- Visiting Butterfly World in Preston Park
Over the Easter Break we headed to Preston Park in Stockton on Tees. You may have already watched the video from the Museum in the Park. The butterfly 'hot house' is well worth a visit at £5 per adult and around £3 for children, family tickets are also available.
As well as the huge variety of butterfly species the centre also has a display of reptiles, small mammals and invertebrates. We spent over and hour in there and considered it good value for money.

Thanks for watching Dave and Lori.
Butterfly world looks great can’t believe it an actual place very cool 😎
Thanks for watching Lizzie. 🙂
Cool...looks a nice place to spend a bit of time.
Thanks for watching 🙂 Yeah, it's not a bad place to visit for a few hours.
Great place , great video
Thanks Woodsy.
Ohhhh such a lovely place! The butterflies are so beautiful 😍
Thanks for watching, we really enjoyed our visit.
This one is good. Actually has lots of butterflies as well as other attractions. enjoyed the trip to Preston Park. Cheers to you Andy. Like 14
Thanks again for watching. There were huge numbers of butterflies - they even had an area where you could watch the butterflies emerge from their chrysalis.
Hi Andy, just love butterflies, think we must visit, £5 isn't to bad at all. Thank you for sharing x Julie and Tony x
Thanks for watching folks, it's a reasonable entry fee and a great way to spend a while especially on a rainy day.
See you soon 😊 pre prem 👍👍
Cheers Yasmin
This was initially supposed to have been built 2 miles from where we live but due to arguments with the local council it went to Preston Park instead, their gain our loss! I must take my 3 years old grandson there, he would love it, especially with the meerkats there too now and looks like £5 well spent to me, cheers Alan
Arguments from DCC - what a surprise! I think it might only be £4 for Seniors and Kids - so even better. There are plenty of things to do for the kids in the park too.
Love that place cannot remember the last time I was there, great video
Cheers for watching John. Isn't it quite local to you?
@@OutandaboutwithAndy yep about 10 mins drive
Will have to put this on our to do list. Very reasonable 👍
It is very reasonable - I did think they might have increased the entrance fee as I can't imagine it is a cheap place to heat. An ideal place to visit with the Museum also costing £5 for adults. There are also the grounds to walk around in Preston Park itself. Thanks for watching Xplorers!
Thats a very good point, everyone should be going there just to stay warm 👍
@GENeration Xplorers it's a shame they close over the winter, it's definitely a Warm Space. 😉
Looks a nice place to visit Andy and sounds a good price 😊 Didn’t realise they kept a few other animals there too. May have to visit at some point as you say maybe on my day off during the week when it’s a little quieter 😊
It's a great place, I have been before many years ago. I really wanted to return to do some photography for my other channel. I thought I'd put together this video for anyone that was fancying visiting on a day out. If you do take your camera Yasmin, you will need to sit for five minutes whilst the camera gets used to the warmth and humidity. Foggy lens time when I first went in.
@@OutandaboutwithAndy thanks for the tip Andy 😀
Looks amazing. We’ve been to one on Anglesey, but this looks bigger. The butterflies are so pretty. They have so many other animals too. Looks great. Cheers 🍻
Cheers for watching folks. I believe the biggest butterfly centre is in the Midlands somewhere. Luckily, this one is fairly close to home.
My family went last week and we were horrified by the conditions the other animals were kept in. Animals like a Skink need a large area to roam, and yet here they live in a glass box a few feet square, talk about animal cruelty. Teeside council should be removing these creatures immediately, and i,m surprised not one other comment mentions any concerns. RSPCA obviously too busy to check up on them.
Leave a review on google, I'm sure they will see it and respond. Alternatively, if you are concerned for the welfare of the animals contact the RSPCA.
