    Lewis English School Alumni Association is deeply mourning the loss of Mrs. Vimala Gurung (Canteen Phupu), a cherished member of the Mirik community, who passed away on September 8, 2024, at her residence in Lower Deusay Dara, near Woodlands School.
    Mrs. Gurung, who was born on January 1, 1932, in Jimba Gaon, Mirik, was a revered figure known for her unwavering dedication to the local community. Post her marriage, she continued to be an integral part of Lewis English School, particularly through her role in operating a canteen near the Lewis English School from 1976.
    Throughout her life, Mrs. Gurung was known for her kindness, simplicity, and love for others. She was admired for her peaceful demeanor and her devotion to the values of Saint Kabir Sahib, adhering strictly to a vegetarian diet and maintaining a life free of greed, affection, and anger.
    Her passing has left a void in the hearts of many, as she was not only a beloved aunt but also a nurturing figure who touched the lives of countless children and families in the community. Her legacy of warmth and care will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
    The Lewis English School Alumni Association has expressed profound sadness at her departure and extends heartfelt condolences to her family. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she has touched throughout her life.
