The mulch on this site is done, (thank God!) just in time before the 1-3" of snow moves in. It's freaking April 20th, I can't believe it's SNOWING lol.
Did 10 yards last week at $110/yard. Took about a day. Weeding, light pruning and edging. Not a bad day! Low overhead too. Just handtools and wheelbarrow. Love mulching
Today solo I knocked out a 15 yd mulch job. Edged beds weeded and mulch all done in less than 8 hrs. All the mulch was moved with a 10 and 4 cubic yd wheel barrow. 900.00 day.😍👍💪
900 for installing 15 yards of mulch? Plus edging and weeding? Was that your take home pay after all expenses or all combined? I price mulching at $100-120/yard depending on the amount of prep involved. Ontario here.
@@Pantelifts10 900 was my gross profit. 100 to 120 is hard too get in my area because of the amount of competition.100 is the top end pricing. I charge 80 a yd for mulch. The edging and weeding was priced separately per hour at 70 an hour. I did the whole job solo.
Had a spring cleanup on the lake and what always get me is the pine needles so many homeowners on the lake leave the pine needles gather for years and i end up cleaning them up. I mulch them and vacuum them up. Seriously 6” or better of needles every time. Ended up being about 100 bushels after all done.
Just fished spring cleanups next 2 weeks will be irrigation repairs at 5 new commercial properties and we start our weekly mowings next next week! I'm in Sun Valley Idaho by the way .
I know this step would take extra time, but I think it either makes or breaks a mulch job IMO. After we are done installing mulch I require my guys to use a rake and then smooth out the mulch with the backside. Adds on maybe an extra 5-10 min but definitely makes it look awesome and smooth.
How is the multi force mowing so far since your now using the 2021? I’m a exmark guy but buying one and wanted some feed back on lines, wet grass and throw? Thanks
I’m in SE Wisconsin. Got caught in white out blizzard conditions 2.5 lawns in on Wednesday. Went from mowing green spring grass to snowblowing with the mower lol had to call it a day early. Then it was 60 and beautiful cutting weather Thursday. Gotta love the Midwest!
I’m starting my lawn business this year. Just got the trailer yesterday ($2k 6x14 enclosed!! Needs tlc) moving down to Davison, getting the mower and all that. Wouldn’t have the confidence I have if it wasn’t for your podcast. Been binging and soaking up al the knowledge I can. Hopefully it takes off. It should, I’m following all the advice I’m hearing for you and your guests. Just wanted to say thanks! Oh and congratulations on the baby girl!
Mowing when it isn't snowing in Denver, 4" last night... Should be out mowing Wednesday and Thursday, cleanup and 4.5 yard mulch install Friday. Maybe a few aerations/fertilizing on Saturday.
Great stuff Brian! Tell the Winter Soldier I said great work too! We're doing it all over here in FL. Mowing, Sod, Mulch and Rock installs! Weekly mowing starts next month! I'm dreading it but excited lol! It's a chill week this week in FL it's been raining a lot. No rain is projected for today but everything is still soaked.
The pitch forks are nice, especially for spreading around plants etc. I prefer to scoop it out of my truck or trailer with a big aluminum grain shovel. Site One sells the Razorback, which is a good one. You may want to check the weight on your mulch. The mulch I mostly use is 700 lbs per yard. With your dump insert, you could be over payload. Payload includes trailer tongue weight too.
Hey, Brian. Great video. I know this is off topic but do you plan on doing any VR 3d videos in the future? I watch some TH-cam on my oculus 2 VR headset and would love to watch your videos in 3d or 360.
That one attachment for the mower almost justifies owning it if you do a lot of mulch jobs. I have a subcompact tractor with a front end loader I use on really big jobs but it’s too clumsy for smaller residential lots. I’m trying finish 2 more lawn dethatching jobs then have about a dozen cleanups that just require blowers. Problem is I will have to mow 9 accounts end of this week or very beginning of next. We have been getting huge temperature swings the last week, it was 19 degrees with snow on the ground this morning. I don’t know why I still live in Michigan.
Congrats man! Work hard and use the resources like TH-cam or Lawterpenuer academy “Brian’s Academy” the whole ball of wax is on sale right now I definitely recommend it it really helped me out.
How come you did not show that you were shoveling the mulch out of the beds back into the dump bucket. Creative editing when you dump too much mulch, come on Rob your making the TH-cam star look like a rookie. LOL inside joke just happened to drive by at the right time on this job.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance was meeting someone at my gun club or else I would have stoped and given moral support. LOL You know the Fat Guy does not shovel.
Had to get it all done by Mon/Tue because that 3-6 inches of snow you're getting in Michigan, we're about to get here in Buffalo, NY lol. Couple more days though and we'll be back in the 60s. Damn great lakes region weather...
Great video Brian, we got all the spring stuff done, and we are out laying stripes and landscaping! We got lucky we dodged that snow storm, at least you can try out the blower on the toro multi-force and blade if you have it!
Hey Brian, love the videos man. Have a question for your I left the oil fill cap loose on my mower and realized after mowing about 1qt. Of oil spewed out over an entire lawn. Ever happened to you? What kind of damage did I do?
Amazing how much easier the pitchforks are to move mulch! Hey Brian, how would you like to educate some of our homeowners over here in Brighton about landscaping and lawn maintenance?

