So the Corsair 6500x case that goes with this motherboard has two 3.2 19 pin USBs….but this motherboard only supports one of those cables. Am I insane?
Corsair recommends this motherboard for AMD builds and the MSI website also says this motherboard is made for the Corsair case

I think that this MSI board and Corsair's Shift PSU would pair nicely together. Not sure about the case's compatibility with that PSU though. Would would be pretty interesting to see.
Tell MSI to upload PDF for the motherboard layout for us Modders. We would be fine cutting holes in motherboard plate, but we're isolated minority of consumers. It's commendable when any manfacturer offers design that only appeals to niche market, like NZXT offering their N7 motherboard. MSI should have consulted with Antony and other Modders during development of the case. Widening chassis would have made space for cables.
Rather than lack-luster audio, did they consider leaving it out altogether? Who uses it these days? If you are not passionate about audio you'll just use monitor speakers or HDMI feedthrough, if you do care, you'll want to use an audiophile USB or PCI codec. But the basic concept of the rear mounted connectors is so obviously the right way to do it that it is amazing that in 30 plus years of ATX nobody thought of it before!
You're really going to need a PC case with a 2nd removable case side panel for this - like the featured case. If you put this inside a case with a single removable side panel - you're in for some suffering in the future when your PC begins to shut itself down because of the CPU overheating because the thermal paste has completely dried out - and it will - a few years after your initial build.
It might be tricky since ITX cases vary so much in design and often have M.2 ports on the rear too. For m-ATX and ATX boards and cases it's a no brainer!
Saw these showcased at (and for the life of me cant remember the show) the show that was covered by most of the YT tech guys found it to be an interesting concept. thanks for the review.
When it comes to design the main issue has been with the small cables on the top and especially on the bottom side of the mb. As for the psu cable for the mb and gpu, vendors have found a way around it by all the designs we have now with even the argb psu cables. I will particularly want to see those small cables off the front, they can be messy and makes cable management a major problem. So, I love msi mbs but ... hmmm! not so good by sending the mb psu back
I love this but it needs the extra power slot for the PCIe so no GPU cables are needed. I think another company has the motherboard GPU power slot that supports 600W, I think it was ASUS or Asrock.
how to sell more expensive parts to customers? just redesign the motherboard, and build a case for it. now people have to buy them both together, no compromise, no matter the cost. viola.
I wish they would do much more like this, just make a standard for cutouts on the backs, so they can still choose places for all connectors, just have some basic openings, connect the cables at the back, meaning easier and shorter cables, cleaner case, better airflow, you really wonder with all they can do and figure out this is still a fucking issue, just like the something as simple as the jumpers for the front panel, why all those small ones when it can be one big plug that only goes in one way. It's just stupid really. The problem is, if it's just this, if your mobo goes poof and they do not have a replacement anymore, you're boned, or you would once again have to put in a normal mobo and route cables again, and if the case is too closed off to make it look clean you cannot route your cables and have to make holes yourself or replace the case too, just madness.
I just wanted to quickly see how it went together.and the cables were white so easier to see in the video. Will be doing a full build and cable tidy in my next video with an actual PSU
As I mentioned in this video there is a full video of the build. MSI PROJECT ZERO FULL BUILD: Why we ALL NEED IT th-cam.com/video/2Te-Q_8UigI/w-d-xo.html
this will be my next machine, but why did I have to wait 40 years for this, ok let's say transparent computer housings have been around for 10-15 years, but nobody thought of it, it's unbelievable You really undenstand the pc built somebody made you tube video about this motherboard and put to lian li 011 pc case omg 😢 and 7800x3d the best cpu for gaming not the 12-16 cores....... it's just a waste of electricity and unnecessary heat production, the games don't benefit from it anyway, because of xbox and playstation, the games are optimized for 8-core amd that is, which are ported let's say you could have shown what it looks like when it's ready😊
Easy lawsuit if they actually market this as "Cable-less" since it isn't really cable-less. The back for these PC builds is going to be a nightmare to cable manage. Interesting concept, but PSU cables will need to be shorter if board makers are going this route in the future

Has nothing to do with them really, the manufacturers are arguing over a standard due to a company owning the patent for the design over a decade ago.
Black or gun metal grey would look nice on the black Mag Pano m100pz case
This looks amazing, I'd say revolutionary. I hope this design catches on.
I think that metal on top is to help support the board from flexing during connecting the rear 24pin.

I’m interested to see how or if they implement this into ITX boards!

Bought this. Thank you for your upload as I was wondering how to open the case (this came as a pre-built)
MSI is going to set the standard with this motherboard design.
looking at this now, the corsair 2500x case (out end of Feb) and this would be nice combo
Saw these showcased at (and for the life of me cant remember the show) the show that was covered by most of the YT tech guys found it to be an interesting concept. thanks for the review.
At the first sight I was very happy with the case. After looking at the cable "management" mess: no thank you.
I am not finding cmos battery location 😭
All motherboards should be like that
Hide the luxury cable on the back case

That’s true. Asus just released that so maybe in the second revision.
Tell us about the VRM relative to competitors
Some people claim that you should use slots 1 & 3 for RAM. It's based on the manual. What's your manual say?
It will be printed directly on the mobo
Looks great if the video card was vertically mounted it would be Perfect. Well for me anyways, I do like it very nice
where is the build?
how to sell more expensive parts to customers?

Several other cases are compatible. My musetex y6 has the cutouts
Violin.

Does it come in a sff version
wait and it doesnt have the motherboard power GPU thing?
No cables on the top side at all, which is the only side you see in most cases. Other components such as GPU still need cables as they're separate.
If the price is reasonable I'm all aboard.
The fact that I have to buy a case also kinda sucks. Also, fan are inside the case and fan cables run from them……….so I will see wires.
So you can only use one type of case
@@KunaX3 You need a case with btf/ rear connector support. Quite a few manufacturers have them now
Why use cable extensions?
I just wanted to quickly see how it went together.and the cables were white so easier to see in the video. Will be doing a full build and cable tidy in my next video with an actual PSU
Makes a whole video about cable free motherboards but doesn’t give us a cable free shot of how it looks when complete 🎉

Completely agree!
Great concept. MSI Pano case is mediocre and I hope other manufacturers will come up with more robust designs for this project.
Interesting
