This is one of those foundational marvel stories that underpins EVERYTHING. From the Vampires to the X-Men to of course Dr. Strange. Everything in the marvel timeline is connected by threads reaching back to these periods of gods and the first generation of heroes.
I find these type of comic stories so much more interesting than a lot of the stuff currently out. It just feels more imaginative, grand, and wondrous in scale.
Those ancient avengers looked awesome 💯

Agreed, but the ancient avengers thing was kinda goofy in my opinion.
Marvel wanted their superheroes to have a legacy element to them, much like most of DC's superheroes, lol.

I'm compelled to correct your version of how the Ancient One was saved from Shuma Gorath by Dr. Strange . Strange did NOT destroy Yao's physical body . Strange entered Yao's mind and destroyed his ego which ended Yao's earthly life and his concept of what he was and was not making Yao ' one with the universe " .

This was awesome. Thanks for deciding to spotlight the origins of the Vishanti and Ancient One this week. Over the last few years I've really become a bigger Doctor Strange fan thanks to the MCU films, so I'm really excited to be exploring everything related to him in Marvel books. Storm being a descendant of a sorceress makes her power set make so much more sense.
Missing something. The Sorcerer Supreme is for the entire universe. No mention of Sorcerer Supremes from other galaxies and star systems. No Kree, Skrull, Shi'aar Sorcerer Supremes?
Having the ancient one start out as a physician gives him a closer bond with Doctor Strange.
I think you may have left out one small detail. At one point Sir Isaac Newton actually held the title of sorcerer supreme. At least in the Marvel universe. But perhaps you can save that story for another video.

That happened in Epic Anthology, a book from 2004 that only had a single issue. I considered it canon because Yao's identity of the Spirit Leopard was also referenced in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.
