seconded, while definitely true HBV is well known to cause PAN; HCV is more associated with cryo and the one mentioned in the vid; especially for NBMEs

At 3:17 ?? How did you make the logical deduction that you are given the affected organ? I looked it up on Google, as I wasn't sure what "steatosis" is/was, and from Google I was able to understand that steatosis mostly affects the liver. But-- that requires that you already and quickly make that association, which I did not. The way I read the question on first reading, when I came upon "steatosis" in the question stem, I didn't recognize or understand the word, but I recognized the root, and thought about "steatorrhea" (which I do know) is fatty stool. So my guess on first reading was that it had to do with fatty "something", though not sure where it was fatty. Which basically left me to guessing from the answers... suspecting from the IV drug use that it was something HIV/AIDS-like or hepatisis-esque. So my guess on reading the question was the anogenital one, which is obviously wrong.
Clearly, I have a long way to go to doing well on the tests because I didn't make the associations of the 5 diseases that you mentioned were well-known and high yield.
Having said all that, I appreciate very much what you do-- you're one of my favorite channels for med exam prep. So I want to say "thank you".

Steatosis is fatty accumulation within a cell. On your exam its usually going to be the liver, although you need not be given that to make the *best choice* here. You were given 3 bits of information: (1) steatosis, (2) hx of IVDA, and (3) the description of pathological changes of HCV. Given these 3 together, you can deduce based on the answer choices that you are being asked to figure out an extra-hepatic manifestation of HCV. Even if you didn't know it was the liver (or by extension didn't know the pathologic description was of HCV), you could look at the answer choice disease associations and ask yourself "would fatty accumulation of a cell/organ and a hx of IVDA be related to any of the associated diseases?" The answer would be no.

@@DirtyMedicine Yes, I see your train of thought, my problem is that I am not up enough on a level yet to make the 5 symptom associations that you made with each of the 5 diseases. Specifically, I did not know that each symptom you listed went with those respective diseases. So, ergo, I could not do a process of logical elimination... which, obviously, is your point. But, at least now, I'm learning those associations you listed.

    Very helpful!
One clarification though - it would be more correct to refer the vasculitis as cryoglobulinemic vasculitis instead of leukocytoclastic vasculitis, because most cases of leukocytoclastic vasculitis is induced by adverse drug effects and are not associated with ANCA.

I chose PAN indeed because I was 100% sure that HCV is associated w/ cryoglobulinemic vascuiitis
