Woah...that is so cool...I didn't know that Canadians use "eh" a lot until I just googled it now as a result of your comment. Wolverine (the Marvel character) is from Canada so Canada must be a great place! (But I"m not from there and have yet to visit.)

I am employed at a local Chick-fil-A and have wanted to learn sign language for a while, I am still struggling a bit with some of the techniques we use cause I have not been able to find a video to help a lot of different things we serve, but your videos have helped so much. My boss loves that I speak sign language, I am his only employee that does .THANK YOU😁❤

The deaf student in my CAD course prefers the "what's up?" or "what-do?" signs over the "up-to-now" sign. I thought it was used as like "Hey, so what are you up-to-now(adays)?" and just now I'm realizing "up-to-now" is referencing the current state of something. So, I asked him "up-to-now, you?" haha

phrase tends toward more of a meaning of:
It's been a while! How have you been doing!
or
It's been ages! How have you been doing!
The WHAT'S-UP!?! sign is great (and common) for more casual interactions.
Of possible interest is that the California Subject Examination for Teachers CSET:ASL subtest III study guide uses WHAT'S-UP as one of the practice answers and states in the answer key that "the expression WHAT'S-UP" is too informal to use within the formal setting of a job interview."

(That same study guide includes questionable advice elsewhere but the point I'm making is that the guide writers / test authors feel that WHAT'S-UP is definitely a casual sign -- not intended for more formal situations such as a job interview.)
Please do a lesson teaching us what classifiers are and how to use them I need to know for my asl class... I take it online so its harder than it seems

@bill Vicars I've been learning ASL for approximately two months now. I'm able to understand a lot of signs now and I really love sign language. Maybe someday I'll add (full) captions but realistically I only want to provide enough scaffolding to enable and facilitate learning. If you find that you need captions to understand the video then I'd recommend you go back and start with "Lesson 1" at Lifeprint.com and work your way up through the lessons. Then re-watch this video. The person sitting with me is an "ASL 2" student.
i'm stil learning ASL but i find that with the video screen in the background plus the use of context clues there is no need for captions. Good luck, Gary!
