still wonder if there were metal idols before Babymetal though, units so underground that we never heard of them and that disbanded long ago

    • @BagoPorkRinds
      @BagoPorkRinds ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLeomarti I don't think there were any in terms of idol genre mashed with heavy metal prior to Babymetal. The genius of Kobametal. Passcode and Necronomidol might owe their existance more to BiS who started out at the same time as Babymetal in 2010 but were the first or one of the first to be an actual alternative idol group.

    • @latenightramen89
      @latenightramen89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLeomarti gohou lolita syndrome (lolisyn) were doing the whole metal idol thing with harsh vocals whilst babymetal were just starting to do their first headline 'legend' shows back in mid 2012, I'm pretty sure there were others who played shows with lolisyn around that time too, but alot is lost to time or deleted twitter accounts. babymetal honestly were the first to gain notoriety in the west and so of course all the accolades get unnecessarily attributed to them, they've honestly never had anything to do with the actual underground scene sadly, never played a show with anyone or collabed or interacted with anyone of note in the underground scene.

    It's kinda weird how you're focusing on the camera work. I mean. I agree with you. Sometimes the camera shots in videos leave a lot to be desired. But that isn't the band. :)
    They give some yatsu money to run the cameras and he feels like he has to justify his pay. I would prefer a wider constant view rather than all the cuts and closeups. But it's not that big of a deal. If you go to a show you can watch whatever you want. Also it's just a few seconds of one song. :)

    You still need an audience with the Queen of extreme vocals. Yu Umehara. From MergingMoon. There's a great live vid for the song "Greyen" on the bands channel. It showcases all of her skills perfectly. Highest of highs...lowest of lows...
