This tension and head-butting is what made the police so great. The clean precision of Sting mixed with the at times unkempt fury of Stewart shows in there playing, it really does. And all the while, Andy is there, laying the foundation and filling the cracks. It what made them an amazing band and also what ensured they could never stick together.
I love every second of this video, it doesn't matter to me if they put up a show here, or if they really hate each others guts. Andy is god, Sting is god, and certainly Stewart is god, this is history in the making, and I'm happy that I was able to see it

Sí, lo mismo creo. Ninguno de ellos necesitaba pasar malos ratos por el dinerillo. Es cierto que a Sting le ha ido mejor, pero Andy y Stewart son respetados músicos y pueden presentarse en condiciones decentes en todo el mundo, no les va mal como para humillarse en algo que no estén disfrutando. Es cierto que sus diferencias siempre estarán, pero mientras nadie trate de demostrar que la tiene mas larga, todo va bien en un tiempo que decidieron volver a recordar viejos tiempos.

Not really, it's just the dynamics of the group, Stewart is hyperactive and he has a big personality so he challenges Sting. But it has anothing to do with Stewart's talent as a drummer. In fact Sting played with even better drummers than Stewart without major conflicts simply because the roles for his band are more clear with him as the leader. Les cuento que hace unos años atrás, NatGeo contrato un equipo multidisciplinario donde habían cientificos, medicos neurologos, ingenieros de sonido y otros profesionales e invitaron a Sting para que se sometiera a una investigación de su cerebro para conocer las causas de su talento musical en las composiciones y su virtuosismo como músico, la idea era saber su actividad neurológica en esta área, Sting acepto. Para mi la crítica no es porque sea mal músico, sino que es porque, el abarcar demasiado (tocar el bajo, cantar, y componer) no lo convierte en un experto infalible en cuanto a su opinión sobre qué es lo mejor para determinada canción. Igual tampoco vi que fueran "Peleas" son mas Negociaciones que se dan siempre en una banda cuando van a preparar un tema.

Cuando fui a ver a The Police en la cancha de River tuve q escuchar todas la canciones re- versionadas para que al egoísta de Sting le sonaran como él quería en ese momento de su vida. Una patada en los huevos para Stewart y Andy que tenían que complacerlo para seguir adelante y poder trabajar

Creo que mas de la mitad del sonido the police es proporcionado por Copland, otra parte es guitarra y obviamente Sting en voz, pero no encuentro el bajo a la altura. En todo caso debe ser asi, ya que no serian los monstruos que son.
Estas no son peleas. Solo se están comportando como cuando eran jóvenes, y se ríen de sí mismos. Lo que pasa es que el bajo de Sting no puede seguir el ritmo de Copeland.
Sting se ríe porque Copeland se esfuerza por hacer ritmos complicados y Sting ya dejó eso atrás hace mucho. Los 3 son virtuosos. Sting toca el bajo muy bien. Por encima del promedio.
Claramente se observa cada uno peleando por su espacio en términos musicales. En términos cotidianos sería pelearse por quien juega más rato a la play por ejemplo. Similar a las peleas entre hermanos que nunca se resuelven y se vuelven agotadoras para todos. Lamentablemente nunca arreglaron ese tema y a esa edad ya no iban a cambiar. Más allá que se quieran como personas, siempre iba a existir esa discusión constante, entre sting y stewart. Andy es el que mejor supo jugar a “la banda”. Genios los 3

