Thank you! I had an identical one by a different brand so they must all be made by the same company. This saved me so much time and stress as the instructions are terrible and a video is best. For anyone with a hatchback like an older Honda Civic the top clips would be on glass. This did not feel safe so a way around it is to open
the boot and string the strap through the hinge until the hook is secured by the hinge. Then pull the strap over the back window to the clip. The strap is in contact with the window but the hook held by the hinge is taking nearly all the strain.
There are two more straps that attach to the sides of the boot/tailgate, also if you angle the rack so the bikes are leaning away from the car you will have gravity on your side stopping them falling off, also might be worth taking of the pedal nearest the car to save it scratching the paintwork,
I use this rack 2-3 times a week takes 2 minutes to install/uninstall
Must be kidding with the 2 minutes to install lol. It takes close to 10-15 on a good day haha

Just got a similar one. Bit of a palaver tbh, but I think it might get easier.
Worth considering if your bike will fit. I have a heavy mountain bike which has tubing WAY too wide for the clamps, and also too short to fit over the bars.
Bike needs to be of traditional design. A lot of bikes now have tubing of wide bore and/or unusual cross-section and I can see users having bother.
Does the clips scratch the paint? Planning to get one.
@@silverback1540 Every car is different, but if your car isnt as angled at the back as Toyota C-HR, it shouldn't scratch the paintwork. At least mine doesnt!

I noticed it's very handy that the car you're using for the demo doesn't have a rear number plate positioned on the tailgate/boot/trunk like the majority of cars, otherwise that would have just highlighted the fact that the number plate would be obscured when this rack and a bike is fitted, rendering your car illegal to be used on the public roads.
It does have a registration plate. It's below the bike, it's just blurred out
It’s fully adjustable so can be mounted on any vehicle type in such a way as to not obscure the number plate.

I have a rack like that and a new used VW Up! And it has the little spoiler on the back of the roof as well. Aren’t you concerned that the straps ruin the paint work?
You have a foam on that parts that touches the glass and paint, upper and down, so no worries if we talk about same model
Hello. I bought this product from Decathlon yesterday for my Toyota Yaris 2017 Hybrid car. When I examined the book, I couldn’t find any information for the Yaris model. I wonder if it is not compatible with Yaris and does it pose a security risk?

Just installed mine and about to go on first drive long distance. Worried about the glass with the pressure on it. Carrying a fat tire bike at 67.5 lbs and a girl's bike at around 15-20lbs. Weight capacity stated 100 lbs max so close to it.
I drive with 2 bikes for more than 250miles cross country, without any problem, just check belts few times and tight them if you need. Carrier passed my test

Any problems woth the glass I just got one and worried about that too. Was thinking of moving it down on yhe hatch it self

Same dillema for me. My spoiler is plastic and kinda protrudes longer. I was wondering if I could just place the top hooks to the sides. But I don't know if it will be secure enough

They are not metal, they are gummed on edge, metal is inside

hook is metal not plastic, tested with 2 bikes for 600km in one day, no problem, just tight all parts and thats it, when you stop it check it to be sure.
