You are a lovely soul. I an elder woman close to 80 and living alone on 7 acres in the Midwestern part of the US. Years ago I did film work - long before digital. I used my graduate degree in film to create pieces for social change in a South American country for 8 years, eventually teaching those skills to community activists. They learned how to edit in the camera and to edit beta to beta (vhs to vhs). Most important they learned how to use that tool to draw attention to the needs in their communities. Here and there I would have a bit of contract work and that would pay for my community work. I was in a country with much violence but I was so fortunate to grow personally and to know, as you are experiencing, the very best people I have ever known. You have a lovely spirit that communicates well in this medium. I have been in COVID quarantine because of my age for half a year now. I live in a country with much upheaval, sorrow, and growing violence. Though I have a small column in our local paper, I am searching for just what my calling is at this point in my life. My family lives very far from me. I am also thankful for just this moment - for this opportunity of reflection, for my vegetable garden, the stream, my donkeys, my dog. I stumbled on the Nomatic Movement, two such authentic young people, and that is how I stumbled on you. I have no counsel for you. You know just what to do and how to listen. I think we are all about going through some kind of low point right now in some kind of way because of this Covid-19 situation. It's been about 6 months already and unfortunately some places have deal with it harsher than others...but I heard that Panama will start opening flights to more countries and tourism by next month. When it comes to things that you were used to having in Trinidad, such as products for your hair; you make due with what's available. Sure there are things that will take some getting used to, but that's part of taking on a new journey for your life. Don't be discouraged, just look around you and see other people making life with much less than what you have. I'm a Panamanian that left here in 1984 and came back in 2015 with 3 suitcases. This was decision based purely on Faith and Trust in God. And I'm here now with a great job, my family and a whole heap of wonderful friends that God has placed in my life and have helped me get this far. You will rise again my brother, just look up. I think we are all about going through some kind of low point right now in some kind of way because of this Covid-19 situation. It's been about 6 months already and unfortunately some places have deal with it harsher than others...but I heard that Panama will start opening flights to more countries and tourism by next month. I hope that you stay positive and healthy. This 💩 has been rough on everybody one way or another. Don't let it get you!!!! And remember you're not all alone. When it comes to things that you were used to having in Trinidad, such as products for your hair; you make due with what's available. Sure there are things that will take some getting used to, but that's part of taking on a new journey for your life. Don't be discouraged, just look around you and see other people making life with much less than what you have. I'm a Panamanian that left here in 1984 and came back in 2015 with 3 suitcases. This was decision based purely on Faith and Trust in God. And I'm here now with a great job, my family and a whole heap of wonderful friends that God has placed in my life and have helped me get this far. You will rise again my brother, just look up.
