I saw a comment say that Shuhua character might have been "undercover" the whole time. Making him fall in love with and trust her, while conditioning him to eat the candy. But in the end she fell in love too, and ended up regretting her actions.
I love your interpretation of this music video. It made me appreciate more on hardwork, acting, and production behind. The story plot that the director portray matches well with the song lyrics. I love the emotion and chemistry that Shuhua and Eric show. It is really hard to cram all in a music video. It feels like a long drama story plot cram in music video. It is like "situationship", love without promise and without future, just be together with the loved one in the moment.
Eric Chou is nicknamed "The King of the Lovelorn People." His songs are all sweet sorrow. I always forget he is not 30 yet, because he be breaking my heart like he has 50 years of experience. And even though he tears me apart every time, I keep coming back. This video reminds me of this book we read in Lit. in school, The Pearl. They start out chasing a better life, but in the end that chase makes them lose the most important thing. I know this is not your usual (I was shocked to see a reaction), but if you want to check out more Eric Chou, I recommend "Unbreakable Love" and "You don't belong to Me."

This actually makes a lot of sense. It would explain why she accpets it so easily in the beggining
That would make sense, indeed, I just wish they would've shown the slightest clip to imply that she could be undercover, if that's the case :)
