Can this be used for making making hollendaise sauce, which calls for slowly adding adding melted bitter to blending egg yokes, for eggs benedict, etc? If not, why not?
Possibly...its meant to work very fast and be powerful enough to crush ice...so slowly adding butter might not work.

So you carry around the cut of a blended with blades at all?
I have this for 5 years before I didn't even used it last 12 months im making my workout protine with ( frozen strawberries, blue berries... From Walmart, banana, milk and protine) now when I mix it the moter Starts smoking and gets little hot, I keep the mixer on for 5min and I know it will stop working, but soon I'm buying a new one from Walmart just like this one.
yes, a smoking blender is not good...when working it does crush / blend well. I like my raspberry/ strawberry smoothie. 15 bucks probably time to update...thanks for watching.

how does this compare to the blendjet?
I hav'nt used one but It's $39.99 compared to $14.99 for the Hamilton Beach...I'm sure it shreds ice well but so does the HB. I'm guessing it would last you longer too...I should try one and make a loaded tropical smoothie and see. Thanks for watching....:)

I have this item. Can this be used with vegetables?
Yes...see how it works. I use for fruit myself.
Bought this blender at Canadian Tire for $20 and it lasted about a month before it started to leak whatever was in it during the blend process at the top cap. It is made of extremely cheap plastic and does not hold up. Most of my blending is just protein powder and water. I ended up putting duct tape around it and still use it but it's going in the trash as soon as I replace it with something else. The Hamilton Beach company offered to replace the product but at $10 delivery cost, being half the price of the product I decided not to because I know the same thing would happen again. You get what you pay for.
Sorry yours didn't work out....yes $10 bucks for delivery is ridiculous...mine still works good. But it is a lower end product hence the $16.00.

Hamilton Beach has a 60 day return policy....or you could make a warranty claim with them...contact them and see what they say. That's what I would do.
Hmm.... no thanks. I rather get a Cuisinart blender however I might add a Magic Bullet Personal Blender alongside too.

i'm going to buy 1..i got a big blender anyway.take out the tie looks better with out it..
i would add the ice on the bottom 1st of the cup then fruits 2nd..
$15.29 is a great price...you'll have fun with it! The ice on top works for me ...something about the weight at the top allows the fruit to blend first...otherwise the ice will just spin...that's what I found. Appreciate the comments. "Keep Hiking!"

I would get a coffee grinder as the coffee powder is so fine it gets everywhere...but probably would work.

Do NOT buy this, i repeat..DO NOT buy this. The blender gave my cat a chock when his tail came in contact with the blender, It sent him into a cardiac arrest straight away...Which later lead to his death. He is in a better place now, RIP Snuffles