The struggle for leadership in the band was always between Stu and Sting 🐝. Stu was the original leader but Sting 🐝 wrote and sang all the Hit songs so he became the Leader. That didn’t sit well with Stu so they ended up breaking up. 😅🤣😂 Too Bad because they had Lightning in a Bottle and even they knew it! I guess they had enough Fame and Fortune. 🐝 Sting kept going. But the musical chemistry 🧪 the Trio had was unique and special. You can’t create it, it just occurs and when it does it’s magical! Sting 🐝 doesn’t have it with his sidemen. *yo como bajista tengo que decir, que Sting está en lo cierto, es un problema con los bateristas, ellos tocando fuerte o muy fuerte cuando deberían tocar así solo en solos de batería, yo lo noto en muchos bateristas en mi entorno y es muy molesto, y cuando le digo a los bateristas que toquen más bajo, ellos piensan que lo hago por lucirme o por fastidiarnos, pero lo hago por que tengo buen oído, y noto cuando la batería está sobrepasando en sonido al resto de la banda, el sonido de la batería tiene que estar casi siempre "atrás" , la guitarra voces y bajo deben sonar más.*
es bastante absurdo tu comentario. De partida la bateria es un instrumento que suena bastante fuerte aun que toques relativamente "despacio". Quizás la solución para ti sea tocar con bateristas que tengan una bata eléctrica. La bateria va atrás? en serio? desde cuando? quien dijo que era así? Me imagino que con lo que dices no soportaras escuchar canciones en donde la bateria tenga protagonismo. Mejor comprate una drum machine y ya está! toca en 4/4 hasta la infinidad y con la caja en 2 y 4. Abre tu mente estimado, que podrias estar desaprovechando la oportunidad de estar tocando con un Copeland y por "culpa" de creer que la bateria va "atras".

Interesante material, te felicito por haberlo encontrado, pero no veo que esten peleando o discutiendo, lo que veo es que se estan poniendo de acuerdo y practicando todos los dias, y con el que este alli y donde sea que tengan que practicar.. lo he dicho en otras partes, esa es la verdadera vida de un musico profesional, dedicado todo el dia a tocar y practicar y a crear nuevas canciones.
Sting se hace el jefe y se ríe irónicamente, pero el sonido de The Police se lo dio Copeland. Escuché lo que hizo antes de The Police y es su sonido.

Creo que mas de la mitad del sonido the police es proporcionado por Copland, otra parte es guitarra y obviamente Sting en voz, pero no encuentro el bajo a la altura. En todo caso debe ser asi, ya que no serian los monstruos que son.

Estas no son peleas. Solo se están comportando como cuando eran jóvenes, y se ríen de sí mismos. Lo que pasa es que el bajo de Sting no puede seguir el ritmo de Copeland.
Sting se ríe porque Copeland se esfuerza por hacer ritmos complicados y Sting ya dejó eso atrás hace mucho. Los 3 son virtuosos. Sting toca el bajo muy bien. Por encima del promedio.
Tampoco Copeland puede seguir su mismo ritmo de un tiempo, los años pasan y ha perdido un poco de fluidez del gesto!!

Claramente se observa cada uno peleando por su espacio en términos musicales. En términos cotidianos sería pelearse por quien juega más rato a la play por ejemplo. Similar a las peleas entre hermanos que nunca se resuelven y se vuelven agotadoras para todos. Lamentablemente nunca arreglaron ese tema y a esa edad ya no iban a cambiar. Más allá que se quieran como personas, siempre iba a existir esa discusión constante, entre sting y stewart. Andy es el que mejor supo jugar a “la banda”. Genios los 3

The struggle for leadership in the band was always between Stu and Sting 🐝. Stu was the original leader but Sting 🐝 wrote and sang all the Hit songs so he became the Leader. That didn’t sit well with Stu so they ended up breaking up.

*yo como bajista tengo que decir, que Sting está en lo cierto, es un problema con los bateristas, ellos tocando fuerte o muy fuerte cuando deberían tocar así solo en solos de batería, yo lo noto en muchos bateristas en mi entorno y es muy molesto, y cuando le digo a los bateristas que toquen más bajo, ellos piensan que lo hago por lucirme o por fastidiarnos, pero lo hago por que tengo buen oído, y noto cuando la batería está sobrepasando en sonido al resto de la banda, el sonido de la batería tiene que estar casi siempre "atrás" , la guitarra voces y bajo deben sonar más.*
es bastante absurdo tu comentario. De partida la bateria es un instrumento que suena bastante fuerte aun que toques relativamente "despacio". Quizás la solución para ti sea tocar con bateristas que tengan una bata eléctrica. La bateria va atrás? en serio? desde cuando? quien dijo que era así? Me imagino que con lo que dices no soportaras escuchar canciones en donde la bateria tenga protagonismo. Mejor comprate una drum machine y ya está! toca en 4/4 hasta la infinidad y con la caja en 2 y 4. Abre tu mente estimado, que podrias estar desaprovechando la oportunidad de estar tocando con un Copeland y por "culpa" de creer que la bateria va "atras".
