Why fire John Schneider? The team has as many wins this year as last. (And still one game to go) As we look back it is clear, with all the roster changes, this was a rebuilding year. We simply got fooled after they went 3-0 and were like "We're winning the Superbowl!" Then reality set in. This team had a brand new coach, system, and a ton of new players and are better defensively this year than last, especially the last 3rd of the season. That means the players were getting it. Offensively, their line got pushed around by a few teams. Most of their success was because Geno could handle the blitz. I think they are in a good spot right now, except their offensive line must improve and they need to do something about their special teams.
In football we talk in terms of years and label it as a sport but it's a business and much of management and employees (players) have only been together about 6 months. No business would be a winner in that amount of time. I say start shopping Geno and DK for draft picks.
The reason why things drop off for Lockett,is because of the offensive coordinator and a QB that's either scared to throw the ball downfield or the offensive coordinator does not trust him throwing down the field.
@robbourns2831 have you people not been watching? He may drive the ball down the field, but if he keeps throwing ints then he is costing us points and games, so he needs to go. I would take almost any rookie over him.
Why would we change any coaches or GM? Gutting the staff instaling new offense and defense and hawk fans expect things to get immidiadly better? Playing GM or coach hot potato will do our players no favours. Let things simmer, i expect our superbowl window to open next season.
Schneider hasn't done jack, and completely ignored critical components to build this franchise. We've been mediocre for a long time. Schneider absolutely needs to go.
From my understanding, before Mike McDonald, Pete Carroll was the top dog above John Schneider. Meaning anything John wanted to do he had to run by Pete so I wouldn’t say John is entirely to blame. I think we ought to give him a few more years. A lot of the legion of boom has John Schneider written all over it. Let’s give him a chance then maybe Ryan Grubb will actually have that high-powered offense We all thought he would.
Scot McCloughan should be getting the credit for those early drafts that won them a Super Bowl. Notice how after he resigned in 2014, the drafting really started to become bad (2013 wasn't very good other than Luke Willson).
@@mrvageta102 He was hired a couple of months after the 2010 draft, so he can't get credit for Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, but they drafted guys like Richard Sherman, K.J. Wright, SB MVP Malcolm Smith, Byron Maxwell, Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson and Bruce Irvin when he was here. I believe he should get credit based on what we've seen over the past 10 years of drafting. It's either that or Pete Carroll and John Schneider were able to nail their 1st 3 drafts and then suddenly forgot how to draft and never came close again.
Probably 1/2 of those picks weren't on him but it wasn't good regardless. Howell would have been just to tank the season when a couple weeks ago we were 1st in the division.
@@realmadzero I’m not blaming him on those high snaps in the red zone or the fumbled kick offs or punt returns those don’t help as well.. I’m not firing grubb over a off year for Geno
I think Schneider is done. No one expected her to fire Pete either. I think she sees what we all see. The personnel of the O-Line has always been lower than the midpoint compared to other teams since he came here. Not saying he doesn’t care, he has just missed on too many high draft picks on the O-Line. I think McDonald should have major input on a GM he can work with.
Letting Geno play and earn an extra $6,000,000 is a problem. That does not benefit the team. Only Geno. If he played better this year, sure. Hes been worse and worse since year 1. He’s the reason we made it to where we did and a big reason we didnt make it any further. Game is meaningless in part because of Geno and his play. He escapes the pocket 1 time for every 4/5 hits/sacks it seems like. Sure, blame the O line. Then blame Geno for having zero awareness and zero mobility when we can all clearly see the o line sucks, why cant he? Help them out. Help your WR’s out. MOVE. If you just want to allow him to get his $6,000,000, just bench him and give him the money and allow Sam to play anyhow. Sam playing potentially benefits the team with another rep and confidence boost for the backup. Have him play a full game. We already know Geno will play great too little too late or play as expected and either way does nothing for the team or fans for that matter. He plays terrible maybe he gets cut after. I wont watch a meaningless game with an average predictable QB. Id watch Sam play, even if he’s terrible
@ that was my point exactly. If the team wants to have a conscience and allow Geno to earn extra money for nothing, then just give him the money and then let Sam play. Thats the only reason they could possibly want him to play is to earn extra bonuses. Which would tell me the man making that decision is bad for the team also
He will almost certainly get an extension with the motivation of lowering his cap hit and the deal will include many ways for the team to move on in a year or two. There is no viable immediate option at QB that is an upgrade that we currently know of, and a FA project QB that surprises in camp or an R2 or later QB drafted stunning the team in camp would be a welcome surprise but a stunning surprise no less. Geno and John are here to stay for at least 1-2 more years. Firing John would be crazy this offseason, honestly.
F… with the backs we have, you’ve GOT to run the ball! Thought we learned that one before with a certain Super Bowl situation, seemed like? I guess not.
My ideal offseason for the interior oline is signing Trey Smith then drafting Tyler Booker from Alabama. that interior would do wonders in the trenches
No, they shouldn’t move on from him. It’s his first year. She was saying if a coach doesn’t do what you want him to and the first year that they should be fired man that would be a lot of coaches fired.
As much as I’m disappointed with the year, I still call it a rebuilding year so I give slack as far as John Schneider goes I would tell him his main priority is to get the offensive line in order. If it doesn’t work this next year he’s out of a job. Gino Smith is a sea rate quarterback throughout the entire league. He’s not a franchise quarterback and he’s not a Super Bowl quarterback. He’s a solid medal of the line. We need a new quarterback that’s going to lead and take us forward.
This coming draft isn't a good QB draft. I wouldn't expect anything this year and you should probably prepare yourself for at least 1 more year with Geno. Who would they replace him with exactly?
He doesn't have an offensive line Ryan Grubb does not have an offensive line what do you want him to do? How can you run the ball when you can't block anybody? He's not going anywhere after 1 year that's ridiculous

John Schneider should have been gone along with Pete Carroll
I so agree on this comment 👏
Your analysis is spot on. He's overrated.
He built the LOB and the defense we have now. Plus all the talented skills players.
Who would you replace him with dumbass?
John Schneider needs to friggin go. The o line has been ass for a decade and our QB situation is a joke.
It's Ryan Grubbs first year there is no need to fire him.
Agreed. Every new coordinator needs at least 2 years. Ben Johnson wasn't the ideal HC after his first year.
I agree but he has the play calling of a college coach he seems to love the pass and we need the run realistically
@ yeah this was just a bit of a learning curve for him. I expect a much better run game but we still need John to draft more guards and tackles

I don't think Grubb needs to be fired.
