    Purchased mine recently from Cabela's for $99.99.
    I've found it shoots .177 pellets as good as BB's...if not better!!
    All in all, a well made, quality revolver...with huge fun factor!!!!

    • @jimmyleon2983
      @jimmyleon2983 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I wondered about that, if it would shoot .177 caliber pellets. Have you had any negative issues shooting the pellets?

    The spring loaded fake fireing pin is a buffer to reduce stress on the frame and especially the hammer as the hammer drops and contacts the frame the spring loaded fireing pin works to buffer the impact reducing stress on the frame and especially the Hammer which with out a cutter could break into 2 pieces.
    If you check the muzzle on the outer barrel as well as the chamber you will notice they are closer to .41 rather then .45 the cartridge are closer to .41

      @myguylookinfresh6762 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually its like that so the co2 doesnt escape the gun the hammer functions as a normal hammer if it was making contact all the co2 would just be sent out of the gun

    Dan Wesson revolver shells fit and function too, though you get slightly lower muzzle velocity due to the BB being sited at the front of the shell.

    I was having trouble turning the cylinder when it was "half cocked" and I thought it was broken. Well the first part of your video was/is very helpful as it showed that you only have to gently pull it to the FIRST click and not the second which is what I was doing but not all the time. Now I know what I did wrong. Yes, I did read the manual but didn't realize it would click 3 times. Great looking black finish with kind of a bluing to it.

    The reason the dummy rounds are 357 caliber is because these are already available for other BB guns I think, so they didn't want to design new ones and some people already have some of these.

  • @darylnahorny7929

    The umarex peacemaker Actually has 4 stages (4 clicks) but one of the safty features Umarex incorporsted was when hammer is down it sits on first stage rather then on co2 release valve.
    If or press your trigger slowly move hammer forward till you feel it touch your co2 release valve hold hammer there release the trigger.
    Cock the hammer count the clicks 1 2 3 4
    Like the Real Colt SAA powder burner...click 1 the Safety stage sets trigger gun can not fire.
    Click 2 the Half Cock position, this releases the cylender locking bar allowing the cylender to rotate by hand enabling load and unload.
    Click 3 is the cylinder locking bar resetting itself.
    Click 4 cylinder sound of trigger setting itself in fire possition and cylinder locking in fire possition simultaneously
    The Umarex Colt SAA all have the 4 stage but with the Umarex it is designed thst the hammer sits at stage 1 ( click 1) the safety stsge to protect the co2 release valve.
    Also Note the 4 clicks is Not to spell out C O L T if it was then explain why the 1875 Remington and other single action revolvers from 1873 forward have 4 clicks.
    Also Note the Original Colt SAA was carried with 6 rounds safely. As was the practice with Colt precussion cap revolvers they lowered the hammer between caps preventing accidental discharge.
    The hammer if the 1873 Colt SAA was lowered so fireing pin rested between cartridges preventing accidental discharge this info from Colt also from my great grand fathers diary also personal experiance with my Original Powder Burners 1849 Colt 1851 Colt 1862 Colt 1873 Colt 1858 Remington 1875 Remington and msny more in my collection.

    I ve seen an Umarex Cleaning kit and the RWS Rifle Shooter's Kit, .177 Caliber which is more suitable?
    The first has no oils included but the second does.

    The gap with the hammer bugged me too but after seeing this video could it be so the hammer doesn’t touch the bb in the dummy cartridge like if it were touching you’d have to do a cowboy load with five cartridges instead of six so you don’t get an accidental misfire. But the cartridges aren’t actually live so maybe it’s just so it doesn’t push the bb out prematurely 🤷🏻‍♂️

    In regard to the difference in color between the frame and the barrel, I don't know whether this was deliberate but it looks like a faint version of what real blued Colt SAA's look like when they're new/pristine enough:
    www.hallowellco.com/Colt-SAA-357-2nd-right.jpg
    Except for the nickel-plated SAAs, generally the main part of the frame is color-case-hardened like this while the other parts are blued. So even if the differential coloration wasn't deliberate on the part of Umarex, it's not as though this were generally wrong for the SAA (especially if the barrel has a darker tone while the frame has a lighter, warmer tone).

    Can you measure the diameter of the shell? mine is pretty lose when I insert it into cylinder?
    I wonder if the shell's ending lines up with barrel hole?

    • @BedsitBob
      @BedsitBob 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't speak for the BB shells, but the pellet shells are .404" just in front of the rim, and .384" just behind the "bullet".
      While I've got the calipers out (and I know you didn't ask, but I'll give it anyway), the overall length of the cartridge is 1.610".
      Interesting thing to note, is that the cylinder is narrower (.330") at the front, presumably to prevent a powder cartridge from being fired, although, given there's no route through the breach block, for the "firing pin", I can't really see how you could fire a powder cartridge in it.

    • @BedsitBob
      @BedsitBob 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Additional. Yes, the shell's ending does line up with barrel hole (aka the forcing cone), courtesy of the narrower front end of the cylinder.

    The online PDF version of the manual has you placing the revolver on safe first then placing the hammer in half cocked position in order to rotate the cylinder/load the shells. However neither the cylinder nor the hammer will move after it has been placed on safe. only way it will move at the half cocked position is if the safety is off! Could I have possibly misunderstood.missed something in the instructions? I am pretty sure I followed them to the letter. Hopefully its not the pistol that's defective. Any words of wisdom from anyone that has had the same issue? I bought it at a pawn shop recently for a little over $70 after taxes. I guess you get what you pay for. Did some research and they normally run just over $120 new/retail. At least my model/style does anyway. It has the blueing with ivory/plastic handles. Came with 6 shells. No retail box/cleaning gear. Aside from this issue. It looks like new/ no blemishes!
