    Hi there! Great video! I truly appreciated the bit about the 300,000 weight differential oil, that's going to come in handy *real* soon!
    I was wondering, I recently ordered a Heng Long Bulldog, with all the metal you can get that model, and I am looking for a tank trailer and a vehicle to pull said trailer. I'd love it if I could find a 1/16 scale to do the job, but ultimately feel I will end up with the Hemtt 8x8 and trailer. But until then, these cheap military rc vehicles are amazing, so long as they are fully proportional, and have many compatible upgrade pieces for them!
    Thanks for your videos, I enjoy looking up the ones I've not seen yet, and plan on getting this feiyue model real soon!!

    • @3Y3ECE
      @3Y3ECE 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theminiatureconstructionco4556 I'm definitely picking it up, and possibly the eachine version as well. For the price, it's a steal. I've got 3x rc monster trucks and the rc tank coming (Heng Long makes rc tanks, 1/16th scale with lots of cool features, they run about $175 ish and up, but 'smoke' out of the exhaust, shoot airsoft 6mm bb's as well as IR laser tag shooting and there is shooting recoil and turret rotation, its terribly addicting!) so a few other to-scale military rc's seem to be in order! Looking forward to more vids, you do great work, and I particularly loved the intro song to this vid!
      **Edit** The Heng Long tank is the M41 Walker Bulldog Deluxe Pro version 7.0 with a battery of metal upgrades, and the turret rotation is upgrade to limitless 360 degree rotation. Quite a bit more than the stock model, but I knew I would want and eventually get them anyways, so this time around, I'm just starting off with what I want. I bought it as a 'crawler' so the clearance of that actual tank was important, and the Walker Bulldog and the Sherman (the Heng Long versions) have the highest clearance. I live in WA, so all the terrains, clearance is important!

    I'll give you a win as well, but either hot glue the diff or get some traxxas 20 million grease. Both will lock up the diffs. If you hot glue them and something breaks new axils are cheep, but I doubt you will break anything.

    good job! yup, the JJRC are internally same, and the WPL leaves a bit softer makes a big difference keeping the wheels to the ground. been using Elmer's rubber cement for rims+tires because its easy to peel, can pull tires off slap them back on several times before needing more glue. another big help is wrapping between the tire beads with 2 mm solder, 8 turns with the Fayee rims, stretch electric tape two wraps and a smear of CA where the tape ends. the stretched tape always keeping the solder compressed against the rim. the lower center of gravity and extra weight MAKES it flex more and keeps the traction up.
    that 6x6 might only need the middle rims done, possibly two layers (16 turns) if one 8 turn layer isn't quite enough.... the rearmost axle is going to flex UP more as the weight makes it dig into low spots, and rear axle being there it's never going to want to back flip anyway.
    its different than the 2 axle trucks where you NEED front wheel weight to climb with, the two rear axles keep the nose down and provide its forward shove. on a 6x6 if I were to lock a diff, it'd only be the middle axle and for similar reasons.

    Great video! I also have the FY004. I love it except for the open diffs. You inspired me to take the diffs apart and fill them with Silicone fluid. All I could get ahold of is 125,000 weight. Night and day difference. I have spoken to another TH-camr who did the diffs and he said that all of his Silicone has since leaked out. Have you had that issue?

      Hello! Glad to hear you had a go at the diff mod. Eventually it does start to leak out and the thinner the oil the quicker it will come out. Mine has a slight misting on the bottom of the diff housing's. But I don't think I've lost much to be fair, and you can always top them up! 👍👌👍👌

    I hope you'll see my comment on this video despite it being more that two years later: Do you still play with the FY004 and have you had to refill the diffs with the heavy weight fliud? I recently bought one of these trucks and it is a fun, cheap 6x6. My 1/24 FTX Defender bounces along merrily in the back! I've weighted the wheels with some of those self adhesive balance weights and used half million weight diff oil :D Having run the truck a few times and having fun up here in sunny Lancashire with it, I'm sure some of that fluid has "leaked" out.... Also how much play is there in your front hubs - there's certainly a fair bit of negative camber on mine now! I've got another axle on its way to compare. I may just go the whole hog and buy a set of full metal axles which will cost me near as damn it what I paid for the truck which was £65 including truck bed canopy and shipping! I'd like your opinion, cheers!

    • @theminiatureconstructionco4556
      @theminiatureconstructionco4556  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello sunny Lancashire! Sorry I don't always get notified of comments! Haven't taken the old girl out for a little while, but yes after a time the oil will leak out simply because it's a fluid. There's definitely a misting underneath the axles on mine. A lot of people swap out the originals for WPL items because of the locked diffs. I've even come across some folk swapping out the middle axle only! 👍😄

      @TachyonDriver 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @theminiatureconstructionco4556
      @theminiatureconstructionco4556  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going to experiment with WPL axles at some point which are basically non differential. The epoxy thing is ok but the large ring gear is plastic and it may over stress it in some situations and then you will get stripped teeth. It would be great off road but not so on pavement etc. So it's swings and roundabouts really. At least with the thicker oil you still get to keep the differential effect, and the springs make a big difference too. 👍👌👍
