Great reaction. F Hero flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of the BABYMETAL tour in 2019. That was where this video was filmed. This is the official video so it has the studio audio dubbed over it (just so you know, with official videos filmed at live shows they will only have live audio as well if they say "live" in the title). They performed in Bangkok in Thailand last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance. 'PA PA YA' is a summer festival party song - and it really is about a spicy green papaya fruit salad. F Hero was rapping in Thai to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle. They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices into life will make that better too. Yes they play this song in most live shows so if you go to see them have a towel, a t-shirt or just something you can swing round your head for this one - seeing everybody doing that makes the girls happy. BABYMETAL do the big arena shows in Japan with all the lasers, pyro, moving platforms and stages that go out into the audience ... and you are right, they put on a show and give you an experience. However, they put on a great show in the smaller venues as they tour the world as well - they don't need or rely on the lasers, pyro, moving stages etc because they are all about the music, getting the crowd involved ... and making sure everybody gets value for their money. They never give less than 100% for every song in every show, they appreciate people have often paid a lot and travelled a long way to see them, they refuse to sell them short. You say you prefer music videos to live performances ... I really hope you will make an exception when you react to BABYMETAL (better still do the music videos and live performances of their songs). The music videos are all really good and worth seeing (you have seen some of course and some should almost be compulsory viewing), but they are a live performance act ... and not just for the visuals. You thought the sound was clean on this. They really do sound so much better live with the Kami Band's live instrumentals, but most importantly because of Su-metal's live vocals. The studio recordings (especially the first couple of albums) tend to be over-processed and the vocals are unnecessarily compressed. Listen to Su without all that, listen to her singing live - she is an incredible vocalist and so expressive.
BabyMetal is a live band, so they are best live. The crowd participation is extreme and BabyMetal considers the crowd a member of the band. This is the studio track over a live show, the fully live video is also p;osted.
Good one, thanks! "PA PA YA!" and "Distortion", from their third album (Metal Galaxy), are two staples on their usual set list. The live version from this performance is even better, believe me. And yes, they totally know how to put on a great show. I've seen them live at that same venue (Yokohama Arena) earlier this year and it was amazing. One of my best concert experiences ever... if not the best. 🤘🦊
Lol. The Kami band is made up of 4 AMERICAN musicians and has been for the last 5 years. Yes, this video is the old Japanese Kami band, but the current band is even better.