Welcome!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance how’s the toro do for mowing was looking into getting one?
Yesssss!! So glad you got it done.💯😀👍🏾🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸

Awesome video guys!!! 👍
Tarp loads of bark work good too. Load em drag and dump em.
Truck always looks clean
Always.
So ur the reason my dad just bought an 8.5 x 20 sure trac

I been doing clean ups mulch and mowing here in Pa
Try a wheelbarrow.
Why?
Did 20 yards today with wheel barrels.. took 9 hours. Finally done.. Stoney Lake Yard Works.. Peterborough Ontario Canada.. love you vids
Hey! Someone else from Peterborough! 👋 You work mainly around Stoney?
Nice!! 👊
How many people? Did 10 the other day with wheelbarrows as well. Full day on my own..Ontario close to you
I'm sold on the Multi-Force.
The multiforce is a money maker. The Boss Plow does the work of 4 shovelers.

I got to do some multching today.
You should have gone to manards for the pitch fork
I detail privet jets
How often should you remove all old mulch and put new mulch down?
All depends on the client. For us we just relayer.
Question does anyone know if the Ariens zero turn 42’ mower cuts and leaves a clean path with the mulching kit on it?
Can it handle topsoil, or would it be too heavy?
It maxes out at 200 lbs I think, don't quote me on that.
I have stihl fs 91r trimmer and I love it!
could you do a driving with a trailer training video?
I’ll see what I can do!

We haven’t set it up for mowing yet as we’re still using it for clean ups and mulch.
Nicely done! Putting in the work .💯
Amazing are you video editing yourself?
Yes sir
Your the best
No, you are!
Hi where did you get your hat? Can you let me know? Thanks!

When you mow and get grass in the beds, how do you get the grass out but keep the mulch in the beds still?
Just feather the mulch with the leaf blower
The pitch forks for up to $70 now at least by me! I thought I might by two but I can only afford one lol
That narrative is on the Toro though
Can't you run it into a pile to fill it. We've been filling barrows with a dingo. Cut the work in half. Much love from Michigan.
Brian, how much was the dumper dog insert including install?? Great video, great job brother!
$4k plus or minus!

Spring cleanups in Northern Maine. Earliest ones ever. Been a beautiful April so far. Need rain here.
Just did a mulch job and woooo what a workout
That dump cart is super handy !!!
I used to work for a lawn care company and we had an apartment complex that was 200 yards of mulch. Took a week to do
Doing clean ups.and fertilization.
Just hoping for a good season
Bro pull that down with a hard rake into that bucket... fill that thing up in 30 seconds
We did. Lol
When you cut lawns do you not edge every week? I heard at the beginning you talking about not edging. Or is that customers who don’t want edging?
We edge biweekly for our accounts
Literally said the same thing about pitchforks the other day when I needed to get one
Michigan has crazy weather. Yo
Snowing here in Indiana. A bunch!
Same here!

Haha!
Hopefully we will not have Vlog of plowing on Friday. We have about little over an inch at 9 am and still coming come down hard.
TORO Mulch Force, is more than going to pay for itself in just labor costs alone.
you are making double the trips because your not heaping that mini bucket.
You can't overload it. The capacity is only 200 lbs or so.
